Sound like full time? And then switches to half time for the demonstration? I get it, but you should play the same groove to showcase the differences. It just sounds like two different patterns.
Another subtle, but effective addition to a simple groove.
I do something I call "rocking" where I keep the hand up but push it forward and back instead of straight up and down. So forward up, back down, over and over. Gives you that swing
I played some Drums like that the other day. They sound pretty good.
Accenting is key if you want to stand out as a drummer. Bravo!
Not a drummer but I program drums for music production. Probably also great the other way around to emphasise the offbeat a bit more and retain clarity in the attack on 1, 2, 3, and 4.

You are describing the Moeller technique. Going for the “freebee” up stroke is exactly that. If you and your viewers don’t know what Moeller is, please check out Jojo Mayer’s instructional on hand techniques.
It'll help when you want to learn the Moeller technique as well
Then, to sound real cool, invert the accents. Play the downbeat on the top of the hat, and the up beat on the edge. This will not only make your groove sound tighter, it'll also make you and easier drummer to mix when you're playing on an acoustic kit. A heavy hand on the hi-hat while playing a snare greatly limits the sound person, or mix engineer when it comes to how they can process the snare drum.
I use a push pull technique that has the same results and when it comes to 16ths and 32s you do t get worn out.

molar technique, been playing drums for awhile now, the wrist movement does take a little getting used to when you first try it
this kit sounds exactly like the default electric kit sounds
the moeller technique looks so much easier than it is. i can do it but it feels harder than playing just straight 8th notes so my wrist gets tired and its supposed to be easier and less tiring, i wanna be able to do this effortlessly but its taking too much effort.

The hand technique is called Molar or Push-pull. Also completely different groove and tempo in the demo?!? First groove slaps too, just gotta know when to use it.
Go watch Phil Rudd, he’s been putting down a groovy beat like this for AC/DC for decades, never misses a beat and always on time. True example of a solid drummer

So you can actually take this technique, do it with both hands and offset them to get some really fast hand-to-hand flams ;) Push-pull technique goes hard in the marching scene

Don't shank the hihat, even if it's a silly rubber one. Baseball batting your cymbals will make them sound rough, and will break them. Try playing the cowbell if you don't get what I'm saying. The cowbell wants to "ting" not "bonk".

Every single one of these videos, in the “after” groove they almost always add more kicks as well, as you did here. The whole groove was totally different? You’re doing so much more than JUST adding dynamics in your hi-hat rhythm.
It's art. Context and variety helps. No need to be so OCD to prove a point.

It’s easy just to play mollar on everything once you get the technique down. And not necessarily always for the better. Sometimes it’s a better idea to just play the hats straight. And she’s clearly trying to play a stiff example to turn this into a counterpoint

The only difference I heard was the change in beat
It doesn't have the annoying sound you'd hear in pop (constant, tinnitus like hi-hat). It's got the groove. Instead of "TS-TS-TS-TS-TS-TS-TS" it's "TS-T-TS-T-T-TS-T".
The second technique is more dynamic (also timbre-wise)
