ive tested both with the same gear when lance was about 40m and fang was hovering around 27m and the fang was better imo. it hit a lot more accurately for me. lance would get bigger hits but would hit more zeros for me.
i think if you have lower stats, kinda like 85~90 fang would be better since its accuracy is more consistent even on lower stats but if you have 90+ attack/str then lance would be better.
I think I might make the swap from ranged to melee, appreciate the guide!! Q: What is that hit splat plugin that only shows the amount of damage you do instead of it showing exp drop etc? Thanks!

I've never had much luck with the lance. Lately i bought the rapier and averaged pretty close with times. It doesn't make sense but my times with the lance have dropped by about 15-20 seconds lately on average. Either my rng has been shit or the lance has been nerfed.

Why you gotta break down the bonkers grind I've been doing for the last 2 weeks to do ranged vorkath kills. Like down to every little detail of how insane it is lmao. I wont stop. I've gone too far!
This makes no sense. In what way is this a fair comparison if you are changing your gear? Should you not ONLY be changing the weapons for this to be a fair comparison? Seems like a very big blunder.
I'm glad you asked! The Lance border line needs defense drops and as much accuracy on your gear as possible to make it truly effective. For example, if I used a Dragonfire Shield with the Lance, instead of a defender, I would have actually gotten way less kills per hour than the Fang+DFS setup. Making the comparison much less competitive and much less interesting in my opinion. Again, thank you for the question.
@@patrickcoyle682 Hopefully they add an item that will buff the stats on the Lance and give it a a warhammer style special attack that only works on dragons. One of the reasons I made this video is because I find it strange how effective a random sword from the desert can keep up with and even pass up a dragon specific weapon at dragon slaying. I honestly hope it gets addressed.
@@2small_paul I'm actually a ironman RSN is *gracefulgim* and im hunting a lance ATM trying to get another hydra task. However I need to start doing t.o.a to get that fang for sure. I know it's op and best for most NPC's..but again lance needs buffing in regards to damage if that fang DPS is more or on point lol. Subbed and gl on 1k subs.

Yeah it was weird going from Fang to the Lance. Made the rhythm from 5 tick to 4 tick all wonked up. Still. Definitely could have done a better job with my walking. Appreciate the tips!
Definitely very similar with very minor tweaks. I personally have used a Dragon hunter lance, bowfa, dragon hunter crossbow(With and without a zaryte crossbow), tbow and the osmumten's fang all to great success at hydra. And to add creditability I have also green logged hydra and I have all but one of his combat achieves. Just missing speed chaser.
That would have been much less interesting, in my opinion. i had to prop up the lance pretty hard in order for the comparison to be interesting. Look at the example kill times. I would personally never use the lance without a defender and a spec weapon. And if I had done a pure 1 to 1 it would have been extremely unfair to the lance. So I felt using gear that was more realistic for each weapon was a much more reasonable approach. If you would want to take the 60 mil setup and see how the lance performs id actuallygbe really interested to see your feelings on the matter. Have a great day!

If its a low defense monster, like a gargoyle or a black demon, whip is 6.4% better assuming standard gear and 85 attack and strength. Totally acceptable to camp the fang or just own both and alternate between high defense monsters/dragons with the fang and using the whip for low defense stuff like all demons(Lesser, greater, black, abby). Or just be lazy and camp the fang. The item is absurd. But both items are very affordable right now.

fang is better in cheaper gear lance becomes better when you're approaching best in slot gear.

dhl only gets like 4 to 6 seconds kills quicker sometimes, dhl is not really worth it tbh, i use the fang
