In September 2022, a patient was injured at a Georgia hospital, and they hired a lawyer to prepare a demand letter. The lawyer suggested that the maximum demand was for a traumatic brain injury due to negligence from the hospital, care team, and doctors. The patient suffered blood and a large gash on their head, and no incident report was ever filed. The patient was drowsy, slept, and had fluids draining from their head. They experienced severe pain and pressure in their brain, and the same night after inpatient discharge, they returned to the hospital for stomach pains and a headache. They were informed that they had been accidentally dropped on their head, causing a heart attack of 197 beats per minute. The patient was referred to a hyperbaric clinic, which was mentioned in the notes.
Another doctor explained that it is common for moderate to severe TBI victims to have heart attacks or heart failure due to brain swelling. The patient was advised to file the demand letter as self-represented, but they figured it would be a better way to stand a chance of sticking it to the hospital and their medical malpractice. They are asking for help and a lawyer to represent them.

The patient would probably be better off if they have a lawyer on their side.

Altogether, what's the average time to draft, file, and serve a lawsuit to someone in your city?

Drafting the suit and initial discovery goes pretty fast in most cases (less than half a day). There are exceptions for things like medical malpractice, fraud, etc. Filing is very fast now that we can file the lawsuit electronically. Assuming there aren’t any problems locating the defendant, we can usually get it done within a few days if we use a private process server. If the Defendant is MIA, it will take substantially more time.

@joelwilliams609 thanks for the reply. Your 52 weeks of personal injury is priceless for a client.
