Look damn good. I remember doing this to my 200sx in college. My roommates thought I was crazy when I put the lamps in the oven....haha

supakat500 it made a huge difference. Now that the guts are done the lens can be polished again with the car anytime.

Try Nu-Finish wax/car polish on the lenses. It works great for getting the lenses buffed out.

Nightmare of a job, mine came already blackedout, but had to get inside one to fix hazing inside.. hopefully never again.
Meguiars ultimate compound takes out most fine scratches and swirl marks, then something like autoglym polish after.
If you want the stone chips and other marks out of the front, you need to go to 400 or 240 grit sandpaper, then work your way back up to 2500grit, then use the compound and polish.
Or better still pay someone else to do it :)
8 minutes on 150 degrees in the oven worked for me, but even then took the skin off my finger re-smoothing rubber seal.

I ended up polishing them again not long ago. Look pretty good for 16 years old

Deet 40+ bug spray works wonders too. It basically eats off the first layer of plastic... yet we put it on our skin. 😬😂

I was wondering if you put a new layer of glue or RTV to reseal the headlight back together?

I didn't apply anything although one should if they have water intrusion. Some RTV will work fine

The kit uses a sandpaper and polish. Here's another video with a real polisher:
