    Thank you for taking the time to show WHERE you hit the cue ball, and WHERE you hit the contact ball and the slow motion reaction is so helpful. Such a great instructor!

    Up to 20 years ago, I played a lot of pro-level tournaments. What I like about this video, is that you are demonstrating shots that can actually be used in real games. Some other videos show trick shots that are very high risk and should never be used in real games (only exhibitions).

    Been using the rail kick jump for years; very handy. What I didn't know was that you could lessen the elevation if you stroke it a little harder. I've been drastically elevating and sometimes don't get the desired result. I'll give your technique a try, thanks!

    I already knew about the rail jump shot and used it a few times successfully. The first where the balls are frozen is the most useful one I think, but when ever I try to cheat the pocket on my local tables with anything more than soft speed the ball doesn't go in. I guess I will have to try to play around with that a bit more to see how much room the pockets give. The clear explanation surely helps. As of the last one, I don't think that It is the best solution for the problem if the rest of the table is clear. Also I feel quite comfortable with swerve shots but the shot still looks hard to execute. Looking forward to getting back to the tables and testing these shots out as soon as the situation calms down a bit. All the best and keep up the good work!

    The last shot of the opposite direction is the best shot I’ve ever seen and never ever thought was a possibility to play or even make, WOW, the first shot is for beginners I have to say, and most of us all know how to play that shot when playing pool on a rail to rail shot position shot and make it to go across the table, but again the last shot u performed was just a eye opener to me and most of us playing! The jump shot making the ball is extremely hard to make, my option, but over all u are a great player to watch and I have u on my daily watch list to see the newest shots u can do .....
    Please show us how to do these Shots if u can.....
    Show is it teach us how to play diamond shots , that’s where the strategy cokes Into play at , that’s what we need to study and master

      It’s a terrible shot.. With the 9ball in the middle of the back rail, frozen, playing position to the side pocket on the 7 will leave you broke for as long as you keep doing it.. Play the 7 in a corner pocket, ANY CORNER POCKET, and you will have a path to the 9 ball that’s relatively easy..
      Playing position in the side pocket when it’s not hanging will keep you broke, playing rotation.. Especially when your next shot is near a rail, or even close to the same side pocket you’re currently shooting at..

      The Billiard Corner
      Laugh all you like, I’m correct.. Side pockets are traps in rotation pool.. Whereas, if you play to corner pockets, you’re never on the wrong side of the ball..
      That particular layout, with the 7 at least a foot away from the side, and the 9 ball in the middle of the short rail, frozen, I’d NEVER play position for the side pocket, unless I could stop my ball and have the perfect angle on the 7..

      You can also not jump ball and use lot of English and come off rail. Just depends on the position of balls and cue ball.

    • @MrJdsenior
      @MrJdsenior 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dalebiggs434 Yes, but given the exact situation sometimes one is definitely preferable to the other, either way, depending on layout and your individual skill. The masse is often not that tough to just get a hit, but sometimes it 'leaves' badly, if you know what I mean.

      I saw a match where the announcers called that shot as the right one where Mika Immonen was saftied such, and all three balls were short rail frozen (or close) with object almost in pocket and a blocker (IIRC). chose a different approach that netted him a missed ball scratch. He tried the shoot away clear with masse back off the rail and missed the object ball completely on the curve one way or the other. I practice that shot as one of my silly fun practice shots and it is not easy to get right consistently, the masse I mean. I have played that rail jump shot, but off an object ball and off the table, UNintentionally. :-/ One of those things where I think, how many times does it take for you to learn not to DO THAT, each time it happens.

    The best way to get joy out of that shot is, when you have someone behind you annoying you. you take a hard cut shot but you accidentally smack him him in the head. The guy said I would be mad at you but no one can do that on purpose. The guy never stood behind me shooting again.

    All great shots to know and your execution of them was excellent. The last shot where you use masse was especially interesting to me. I knew the other two shots, not that one. However given the exact situation I do know a shot that does the exact same thing. Whichever way you want the cue ball to go use spin on that side of the cue ball. Then jump into the object ball just a bit and it will either come off the object ball or hit the rail and move in the desired direction. This shot is dangerous unless practiced until competent at it due to the fact that either the cue ball or object ball will jump off the table quite often until you master it. Another top notch video here.

  • @MrJdsenior
    @MrJdsenior 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing that actually struck me the most on this video was the mechanics of the shot @ 1:59, if I could just learn to stay THAT freakin' still, my game would probably improve 25% right there. And believe me, I've put major time into working that...and still that early jump up just keeps creeping back in. Sometimes it gets so bad I've had people tell me I was halfway to the next shot before the rock left the cue. An exaggeration, but unfortunately sometimes not that great of one.
    3:54, the cue ball doesn't want to go on the tangent line first, it WILL go on the tangent line first, every single time you hit an object ball, then it does other things (unless it was sliding). That's a nice shot to have in the 'kit' BTW, I suspect it takes a bit of practice to get any consistency with. Obviously the better plan is to get on the right side of the shot in the first place, but that is not always an option, or you are handed the shot by your opponent, or just just roll slightly short or long. Nice vid.

    I've got a Shot that I've played successful several times to raves and beer-buying!
    Play the cue ball along the long rail to the straight ahead tip of the bottom rail pocket, bouncing it off the pocket's adjacent tip and the cue ball goes straight along the short rail, making a 90 degrees turn in effect and pocketing an object ball into the opposite short rial pocket. Get the Picture??👍✌️🇬🇾
