Haerim in stripes is older 17 and the other girl is 14. From watching the show Haerim was the one choreographed and arranged the song. To be honest Haerim showcased her singing in this song and made the other girl a supporting member. From watching this I am more appreciative now of how Minju allowed both her and Kriesha to showcase their talent as a group which allowed both of them to move on.
They said that because JYP was praising the staging of the song. But if you watched the intro of their segment Haerim was leading practice by counting the beats out loud. The older member is always the leader of the group. Haerim has the better voice but she didn't allow Garin to shine at all. Even when Garin had the lead vocals Haerim was trying to outshine her with Mariah Carey type runs in the background.
Not being rude, obviously but I think this is reaching a little. We don't know what actually happened in their training since they only aired about 5 minutes worth so I don't think we can say Haerim took the lead and tried to steal all the spotlight. In fact in the episode both JYP and YG said that they wanted to cast the other girl but couldn't as they did not have enough casting cards. They even asked the production team to see if they could cast both, so i wouldn't say there was any hogging of the song to be honest. I'm hoping that if the three trainees are put into groups next episode, they manage to bring her back as she worked so well with Haerim, but it's unlikely

Did you even watched the other episodes? The girl in stripes have pictures with Dahyun and Tzuyu if I am not mistaken. She's a JYP trainee before who even trained with Twice members
I don't think many int fans know this so i'll just give you a backup story: basically after their battle with christa chu and the soomin, they won right? Well they were really happy but, turns out, they got a lot of negative comments. Most of them saying that the two shouldn't have one. This made both of them really sad, you have to remember that one of the girls is around 12-13 years old. During their interview, the girls cried because they recieved so much backlash despite their hard work. So to prove everyone wrong, they practiced more. They were the earliest to the training rooms and left the latest. They really put so much effort into their performance. Their performance was flawless and they recieved so much praise. However, there was only one spot left in the trainee casting, and it was for yg. The judges tried to talk to the producers to let both of them stay, however, the fucking producers said no. Therefore, the one with the stripes stayed. I literally cried so much.
Abby That's so sad! I watched that episode and though I did expect Soomin's group to win (before the performances) these girls deserved it. You could tell how hard they worked bc they knew they were the underdogs, so it's not fair they got hate for it. It was the first time I thought 'wow kpopstar is actually fair' and I don't even like the super girly concepts.
But Soomin and Kriesha were better. These girls were better synchronized in their previous performance but their vocals were nothing special if you listen the younger girl Garin was pitchy too and their dancing was very simple. Kriesha forgot her lyrics but Soomin and her were clearly more talented. It just wasn't the Korean fans that believed so did the rest of the world. The TH-cam video for Soomin and Kriesha has now over 1 million views. Haerim and Garin's video has under 200,000 views.
Not that I disagree with you about kriesha and especially soomin being more talented, but at the same time I think it's unfair to use youtube views as justification. Kriesha and soomin's performance was obviously gonna get a ton of views from fans of bts and blackpink who were curious to see the cover.

So it's Hye Rim, Go Ara and Kriesha for YG, then Minju, Soo Min and Sohee for JYP. JYP has an advantage when it comes to experience (he got Minju from the Ark) but YG has young bloods whose vocals are incredibly awesome. Can't wait to see these girls perform :)

Chan Damasco the kids agreed to be as one contestant. Meaning they'll be performing as a duo throughout the show. It's different for these two because I think they are still a separate contenders just like the others. And Haerim really stood out in this performance. :(
There's a different system for trainees and for regular contestants. Hyunjin and Jongseob do not have a company, they are just regular contestants. The two girls however, are trainees with an actual agency, and kpop star is handling them differently. There are only six spaces for the girl trainee's.
I'm guessing (hoping) that they're gonna put the trainees together in two 3-member girl groups for the remainder of the competition and it wouldn't be fair for one group to have 4 members. I think this makes the most sense for the live shows since having 6 extra contestants with prior training is kind of unfair for the others.
Omggg YG can makee a powerful girlgroup with Krieshia, Go Ara& Haerim, but i really want it to be Minju, Soomin, Kreisha, and Sohee 💕💕 this 4 will have big impact in this show😍 as a girl group

seems like this season is made of 90% idol trainees and 10% vocalists/musically talented performers interesting season but can't say i like it..I'm not that much into idol performances....I rather like great vocal performances and unique renditions.. the last seasons had way more contestants like this...now it's almost like those idol shows like sixteen or produce 101... I really hope some vocals I like will make it to the top 10 and not only trainees.
When it comes to top 10, I think there'll be less of the trainees? Unless they alter the show's rules.. But some trainees like Soomin have really good vocals
the one in strip top should debut. her voice sounds really good. she can hit the high notes really well she could easily become main or lead vocals. She good at expressing her facial and her personality has charm. She has so much potential.
what i remember what jyp and other say, they said garin have a really good facial expression, and for garin a face is a akward, the two are bad at dancing (they did great here) and hyerim is really good i hight note and she can go really high that a good thing !for my opinion garin show more is somebody, but i'm happy she debut in a group and i think or i hope maybe she dont really show good singing skills here she learn a bit more she actually singing really good i hope this so fighting for elris debut !!
OMG I saved this video way back when it first came out and now going through my faves again after many years and I realized that it's Kim Hyerim. She was one of my picks in GP999 but sadly she got eliminated early. I favorited this video because of Hyerim's vocals.
I hope the judges save Garin somehow. Before they casted Sparkling Girls as one card or some duos as one card, so it is possible. Garin would help either of the girl groups.
Haerims vocals are extremely over the other girl meaning the other girl was basically sent home.. it was a bummer but as we're getting closer to more competition and as they put them together there was that lack of vocal range and I mean of course she probably doesn't know much of English now if she does correct me if I'm wrong then she probably should've been better than that.. this performance didn't show much towards her vocals while haerims vocals were displayed all throughout the song her high note and harmonization got her to stay especially her stage presence and she got casted to yg on the show.

seems like this season is made of 90% idol trainees and 10% vocalists/musically talented performers
interesting season but can't say i like it..I'm not that much into idol performances....I rather like great vocal performances and unique renditions..
the last seasons had way more contestants like this...now it's almost like those idol shows like sixteen or produce 101...
I really hope some vocals I like will make it to the top 10 and not only trainees.

When it comes to top 10, I think there'll be less of the trainees? Unless they alter the show's rules.. But some trainees like Soomin have really good vocals
I think they will make a rule that only a certain number of trainees will make it to make it fairer on the other contestants

what i remember what jyp and other say, they said garin have a really good facial expression, and for garin a face is a akward, the two are bad at dancing (they did great here) and hyerim is really good i hight note and she can go really high that a good thing !for my opinion garin show more is somebody, but i'm happy she debut in a group and i think or i hope maybe she dont really show good singing skills here she learn a bit more she actually singing really good i hope this so fighting for elris debut !!

Haerims vocals are extremely over the other girl meaning the other girl was basically sent home.. it was a bummer but as we're getting closer to more competition and as they put them together there was that lack of vocal range and I mean of course she probably doesn't know much of English now if she does correct me if I'm wrong then she probably should've been better than that.. this performance didn't show much towards her vocals while haerims vocals were displayed all throughout the song her high note and harmonization got her to stay especially her stage presence and she got casted to yg on the show.
