Just restarted Skyrim again after a couple years because of Anniversary Edition. I'm trying to play different than I usually do which means Smithing. Great video! Thanks!
It is true, my statement was based off of an assumption that skill tree would be representative of items' strength (take a look when it was uploaded lol). However, because of the cap of 567, there really is no need to use any advanced armor type, as any armor can be driven to a point of ultimateness (including seemingly pathetic iron armor).
Smithing is my favorite skill and I run it with all of my characters, even mages. I always take Dwarven Smithing and go through the Unfathomable Depths and Lost to the Ages quests after which I usually have almost 400 Dwarven Metal Ingots. Then with Ancient Knowledge and the Aetherial Crown and I make Dwarven Bows to get Smithing from around 40 to 70 or so in just a few minutes. Then I get the rest of the ingots from Nchuand-Zel to finish smithing off to 100 and sell all the bows for training money.
First time playing skyrim in 2021! I tried playing it when it come out and my game kept bugging so I gave up. Really enjoying it now. Thanks for the guide
Awesome videos! I just got Skyrim VR (best game I've ever played, by far over original Skyrim) and I specifically search out your videos to catch up on stuff. Thanks a lot for posting them!
Thanks for the video! I just started playing this on my switch and wanted to learn how/what to improve. I'm playing as a thief/assassin with some illusion skills to aid in my stealth. Light armor seems like the way to go. Learning to enchant will probably aid in this.
Ive been playing Skyrim for YEARS. never finished the main quest lol. So many different builds. But somehow, I never really focused on crafting. Only now am I realizing what a coin generator high smithing skills can generate. Similarly potions can make a lot of coin too, with nearly no weight burden! I never want to finish skyrim!
Good question! Yes you can! Provided that your skill with Smithing gets higher you will be able to upgrade your weapons and armor further, even though you already upgraded them.
@TheImmortalizing Left tree is MOSTLY for Light Armor (with some Heavy Armor) + Glass Weaponry. Right tree is ONLY Heavy Armor + Daedric Weaponry. Bottom line: Daedric Weaponry is MUCH better than the Glass weaponry. P.S. - Dragon Armor is both Light and Heavy, so even if you go through RIGHT path you will get both best Light and best Heavy armors, when the time comes.
@orangeskillme12 In Smithing you follow either a left route or a right route. Left is for Light Armor and right is for Heavy Armor. In other skills there are two skills - Light and Heavy armor. Depending on which you will invest your perks in you will be better in a specific armor type.
Yes, it is correct. I use Dragonbone, because I already breached 567 Armor Cap and I like the way it looks. :) Don't forget to subscribe to the channel if you would like to support my work and get notified when new content becomes available!
What about the finding of these ores. You should've included a short guide about the mining as well. Also you could do a little mention that you get the recipes for smithing when you put a point in the perk. A lot of the people playing these kind of games are used to searching for recipes for the professions. Otherwise great guide.
To make daedric and ebony you will need ebony ore for both. The most ebony ore in a single mine is Gloombound Mine. The mine is in an Orc Stronghold called Nalzrbur. It's located south east of Kynesgrov. Daedric armor also requires Daedra Hearts. These can be obtained from dremora Lord's at the shrine of Mehrunes Dagon, during the mission pieces of the past. You can get 4 Daedra Hearts to be exact.
Man, come on, I'm good but not THAT good to look in the future! The video was uploaded on November 18, 2011! When I get my hands on Dawnguard, I'll make sure to make these updates, but right now you're asking this video to have what it could not have had ._.
@ThatVideoGuy1000 Nightingale is Light Armour, however it is also unique quest armour. Basically there is an issue with quest received armour and weaponry, they can't be properly upgraded most of the time, so they get to flawless level. Logically, you should have ONE of the L.A. Smithing skills, but I can't specify further, because there is no such material as Nightingale. You could RISK and go for L.A. in Smithing, but it might not pay off. Sadly, I can't confirm further than this.
Yeah, the reason why I went in light is because I was a silly person. Generally for any character I would suggest to go until Dragonscale using the right path. It is not necessary if you plan on exploiting the game, but in a fair play works very good :)
@xXCory0JamesXx But don't forget, Daedric is the best weaponry in the game! It pays off really well even for an assassin to go through the right tree and all the way to Dragon armor, because this way you have BEST weaponry and BEST armor (both Light and Heavy) Glad you like my videos :D
nightingale needs ebony smithing but requires void salts which there are two in the arch mage chambers of the college of winterhold, or you can make them in the atronach forge using salt pile. amathist. and soul gem
You guys are correct, I've just seen your argument. Daedric is on the HEAVY side. Why the f*** would I go all the way through right when I got all Light until Dragon to get then, eh? This guy doesn't know what he's going on about!
the best way to save skillpoints is to choose the heavy armor path to get the daedric armor+weapons witch are the best heavy armor and the weapons with the most damage in the game.
@xmiguelxxxx I never shown shields specifically, but you upgrade them just the sam like any other armor. Upgrade levels for shields are the same as for any armor.
@patrickejohnson56 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it! There is a very slim chance to find Daedric Armor and I myself have found the chestpiece :) As to general idea, yes I agree Heavy path is all the way (it gives you best weaponry too)!
so if i get it right. if you want to get level 100 then you have to do allot of smithing. will this not take very long because there is no reason to make armor or weapons that you will not use or will you be able to sell them for good amounts of gold.
So if I'm making an archer, and planning on using only light armour, should I just focus on the left side? Especially with the introduction of Dragonbone armour now? Or would you still recommend Daedric weapons?
hazeddon I would use dragon scale armour or glass.. They are both light and very effective I'm using glass but I upgraded it to have a 326 defence rating.. But yea I would use glass or dragon so if your playing an archer.. Go on the left side
Great vids, keep them coming! I have a question: You mentioned the workaround for the enchanted armor improving. I did not see you discussing it any further (did i miss something in the video?). I haven't tested, but does it go like that: "You find or make a weapon, improve it, then enchant it"? The problem is that i have the perk, but if i want to play it through another time, i might choose not to pick it :P.
the light armour side has better weapons all the way up to glass and then daedric has better weapons so you can go the light armour side and get deadric aswell after dragon armour.
Great video though but I'm saying for people who want dragon armor it's shorter but for people who want to stop at deadric and get the other armor sets like ebony the other side is faster😄👍
+Michael Bower Sure, good point! Truth be told, I was thinking more of reaching the last tier armors, rather than working on 567, which I probably should have mentioned.
@nikekid559 Thank you and you're welcome! Stay tuned for more content if you would like to see more and of course Subscribe if you wish to support me! :D
What if I have a steel dagger I improved early game into 'fine' but i want to make it legendary late game, will it do it by itself or will I have to improve it again?
@xXCory0JamesXx Me too in all honesty, however I'm positive they will be late. Once modding community started off it became pretty clear that even without Construction Set they were able to come up with great and very powerful mods. It is only a matter of weeks after Creation Kit released that we will see Dragon Weaponry. About DLCs from Bethesda? Really, they should fix all these nasty bugs first... else it seems really unfair to us as users.
Maty Navarro ehh daedric isn't really for evil characters considering the fact that throughout the series "good" characters, especially in oblivion, use and wear daedric equipment
True, but that is cuz leveling. Also, if you are a newcomer to the series and look at it for the first time, do you think of a good or bad guy? I know it is not evils since technically you need to kill evil, the Dremora, to get it.
@HostMikePushkin lets hope it fixes (jimmy) the dragon, who floates in mid air and almost cant be killed because it is flying trough mountains and floating in midair, dragonrend doesnt work either lol, confirmed on ps3 and xbox360
@k4l4suPP It's hard to make competitive enchantments without actually taking the enchanter's perks IF you are NOT exploiting. There is a known exploit to do rising quality enchantment, but I am again, against it :]
Dragon SCALE is light and dragon BONE is heavy :) In essence, it is both.
Very helpful video. I understood a lot and the way you speak it's very clear.
You did amazing display of grammar :P
I like your accent xD
Your tutorials are truly a godsend. They explain in detail, and and bring the subject into clarity. Thank you so much!
I feel like your guides are the most detailed on this site, however, there are no updated ones that include the DLC items :(
theenickyppp most if people doesn't buy those dlc's
They have newer ones but most use basics to just max it out nothing as indepth

I use Smithing potions, before smithing armor, getting great results.🐺
Awesome videos! I just got Skyrim VR (best game I've ever played, by far over original Skyrim) and I specifically search out your videos to catch up on stuff. Thanks a lot for posting them!
Glad I could help, this is really humbling.
Thanks for the video! I just started playing this on my switch and wanted to learn how/what to improve. I'm playing as a thief/assassin with some illusion skills to aid in my stealth. Light armor seems like the way to go. Learning to enchant will probably aid in this.
switch life
I have never seen a better guide, I totally understand it now 🙌
Appreciate it, warms my heart!

Amazing, this is really what i was looking for and what i needed. Perfectly explained and made videos! Ty

Vinilla version alert investing in the legendary or special edition (depending on what system you're using) opens up so much more
this tutorials are verry usefull (even after omost 4 years), thank you for uploading this.
@Xander Vincent SCH hahaha damn, i remember watching this 5 years ago
You forgot a odd feature. While dwarven armor is weaker then orcish armor dwarven weapons are stronger then orcish weapons. A really odd thing indeed.
Yeah that one always confused me

2020 that is haha
Thank you! I have a Russian friend so I can tell you are Russian. Great guide very much appreciated.
Andrew Wilson Cool Story Bro

You're completely right, somehow back in the day this eluded me.

With the dawnguard dlc you can craft dragon weapons
Good detail and commentary *thumbs up

I am glad you enjoyed it! I am a professional Russian :)
Good video very informative and easy to understand
Yeah, the reason why I went in light is because I was a silly person. Generally for any character I would suggest to go until Dragonscale using the right path. It is not necessary if you plan on exploiting the game, but in a fair play works very good :)
Good explanation, thanks
Thank you uploader.. u help me a lot with your tutorial
You're very welcome, Zack! Thanks for watching :D
@xXCory0JamesXx But don't forget, Daedric is the best weaponry in the game! It pays off really well even for an assassin to go through the right tree and all the way to Dragon armor, because this way you have BEST weaponry and BEST armor (both Light and Heavy)

Just first person. Third person is a little bit clunky for me, but I love seeing finishing animations for 3rd person perspective.
I really like your videos. Deadric has the best heavy armor but dragon has the best light. :) but needles to say I really enjoy your skyrim videos
@TheBrViewer no, this is ELSE Glass + Dragon, ELSE Daedric + Dragon. If you are an absolutely reckless individual you might want to take both :D
if you have the dawnguard DLC, dragonbone weapons are available with the dragon armor perk and are said to be much stronger than daedric weapons. :)
You guys are correct, I've just seen your argument. Daedric is on the HEAVY side. Why the f*** would I go all the way through right when I got all Light until Dragon to get then, eh? This guy doesn't know what he's going on about!
the new dragonbane weapons in the dawngaurd dlc look so awesome
@mejarjar2 buy a lot of iron ore/ingots and create many leather straps. Then, start making iron daggers until you have blisters on your fingers.
the best way to save skillpoints is to choose the heavy armor path to get the daedric armor+weapons witch are the best heavy armor and the weapons with the most damage in
the game.
@xmiguelxxxx I never shown shields specifically, but you upgrade them just the sam like any other armor. Upgrade levels for shields are the same as for any armor.
I was 5 minutes in before realizing this video is like 10 years old. was confused when you said there was no dragon weapons
in your specific case, yes.
Arcane Blacksmith enables you to improve weapons with an enchantment on it at the grindstone.
@patrickejohnson56 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it!
There is a very slim chance to find Daedric Armor and I myself have found the chestpiece :)
As to general idea, yes I agree Heavy path is all the way (it gives you best weaponry too)!
What are your thoughts on the dlc that they are making? I really hope that they add dragon weapons and arrow smithing
Great video, Thanks for the info.
Thank you!
so useful my khajiit friend
There are mods which change that, for example the mod I use enables me to take daedric after the enhancing of enchanted items perk.
so if i get it right. if you want to get level 100 then you have to do allot of smithing. will this not take very long because there is no reason to make armor or weapons that you will not use or will you be able to sell them for good amounts of gold.
Question: Is the right tree only for heavy or can you also use it for light?
So if I'm making an archer, and planning on using only light armour, should I just focus on the left side? Especially with the introduction of Dragonbone armour now? Or would you still recommend Daedric weapons?
Go for light armor and get all the perks and make them legendary I'm a archer/light armor myself it works well with a full light armor perk tree
hazeddon I would use dragon scale armour or glass.. They are both light and very effective
I'm using glass but I upgraded it to have a 326 defence rating..
@xSlimShadyZx No, not only Heavy armor! Dragon Armor lets you craft ALL kinds of Dragon armor, Light and Heavy.
My blacksmithing is at lvl 19 are there any stradegies that u have to lvl up quickly
Thank you so much.got yourself a like and a sub.
oh, got it, thanks ;), keep doing great tutorials ;)
Strongest is armor in the game is Daedric, Heavy Dragon Armor, and then Ebony Armor.
use the Atronach Forge for your daedric weapons.
I can live with that, at least now it will feel remotely realistic and Smithing will become a money sink.
So, the deadrick weppons are the best? They do the most damage?
If I only want to upgrade Nightingale to legendary what perks do I need?
Great video though but I'm saying for people who want dragon armor it's shorter but for people who want to stop at deadric and get the other armor sets like ebony the other side is faster😄👍
+Michael Bower Sure, good point! Truth be told, I was thinking more of reaching the last tier armors, rather than working on 567, which I probably should have mentioned.
@TheRechify You mean you've upgraded it or it dropped as such? Seems pretty damn strong :)
Thanx helped alot! keep up the videos. Where are you from?
@nikekid559 Thank you and you're welcome! Stay tuned for more content if you would like to see more and of course Subscribe if you wish to support me! :D
Can I get both Daedric AND Glass even if I go through the "Heavy Armor path" ?
@HostMikePushkin I think i know which glitch you mean, but that was not my point. I guess i have to test what i was thinking :P.
Thanks for the reply!
@xmiguelxxxx oh, but you can! Every piece of armor in the game can be upgraded!
can i upgrade allready upgraded armor like from flawless to epic?
So your saying its better not to put any perks in smithing and just lvl it to 100?
do u play first person or third?Or u play first/third combo
So to level up your smithing all you have to is make and upgrade stuff things in the forge?
Yeah!
Wait can't I get daedric smithing after I get dragon smithing?
how can it be upgraded i didnt see it in ur tutorial
great for help with what your doing and doesn't know how to work the smithery in the kingdom's 10/10😉😉😉😉😉😃😃😃😃😃
It's actually longer Cuz I don't care about dragon armor I care about deadric armor and I counted the other path gets to deadric faster
thanks a lot
I never quite understood what Arkane Blacksmith does, Can someone please explain it to me?
u got a glitched game and u r lucky that the glitch is so usefull
Its not high quality its superior
Daedric armor is actually better than Dragon armor
do you hvae limited skill perk unlocks?
Near the end of the video I saw a body underneath the bridge. Lol
Lies, it's an optical illusion. I assure you, there is NOTHING there.
can some discribe this to me I'm confused how does it go from fine to superior do you have to be level 40
Hi QuickSaveTV, is it possible to make Iron weapons Legendary?
I honestly do not remember, but I think yes. The way I remember it is it relies on your skill level at smithing, not on item itself.
What if I have a steel dagger I improved early game into 'fine' but i want to make it legendary late game, will it do it by itself or will I have to improve it again?
It does it by itself but you have to make it legendary by yourself. It upgrades the more you use it or any dagger
Really, they should fix all these nasty bugs first... else it seems really unfair to us as users.
okay this is maybe a bit olt but can you not go from dragon to deadric?
***** daedric is the best though, it has the highest armour rating out of all armours (including DLC armours)
idk lol
Mor aesthetically pleasant for people, especially for role players who aren't evil characters, and Dragon Bone weapons are stronger.
He probably has a mod to make no prerequisites for armor etc,etc
There is no way, sadly. You can cheat and create a super potion in order to smith it much better, but none of the perks will help :(
Imagine, dragon bone weapons!
;)
dragon bone weapons are available in dawnguard DLC
+Trafalgar.D Water Law I know but I don't have the dlc and qnd I have spent for ever smiting a longhammer and now just kill everybody with beserk
no you can get all the light armours, then dragon and then daedric, thats what i did.
