I just stumbled upon your channel while researching Sugar Beach. You do a FANTASTIC job with information and production quality. I'm subscribing and might just binge a few of your videos this evening with my husband and some wine. Thank you!
My wife and I visited the Sugar Beach as 'visitors'. The setting is magnificent for sure. All beaches on St. Lucia are public. With that said, IMMEDIATELY after we made it to the beach, we were approached by 'locals' who pushed us to take a ride on one of their boats to snorkle or to take us elsewhere around the island. We denied. This is a normal occurrance as we found out at other beaches we visited.
I was going to book here for June. I have some queries though: do they accept cash at the resort? Are the vendors on the beach a nuisance? When we stayed on a hotel at Reduit beach they were a real pain and some got aggressive
It was the people... some of the guests were very nice and down to earth... but when a place is this expensive it also attracts some super wealthy who feel very entitled... so do some of the kids... they can be rude to staff and other guest or just very inconsiderate of others.
It's a public beach... but you will have to walk a bit... maybe 10 min b/c if you are not a guest... the guards wont let you past the gate... so just get out at guard gate and they will tell you how to walk to the beach.
The property and surrounding Pitons are beautiful, but the beach... seems to be dark and flat. Almost no waves at all... seems more like a flat bay of stagnant water. Big waves aren't for everyone, but do people swim in this beach or it it more a sunbathing/scenery beach.
The beach is very calm for sure b/c it's protected - but I found it to be really really nice. People definitely swim at the beach - there are swim platforms and the water gets busy.
If you fly to St Lucia from the US why worry about sustainability? The carbon output from a 3 1/2 hour flight will dwarf any carbon footprint of your hotel stay.
100% correct. We buy carbon offsets for our flights and hotels - carbon credit for flights are not that expensive - there's a blog on our website about how to do it.
Amazing how many people fall for the climate hoax. Buying carbon offsets for flights and hotels--do you even have a clue, as to just how insane that is? Nope. I don’t suppose you do…
Sugar Beach is by far one of the most beautiful properties in the Caribbean. Stunning location and fantastic architecture... but the service was terrible. My wife and I found the service at Marigot Bay Resort and East Winds to be much better. NOT St. Lucia's best.

Best place in St Lucia if not the world. It is stunning and needs to be experienced. True luxury.

Good video. Did you have to get permission from the Civil Aviation Authority?
Roger
Thanks. I’m taking the 5th on your question.
@@SwankGuide ha ha
The regulations are prohibitive
Why did you feel out of place here? Can you elaborate?
It was the people... some of the guests were very nice and down to earth... but when a place is this expensive it also attracts some super wealthy who feel very entitled... so do some of the kids... they can be rude to staff and other guest or just very inconsiderate of others.
Is this resort all inclusive?
nope it's not
Can you walk the beach without staying there?
It's a public beach... but you will have to walk a bit... maybe 10 min b/c if you are not a guest... the guards wont let you past the gate... so just get out at guard gate and they will tell you how to walk to the beach.
So is Dinner included?!?!
Nope this is not an all inclusive. Have fun

Beach is slightly dark because of the volcanic activity near by. There is an extinct volcano nearby, Sulphur springs.

It’s all lies. The temp has risen 0.6c in 30 years. Banks still give mortgages for seafront homes!!
Or maybe we should just swim? Debbie ……

Did I mention Art?
Yes?
How much per week?
The range and cost of rooms is huge and of course prices are seasonal.... A lot. Good luck
Art flog or resort review? 🤔
resort review
looks nice but not worth ANYWHERE near $1000 a night
thanks for watching!
Absolutely is worth every penny
