Florez is my favourite tenor and Mattei my favourite baritone. I love this cast and production so much. JDF also sings this aria beautifully, with wonderful phrasing and legato in the production from Covent Garden (also with Joyce DD as Rosina). Both superb performances.
Teatro Real de Madrid.2.6.2009 There is no doubt that Juan Diego Flórez is one of the very greatest singers nowadays: in his own repertoire, he is literally incomparable with any other singer. For an artist to attain such excellence it is necessary not only to be a great singer, but also to have a very special capacity for communication with the audience.
WOW! That's the first Lindoro I've heard who really makes it sound like a love serenade! And the guitar accompaniment sounds genuinely Spanish for once! Thanks for posting!

Can someone please tell me who played Lindoro in the recording with Beverly Sills back in the 70s or 80s? I watched the video and he's fantastic but I didnt get his name!
Saw the revival of this production with Lawrence Brownlee. Both really good singers. Florez has more volume than Brownlee who was constantly overpowered by the other singers especially by Ramey.
Came here to ask the same thing! He's miming very accurately if not. The one that accompanies Rosina afterwards is clearly a different instrument (of course, they could have had two different guitars in the pit) and I think it would have been hard for a player in the pit to communicate so well with Florez's timings. Plus Mattei plays piano, accordion and double bass, so it's by no means a stretch that he can also play guitar! I don't think this passage is especially difficult, but a guitar player may correct me :) if the camera focused on him for the grace notes and strums, it would be easier to tell, but my money's on him actually playing.
It's amazing how Floez can rip apart one of the most beautiful and EASY arias, into a disconnected, thoughtless mishmash, with all feeling, flow and grace dissected. Just listen to the Luigi Alva / Braganza version.
Bravo bravo!

The most perfect and the most beautiful tenor coloratura ever! Great! Bravissimo!
Fantastico!!!!!!!!!
Simply amazing, Juan diego Florez is the best tenor nowadays.
I love this song, I am so pleased that he sings it!!!!!!! Thank you!!! It is totally fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for uploading this wonderful
2007/MET production.
beautiful so sweet
01:25 one of the best trills in recorded history.
This version, and, Luigi Alva's, my favorite...
Peruvian tenors, both.
Perfect
This song is wanderful (very very pretty u.u)
Congrats for the dicnion, i understand very well.
Il miglior Lindoro
Lo adoro
voi siete le migliori menti in circolazione
Florez su Rossini è perfetto
Its arias like this that make me almost wish I wasnt a spinto. I said, "almost"! Nevertheless, I will sing it anyway.
♥️♥️
Estoy de acuerdo.
Se il mio nome saper voi bramate
Dal mio labbro il mio nome ascoltate
Io son lindoro
Che fido v’adoro
Che sposa vi bramo
Che a nome vi chiamo
Di voi sempre parlando cosi’
Dall’aurora al tramonto del di’
L’amoroso e sincero lindoro
Non puo’ darvi, mia cara, un tesoro
Ricco non sono
Ma un core vi dono
Un’anima amante
Che fida e costante
Per voi sola sospira così
Dall’aurora al tramonto del di’

Is that Peter Mattei playing the guitar?

@noharakun Then again I haven't seen the entirety of this particular production so I can't really say.

Shame he didn't bother to read the score. The rhythm is his own composition not Rossini's!
poor phrasing of JDF!! ornaments are no alternative for deficiencies in rhe vocal technique
