      don't need to copy and drag shapes to the corners... just draw your shape in the middle and repeate it...

    Fantastic tutorial! I would like to add a tip: When duplicating the layers, always duplicate the original layer. Duplicating the other layers reduces crispness of the image, pixelation.

    This is the most straight forward simple tutorial with so much in under 15 minutes I've seen. As a person that knows how to use many softwares I was looking for a cost effective easy to use software for this purpose and you nailed it on how to! Thanks so much.     I line up the corners with the yellow lines both vertically and horizontally but the pattern is never right... there is overlap . Help Please!

    Thank you for providing such comprehensive instructions. I just bought procreate for designing patterns that can then be used to print out on vinyl using a cricut. For this reason, it's important to get the line size just right. So far ive only found one tutorial for this and it uses an imported image they also already have the canvas open so i dont know how to set the size and dpi.. Would you consider making a video on this process?

    I have just started my pattern journey with procreate and your tutorial is by far the best I have found!
    However, I am having issues when I resize my pattern squares..it leaves a little white mark on the edges. I make sure the orange cross hairs show up when moving, and the square is snapping in place. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

    After you created pink flower in layer 1 -at 2:27 and your white flower shows black bg, but mine shows pink. I tried n button and checkbox. Not sure what I haven’t done to get transparent like yours.

    Thank you for the tutorial. I think I have a basic question. I can’t figure out how to resize the Procreate window so that I can drop the image into your pattern tool. 12:55

      You can resize the window by dragging the grey handle that is in the middle between the two windows. You can see more closely in my Gestures video: bardotbrush.com/30-procreate-gestures-shortcuts/ It's the last one, the bonus gesture at 8:34 in the video.

      Try quitting your browser or try a different browser. Sometimes Chrome works better than Safari.

    Thank you so much! You explained it all so clearly! Would you recommend working in RGB or CMYK if you plan on bringing them to sites like Spoonflower? I think they mention wanting it in RGB but testing it in CMYK and that’s where I get all confused!

      I always work in RGB, just understand that some of the brightest colors (especially bright greens) won't print exactly like you see them on the screen. Check out the visual aids on this page to learn more: bardotbrush.com/make-stuff/#rgb-vs-cmyk

    I was about to pull my hair out trying to create a repeat pattern. Everytime I loaded it into Spoonflower, it looked pixelated and edges didn't appear to line up. The repeat software you show in this video SAVED MY LIFE...and my hair...lol THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

      It centers best when you only have one layer, or all other layers are turned off. Sometimes artwork that is large and closer to the edge has trouble snapping to the center vs the edge. I'd try turning down the distance and velocity sliders to see if that helps!
