The Root cause of behavioral issues...
The PARENTS are not teaching them how to act in public.

There is too much responsibility put on schools to stop inappropriate behavior. Parents are responsible. The district did not birth their child. Working together is great but Parents are in denial of what their children are doing. What is wrong with telling your child get on the bus after school and be home by a certain time. They are hanging out because they know they can.

Schools are NOT parents! Teach the kids to behave themselves. Teach them Accountability How to keep their hands to themselves. To treat EVERYONE with respect. Demand they set HIGH GOALS for themselves! Kids need a PARENT not a best buddy! If you leave it up to kids they will eat cookies for breakfast! YOU MUST TEACH THEM BETTER!

How are you going to "make" public transportation get the kids on the bus?! Have the police move the along and on their way if they are so concerned.
This is 100% a parent issue, not the school.

Why, when some of these parents kids are fighting despite the warnings. The parents talking about the suspension of the bus passes not being the solution, how about accepting that your kids are being sent to school to learn and not being taught how to behave on the way home. YOU CONTROL your kids or this would not be a plan of action!!

This problem started around 2001-02 when the State, City of Buffalo enforced by BPD begin arresting parents for disciplining their children. Parents were told their "methods" of discipline wasn't allowed & if reported (which teachers encouraged) the children will be removed frm the home and/or parents/parent will be arrested. Fast FORWARD today & NOW they (teachers, city & State) handed unruly, undisciplined children & teens back to parents. Yes this problem is out of control, but those who interfered with parenting put a nickel in that dime. This is a behavioral issue in BPS, but the burbs & south towns school children/teens has their own set of problems as well.

This is an IT TAKES A VILLAGE issue. Meantime, everybody in the village takes two step backs and points at the parents.
