Hopefully not. He’s not gonna be a Peekaboo swarmer anymore. Prone to counters.
Back then, Peekaboo style is the go-to fighting style for short fighters with short reach, like Ippo.
Ippo has learned new skills to cover his flaws. Judging with the skills he learned, (Parries, Insane footwork, Switch hitting, counterpunching) he’s going to transition into a Mid-Range Boxer-Puncher Switch hitter.

The title of the chapters is a call back too, during the sparring it was called a "white hot sparring" when Mashiba began to utilize the title fight strategy, and the first round of the fight was called a "white hot 1st round"

Mashiba knows that Ippo helped him a ton in that spar. You could tell by how he was waiting on Ippo to call him before the fight. I'm hoping that after the fight, Mashiba tells Ippo that he won't let his sister date a coward and pushes Ippo back in the ring. Basically, telling him that the only way a retired boxer could be as good as Ippo is if he's too afraid to get back into the ring.
I also think that Rosario is going to get desperate soon. Mashiba is already wearing him down due to his great defense, and even Rosarios' coach doesn't realize that Mashiba was able to spar with someone who can fight Southpaw on a world scale.

There's also a theory Rosario might actually be a switch hitter and not a natural southpaw. Ippo will obviously be better than both Rosario and Mashiba to even match Ricardo if Ippo does eventually fight Ricardo
