  • I had a booth set up right next to Todd Martin, and when I got the chance to breathe, I took a walk and looked around. I ran into a man named Robert Woodhouse, and we got to talking about prospecting, and getting into cracks of bedrock! Using the old fashion way of a hand pump type of devise works really good but Robert designed a much simpler way to get the gold out! I will definitely be using this and Carrying this on my web-site!! If you are interested you can contact me at indianagoldhunter@gmail.com

Your new machine looks good but what do you do about your power supply I can't see lugging a 12 volt battery up and down the creek with me

Gene Norris oh heck no I would not either! I use a lawn mower 12v battery and put it in a back pack! And I never have to take it out of the back pack, only to charge it! And the battery lasts me all day!

Actually Jonathon, rob bought a bag of cons and ran it through his Goldsnare and then showed the loss on it, the loss was very little! This unit works awesome

So its an underwater dredge basically and illegal in California and oregon BUT its a nice little setup have you check out the Gould dredge? it holds gold better then a mat type dredge its an entirely different setup.

Isn't the law you cannot use motorized dredge. You can lift a hose in the air and drop it and make powerful siphon.

Great video, great product, but you didnt show his losses! hehe thats ok..at least he has the balls to admit his losses!
I say he is one to watch in the future for a refined design that we will all want~!

Agreed!!! I wish everyone showed the loss you get from any piece of equipment! The loss was like fly poop! I don't even know if you could have seen that in the video! He is working on another devise that is bigger, I cant wait until he gets it done!!! It was really nice to meeting all of you guys!

That unit would be perfect for sucking up the small gravel in small tight crevices in a creek that holds a ton of fine gold like that !!! So he is coming out with a bigger unit !!!! That unit had an unbelieveable amount of suction which is needed !!!! Is the battery a 12 volt or 24 volt ?

I really liked seeing this device in action but the only thing that bothers me is that he didn't mix the gold into the gravel he ran through. Since he started by showing the amount of gold that he was going to run and then adding material to the same pan its fairly easy to assume that the gold would be some of the last material to go through. Seeing how little material was left I can't help but wonder and question if that gold had been run at the start and the gold snare handled like someone would in a river hunched over or from a bucket would it be retained. Im not saying that this was intentional and I can understand if this was 100+ demonstration how you could streamline a presentation. Although if it was my device I would want to show the gold retaining ability regardless of the material put through before and after the seeded gold or at least a example of real world conditions where gold would be dispersed throughout your material. Since he said you can do a clean out by simply shaking it with out even removing the mat I can guess that keeping it level and steady is quite important and might be some thing better suited to a situation where you spend a day condensing material and then use the gold snare to process it all in a quick and fairly effortless manner in a a controlled environment. Has anyone had hands on experience with the gold snare that can put my questions and doubts to rest? Id love for this to work as adverstised Im just playing devils advocate.

+Luke Alotapus Doing a quick demo in a small tub for folks does limit showing how well the dredge works. Whenever I do any major testing I run 2-3g of material then 2-3g of salted material with a known gold amount then 2-3g of material afterwards. Catch all the tailings and check losses and capture. Testing also includes moving the dredge around in a variety of angles while testing the same way. It's round shape helps greatly because there is no way someone on the river could ever keep it perfectly held flat or level. Please check out my other video's and feel free to ask questions.

great video, idea, and product. I just have to ask if you use the same nuggets over and over, to what extent are they re-paned? Im not bashing im just trying to help the product, if it hasn't already been considered, but you might be like breading gold nuggets to stick in your goldsnare? like you pan them over and over and those are just the ones the mat always catches, might be something to think about when crunching number. you might have developed the goldsnare to catch your nuggets. or a specific type of nuggets, probably river nuggets? you have probably thought of this already, idk i'm rambling thanks for reading this! Also the blueberry bump was cool.

It would be great if the upper part of the chamber had a clear acrylic section, like a window to look at the mat and see the gold before you clean out.
