Probably my favorite Christmas song, it hits hard. The older we get the farther we get away from the joy of Christmas. Also once our children grown the magic of Christmas day seems to be less and less also. I miss being a kid, and as a parent, I miss my children being young.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Christmas isn't about where you spend Christmas or about all the festivities,.. it's about who you share it with. Merry Christmas everybody and let the love of Christ be with you. Remember, the first Christmas took place in a barn (or a cave) and they did just fine with having each other. :)
As luck would have it, I was in the sound stage when this video was filmed. At the time I was a delivery driver for a studio and I had a package for Faith's husband Tim and they had me deliver it directly to this stage. What an experience it was to watch this. Interesting how this song has taken a new meaning today too if you pay attention to the words. These past 2 years during the pandemic, we have allowed ourselves to be cheated out of the usual Christmas joy due to restrictions, masks, fear of travel among other things. Jesus said: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Do not let Covid or anything else cheat you out of what Christmas is all about.

This is my favorite Christmas song. I try to be happy around Christmas time, but it's hard for me to be these days. When I was kid I always went to my grandma's (my dad's mom) on Christmas Eve. We would also go to my great aunt's house. After that me, my parents, and my brother and sister would go home and have our Christmas and open presents. On Christmas Day we would go to my other grandma's (my mom's mom) and eat and open presents. I'm 22 now and I don't do any of that anymore. My mom's mom died in 2010, my grandpa in 2002 and we no longer go to her house for Christmas. My aunt and her husband live in my grandma's house now and me and my mom only go there now to hang out with them. My dad's mom doesn't really have Christmas at her house anymore because she's getting older and isn't able to do the things she used to do. Also, we don't even have our own Christmas anymore. We haven't since my parents got divorced 10 years ago. Everything isn't what is used to be for our family. I really don't have much to do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day anymore. I wish things didn't have to change, but sometimes traditions don't last forever.
Things do change over time Jessica, but you can still have a Merry Christmas if you want. Start some new traditions with friends, find ways to help people in need. Before I got married, I was happy just sitting home with my Christmas tree lit and my favorite Christmas movies on. There's so many ways to make Christmas special. I wake up alone in my home for Christmas morning these days-and this song speaks to me. What happened to those days before I grew up, before my family split up, my parents divorced and lived in separate states? I'm not the same one-I'm a man, with the experiences and heartbreaks of time-see what the times done? Is this why the magic has gone? Why can't I be that child, waiting at the stairs for his parents to call him down again? And then I think of that little one-maybe she is my best friend's daughter, or maybe she is in a home I have never known. My heart really does go out to you ! It reminded me of a very rough,hard Christmas my children & myself went thru resulting in the end of my marriage & our family as we knew it, & not at all feeling like celebrating at this time of year. When one day while I was riding in my car, listening to the radio, amongst all the Christmas songs, an ad came on asking for volunteers to help feed the homeless & hungry. It came to me this is something that we could do to make us feel a little better this Christmas, so I went home & presented the idea to my daughters(Ages then 6 &12) & sure enough they were in for it ! I made the call to volunteer our services & they greatly excepted our services. Christmas day we showed up & helped wherever we were needed. Needless to say we walked out of there feeling like a million bucks... I think it just might be the best Christmas we had spent together & made us all feel the real meaning of Christmas just by giving our time & our smiles to others ! Try looking into doing this, It makes you feel wonderful & appreciating Christmas so much more ! Merry Christmas & May God Bless You !
I know I had an awful childhood my "Santa " ended at 3 or 4 years old. Christmas meant having to go to school and lie about my so called gifts. But when I had kids I went all out and adopted Angel's every year. I lost my son 2 years ago and I've lost my joy of Christmas and of life. Still hoping my love of the season will return.
Reminds me of my Mother, who is now in Heaven. She was a single parent, from a abusive marriage. I remember her son and I would open gifts and she had nothing. When I got my first good job, I went all out for her for Christmas, making up for when she didn't have Christmas presents to open. I know she is seeing my tears as I type this. Because of lies, she was taken out of my care, and died 8 months later, because of neglect by her son......Love You Mom, You are now pain free.

My grandmother passed away on 12/12/15.This song has always got me through so much but means more to me now than it did when I was younger. I sang this song in a theater for a christmas concert and my Dad had been able to come and see me sing when I was about 12 years old....now I'm 25 and he died in 2008. When I hear this song I think back to that theater and seeing my Dad watching me and even crying from hearing me sing. I miss you Daddy but I know just like the spirit of christmas you're always with me.

There are several Christmas songs that deeply touch my heart, but this is probably my favorite of all time. The lyrics, music, and mood are all pure perfection. The feelings evoked are universally relatable. I’ve never heard anyone sing WAYC the way Faith Hill does. Her vocals are breathtaking, and her emotional connection incredibly resonant. I don’t think she’s ever sounded more sublime than she does here. I would also be thrilled to death to finally hear Mariah Carey’s demo version, and I doubt I’m far from the only one! ❄️
I just got back from Afghanistan three months ago, this made my fourth combat tour, and my fourth time away from my wife and kids. I listened to this each and every time on Christmas day, and it got me through each and every time, what a powerful song and a powerful singer.

My husband lost his wonderful and loving mother yesturday. We had a flat tire due to a "nail" on the way to the hospital and he missed her passing. He can't get past this and I am so sorry for his loss. He chuckled and said "mom and dad are in heaven again together and having coffee at Kmart". Well, if you are as old as we are you will remember those days too. Bless him and his family in the Lord's name.

For 40 years I loved Christmas. For 40 years it was "OUR" Holiday. We were like kids. Decorations, presents, mutual love of the birth of Christ and it's story. House was always decorated inside and out. 10 foot trees, lights everywhere. Then on August 4, 2017, the love of my life passed away. Christmas has NEVER been the same. I try to put up a front and deal with it, but somehow I always crumble. I was 32 when we met. I'm now 75. I cherish what we had, but I wanted more.

Christmas changed a lot for me so this song means a lot to me... Seems that after we lost a big part of our family, my grandfather, to cancer christmas just hasnt been the same. We all do christmas with our own small families now-a-days since his passing. Christmas was always the best time of year, with family all around, getting to talk and spend time, and us younger girls trying to sing better than the other one to christmas music, watching and waiting for the sun to go down so we could open up presents, but my favorite part of the year was always my grandfather telling special stories on christmas eve. RIP to a wonderful man and to the christmas' of the past.

Merry Christmas! My Mother died on 12/21/2009, suddenly from a blood clot. I was actually at my husband's aunt's funeral when I received the worst phone call in the world. My brother and I were shopping for her burial attire on Christmas Eve, it was pure torture!! Her burial was not until 12/28/09, due to the holiday, AWFUL!! She just turned the young age of 58 years old. My lovely and dear Grandfather died suddenly on 10/8/15, at the age of 87, he was like a father to me! All the nice words in the world are not enough to describe his love and sacrifices he made for our family. This song is so true for people who have lost their close loved ones. It is hard and Christmas has never felt special to me since, I just go through the motions. Most important, I focus that this is the day that Jesus was born and due to believers of Faith....this somehow gets the broken hearts through the holiday. It will NEVER be the same, nor will any future holidays surpass the ones shared with my Mom and Grandfather.
My mother, 97, died too on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and her funeral was the following week. I have bad days and didn't have the spirit at all. Her dying forever broke my brothers and me apart though we love each other. She was a devout Christian even to her passing. We have those times. We were so blessed. She and our father, who passed decades ago, would tell us to dwell on the Lord's compassion towards the poor. People in close proximity to each of us are struggling in poverty, especially children. Open your heart to them and the Lord will bring you a family to share your good memories.
Hi Lisa, I'm sorry to hear that. My dad died suddenly ( accident) on December 18th of 1995, he was only 47, and his funeral was on December 23rd. Just a day before Christmas. I am European and so we celebrate our Christmas on the 24th. It was awful and stayed that way for about 15 years. My favorite holidays turned into something I would drag and would be afraid of. It was almost as if I was panicking. Until about maybe 8 or so years ago. I could finally, somewhat, look forward to it. It's not the same as when he was alive, the bitterness and pain will always reside in my heart, but it did get better. I hope same will happen to you. It's true what they say about things needing time. Every time I pray before our Christmas dinner, I imagine him with my grandma up in the heaven, sitting at the big table, ready to have his Christmas dinner as he looks down on us, almost as if he is making sure we are alright :) I can actually see him right now ;) So as sad and painful this time of the year is for you, you'll be alright. This is a song that speaks to everyone; we take this joyous holiday for granted some days with the presents, the decor, the contests and annoying commercials we put ourselves through. But yet there's a sense of peace, tranquility, progression almost as if a story is unfolding a new chapter of sorts. A few years ago I was very suicidal and somehow listening to Christmas music, watching the specials and the movies reminded me of this feeling I have every year and what the holiday truly means. This song encompasses that meaning and I proudly listen to the song whenever I decide to, so I can feel that joy again.

As luck would have it, I was in the sound stage when this video was filmed. At the time I was a delivery driver for a studio and I had a package for Faith's husband Tim and they had me deliver it directly to this stage. What an experience it was to watch this. Interesting how this song has taken a new meaning today too if you pay attention to the words. These past 2 years during the pandemic, we have allowed ourselves to be cheated out of the usual Christmas joy due to restrictions, masks, fear of travel among other things. Jesus said: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Do not let Covid or anything else cheat you out of what Christmas is all about.

This is my favorite Christmas song. I try to be happy around Christmas time, but it's hard for me to be these days. When I was kid I always went to my grandma's (my dad's mom) on Christmas Eve. We would also go to my great aunt's house. After that me, my parents, and my brother and sister would go home and have our Christmas and open presents. On Christmas Day we would go to my other grandma's (my mom's mom) and eat and open presents. I'm 22 now and I don't do any of that anymore. My mom's mom died in 2010, my grandpa in 2002 and we no longer go to her house for Christmas. My aunt and her husband live in my grandma's house now and me and my mom only go there now to hang out with them. My dad's mom doesn't really have Christmas at her house anymore because she's getting older and isn't able to do the things she used to do. Also, we don't even have our own Christmas anymore. We haven't since my parents got divorced 10 years ago. Everything isn't what is used to be for our family. I really don't have much to do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day anymore. I wish things didn't have to change, but sometimes traditions don't last forever.

Before I got married, I was happy just sitting home with my Christmas tree lit and my favorite Christmas movies on. There's so many ways to make Christmas special. My heart really does go out to you ! It reminded me of a very rough,hard Christmas my children & myself went thru resulting in the end of my marriage & our family as we knew it, & not at all feeling like celebrating at this time of year. When one day while I was riding in my car, listening to the radio, amongst all the Christmas songs, an ad came on asking for volunteers to help feed the homeless & hungry. It came to me this is something that we could do to make us feel a little better this Christmas, so I went home & presented the idea to my daughters(Ages then 6 &12) & sure enough they were in for it ! I made the call to volunteer our services & they greatly excepted our services. Christmas day we showed up & helped wherever we were needed. Needless to say we walked out of there feeling like a million bucks... I think it just might be the best Christmas we had spent together & made us all feel the real meaning of Christmas just by giving our time & our smiles to others ! Try looking into doing this, It makes you feel wonderful & appreciating Christmas so much more ! Merry Christmas & May God Bless You !

I know I had an awful childhood my "Santa " ended at 3 or 4 years old. Christmas meant having to go to school and lie about my so called gifts. Reminds me of my Mother, who is now in Heaven. She was a single parent, from a abusive marriage. I remember her son and I would open gifts and she had nothing. When I got my first good job, I went all out for her for Christmas, making up for when she didn't have Christmas presents to open. I know she is seeing my tears as I type this. Because of lies, she was taken out of my care, and died 8 months later, because of neglect by her son......Love You Mom, You are now pain free.

My grandmother passed away on 12/12/15.This song has always got me through so much but means more to me now than it did when I was younger. I sang this song in a theater for a christmas concert and my Dad had been able to come and see me sing when I was about 12 years old....now I'm 25 and he died in 2008. When I hear this song I think back to that theater and seeing my Dad watching me and even crying from hearing me sing. My husband lost his wonderful and loving mother yesturday. We had a flat tire due to a "nail" on the way to the hospital and he missed her passing. He can't get past this and I am so sorry for his loss. He chuckled and said "mom and dad are in heaven again together and having coffee at Kmart". Well, if you are as old as we are you will remember those days too. Bless him and his family in the Lord's name.

For 40 years I loved Christmas. For 40 years it was "OUR" Holiday. We were like kids. Decorations, presents, mutual love of the birth of Christ and it's story. House was always decorated inside and out. 10 foot trees, lights everywhere. Then on August 4, 2017, the love of my life passed away. Christmas has NEVER been the same. I try to put up a front and deal with it, but somehow I always crumble. I was 32 when we met. I'm now 75. I cherish what we had, but I wanted more.

Christmas changed a lot for me so this song means a lot to me... Seems that after we lost a big part of our family, my grandfather, to cancer christmas just hasnt been the same. We all do christmas with our own small families now-a-days since his passing. Merry Christmas! My Mother died on 12/21/2009, suddenly from a blood clot. I was actually at my husband's aunt's funeral when I received the worst phone call in the world. My brother and I were shopping for her burial attire on Christmas Eve, it was pure torture!! Her burial was not until 12/28/09, due to the holiday, AWFUL!! She just turned the young age of 58 years old. My lovely and dear Grandfather died suddenly on 10/8/15, at the age of 87, he was like a father to me! All the nice words in the world are not enough to describe his love and sacrifices he made for our family. This song is so true for people who have lost their close loved ones. It is hard and Christmas has never felt special to me since, I just go through the motions. Most important, I focus that this is the day that Jesus was born and due to believers of Faith....this somehow gets the broken hearts through the holiday. It will NEVER be the same, nor will any future holidays surpass the ones shared with my Mom and Grandfather.

My mother, 97, died too on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and her funeral was the following week. I have bad days and didn't have the spirit at all. Her dying forever broke my brothers and me apart though we love each other. She was a devout Christian even to her passing. We have those times. We were so blessed. She and our father, who passed decades ago, would tell us to dwell on the Lord's compassion towards the poor.
People in close proximity to each of us are struggling in poverty, especially children. Open your heart to them and the Lord will bring you a family to share your good memories.
Hi Lisa, I'm sorry to hear that. My dad died suddenly ( accident) on December 18th of 1995, he was only 47, and his funeral was on December 23rd. Just a day before Christmas. I am European and so we celebrate our Christmas on the 24th. It was awful and stayed that way for about 15 years. My favorite holidays turned into something I would drag and would be afraid of. It was almost as if I was panicking. Until about maybe 8 or so years ago. I could finally, somewhat, look forward to it. It's not the same as when he was alive, the bitterness and pain will always reside in my heart, but it did get better. I hope same will happen to you. It's true what they say about things needing time. Every time I pray before our Christmas dinner, I imagine him with my grandma up in the heaven, sitting at the big table, ready to have his Christmas dinner as he looks down on us, almost as if he is making sure we are alright :) I can actually see him right now ;) So as sad and painful this time of the year is for you, you'll be alright. Ever since my parents split when I was 12 Christmas for me just isn't the same for me. I find myself lost and am second guessing the true meaning of Christmas. This song speaks to me emotionally because I can relate. I hope everyone's holiday season is jolly and filled with joy.
I know how you feel, i lost both my parents a few years ago, and christmas has been sad for a long time. Love someone, anyone. thats what christmas is about. as long as you have someone to love, you''ll have a great christmas. no tree or presents can replace the security of knowing someone loves you.

My parents split when I was 8. I'm 17 now and realizing that sadly the feeling doesn't stay the same as when they were together and I was younger, but I know when I'm older I'll find that joy in making my future kids and grandkids feel the way I used to way back when. I used to sing this to my girls when they were little, now they are they are teenagers, so it brings tears to my eyes missing their childhood and being preschoolers. This is a song that speaks to everyone; we take this joyous holiday for granted some days with the presents, the decor, the contests and annoying commercials we put ourselves through. But yet there's a sense of peace, tranquility, progression almost as if a story is unfolding a new chapter of sorts. A few years ago I was very suicidal and somehow listening to Christmas music, watching the specials and the movies reminded me of this feeling I have every year and what the holiday truly means.
