Been hardening off my tomatoes and peppers great BUT this whole weekend here in the Carolinas will be constant rain and about 4 inches so gotta wait until next week to get them in the soil 💚💚💚
I’m going to be honest, I’ve never acclimated my tomatoes 🙈🙈woopsie. Because I have a bunch at home and at my grandparents, I’m always backwards and forwards between the two. I don’t really have time to do it. I’ve always found they cope fine though….
Every year I learn how to do it a little better. Some varieties are just stronger but I still sometimes get a little sunburn on my leaves but they mostly bounce back.
Yea - I can't grow Sunflowers of any type. Even started indoors to create big plants to put out. Short of wire mesh or Chicken wire cages (including the top)...... I mean.... sometimes we just have to let go of our dreams. ETA: Beautiful property - but those stairs without Railings scare me. One slip.... 15" Shims from Home Depot - you get around 45 for about $6 bucks. They work great.

Oh yes. It’s definitely some hard long hours of work but in my opinion it’s so worth it.

I’m not ready to give up yet. If I can just get enough stuff in my yard and maybe distract them from my sunflowers. 🌻 ❤️
Have you tried putting the cheap wire baskets from Dollar Tree over the sunflowers until they get bigger? Just a thought.
I’ve done that with gourds but not sunflowers. I’m using peppermint oil to try to deter my cute little pests.

I think the bigger ones are working better. I’ve actually wrapped them around my precious seedlings
Why do rodents eat the seedlings instead of waiting for them to grow bigger 😩
