  • How Powerful is India? Indian Military Power 2020
    Note:
Military personnel - Military personnel are members of the state's armed forces. Their roles, pay, and obligations differ according to their military branch (army, navy, marines, air force, space force, and sometimes coast guard), rank (officer, non-commissioned officer, or enlisted recruit), and their military task when deployed on operations and on exercise.
Tanks - A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle designed for front-line combat. Tanks have heavy firepower, strong armour, and good battlefield manoeuvrability provided by tracks and a powerful engine.
Armored Vehicles - is an armed combat vehicle protected by armour, generally combining operational mobility with offensive and defensive capabilities.
Self-propelled artillery - is artillery equipped with its own propulsion system to move towards its target. They are high mobility vehicles, usually based on continuous tracks carrying either a large field gun, howitzer, mortar, or some form of rocket/missile launcher. They are usually used for long-range indirect bombardment support on the battlefield.
Artillery - is a class of heavy military ranged weapons built to launch munitions far beyond the range and power of infantry firearms.
Rocket Projectors - is a type of rocket artillery system that contains multiple barrels. Unguided rocket artillery is notoriously inaccurate and slow to reload compared to artillery. A multiple rocket launcher helps compensate for this with its ability to launch multiple rockets simultaneously and a greater rate of fire.
Fighter Aircraft - often referred to simply as a fighter, is a military fixed-wing aircraft designed primarily for air-to-air combat against other aircraft.
Attack Aircraft - is a tactical military aircraft that has a primary role of carrying out airstrikes with greater precision than bombers, and is prepared to encounter strong low-level air defenses while pressing the attack. They known as ground-attack aircraft.
Trainer Aircrafts - is a class of aircraft designed specifically to facilitate flight training of pilots and aircrews.
Military Helicopter - is a helicopter that is either specifically built or converted for use by military forces.
Attack Helicopter - is an armed helicopter with the primary role of an attack aircraft, with the capability of engaging targets on the ground, such as enemy infantry and armored fighting vehicles.
Special-Mission Aircraft - these aircraft are those platforms specifically designed or developed to accomplish an over-battlefield role by utilization of advanced onboard equipment or specialized trait.
Military Transport Aircraft - are used to airlift troops, weapons and other military equipment to support military operations.
Submarine - (or sub) is a watercraft capable of independent operation underwater.
Mine Warfare - Conversely, a mine warfare force can be called upon to lay down minefields in strategic waters. Mines remain one of the greatest threats to warships and shipping vessels alike.
Patrol Boat - is a relatively small naval vessel generally designed for coastal defence, border protection, immigration law-enforcement, search and rescue duties.
Corvette - is a small warship. It is traditionally the smallest class of vessel considered to be a proper (or "rated") warship. The warship class above the corvette is that of the frigate.
Frigate - is a medium size warship, frigates are thus usually used as escort vessels to protect sea lines of communication or as an auxiliary component of a strike group.
Destroyer - in naval terminology, a destroyer is a fast, maneuverable, long-endurance warship intended to escort larger vessels in a fleet, convoy or battle group and defend them against powerful short range attackers. It s mostly larger than corvetes and figates.
Aircraft carrier - is a warship that serves as a seagoing airbase, equipped with a full-length flight deck and facilities for carrying, arming, deploying, and recovering aircraft. It is a biggest ship in naval.
