Hahah! Removing the walls is the best thing they did for actually selling homes and building a bigger neighborhood there. There are more homeowners that want a nice neighborhood than walking dead fans that want to be blocked by a wall.
That's really smart to build real homes as sets. They saved millions by doing so. I wish they would save the chapel also and turn it into TWD a museum or something. Idk if it's a real building though.
I like that Idea for the church becoming like a walking dead Alexandria museum. There can a Plague commemorating the series, a portion of the actual wall with history behind it, The welcome to Alexandria sign, the actual pictures that Aaron had when we first met him, props used by the actors, ect. even maybe a visual timeline of the area’s evolution from start to the day all the new houses are built. The timeline would tell terms of construction, set design changes like before the expansion to the church, after the expansion, When Negan attacked Alexandria, and what it looked like from season 9-11.
Why did this make me wanna cry? seeing these houses is like seeing the whole crew again and remembering those days when the show wasn't near its ending. i'll forever love the cast and amc for giving us the walking dead show.

I hope this is what happens in Doraville with the new studio developments. They will hopefully build lots of beautiful brownstones, homes and buildings in an urban streetscape that can be both filming location and real neighborhood.

We went there earlier,and the corrugated fence is down already,but I can still Imagine the street and the house of Rick Grimes feels like im watching the show, I cried because I can't believe I am able to see it in real life lol and kinda disappointed that the iconic fence is not there anymore. first time I saw the walking dead show when I was working in korea,then I went back home in the Philippines im still watching it,lateron now living here in the US and I can't believe I am going to get a chance to see it in person.btw we are from Wisconsin it's kinda sad that its not the same already like on the set,but im very happy that we get to see it!
Why not leave everything and sell it to a halloween production company to turn the whole thing, streets, houses, walls and all into a twd zombie nightmare paintball adventure/escape challenge.

I used to watch TWD religiously up until s.7 then I just lost interest of the show. I didn't bother with any of the spinoffs. You know the show went south when they got rid of Frank Darabont.

I'm amazed they actually built fully functional houses and not just sets that look real from the POV of where the camera is but then obviously just a set when you walk around the back, which is the usual thing to do. Good forward thinking though. They knew when they were done and put them up for sale their value would be real high because of their fame.
