just did this mission with the exact same tactic, you can get all the protoss artifacts if you have the orbital command upgrade from the hyperion armory. just take out the defense for the first one with your banshees and get it with a marine, for the other 3 you want to search up their location on the internet, then safe 100 energy on your orbital and scan the area and drop a mule next to the artifact. you will get 2 in time and for the last you will have to lift of your orbital, fly to the right in between your base and the near expo, then fly upwards once you have 100 enegery and land. there will be a squad coming to take out the orbital but you should have enough time to scan and drop a mule. make sure to save the game before tho! :) hope that helped
Holy crap the MULE idea is genius. That makes getting the second one a lot easier and prevents you from losing Banshees and units early in the level. I've been using a Viking to fly in and drop down to the ground for the 3rd and 4th artifacts, but this is perfect. Thank you! :)

Well great. It seems that for every tutorial I'm finding it uses vikings, but vikings are the only units I don't have yet (On purpose, I'm holding off on Haven, and not because it's too hard). Is there any good walkthrough that DOESN'T use vikings?
Yea it fucks you up hitting the first few bases when they have the ground crystal. Then the third and everything after has those prisms and as you know your banshee only targets ground. I really hate that they force you to play one way which is rushing/against the clock.
"You can actually take as long as you want, there is no time limit to this mission at all" The firewall closing in on everything says otherwise, plus constantly pushing you towards enemy. Perfect example of timed mission along with mostly all the others, but its even worse in co-op.
I can imagine this strategy would be even easier with both Viking upgrades (especially the range upgrade - they'll be far enough away from Warp Prisms that the Photon Cannons won't be able to fire upon them), as well as some of the researches.
Didn't realize i could make Vikings on this mission. I was going to lose my mind. Made it all the way to the last mineral line multiple times but would get slaughtered by the Carrier and and Templar just destroying my army. Fuck.
I'm doing all achievements once more on another account. I was wondering how I did this back then. Now I remember 🤣 Thx again. Fun thing how much glitches/cheeses has been discovered during the years, but this is still the easiest solution for Supernova by far.

I came here due to the stress this mission has and the fact that my mental disorders make me overreact to the fire and i make units and attack too soon. then i lose becuase i dont have time form ore units .-.
strategy is great! made it today so it is actual :) what is more, when making it first time, ive lost many vikings when running on the top edge. Finally only 5 vikings left and make it :) greetingz and thank you! :)
Daniel Travel I've also done ir without any upgrades just to see if it was possible. it works if you just build more air units then i suggest to make up for the lack of special units and you need to be patient with your vikings.
I like this campaign but realistically the only mission that is hard on brutal is the last one haha. this entire game can also be done with zero upgrades and without use of additional unites (except the maw of the void)

15-20 banshees with 2/2 upgrades can do it the same way without vikings
Dawid Zwiewka did you try it? i really dont think that will be possible to train 15 banshees at starting base, not alone upgrade 2/2

lol i used to do side sneaks a lot in BW since many missions required destroying an object or reaching a beacon

If you want to grab the research while doing this just use a ghost or spectre (preferably spectres) with infinite cloak to grab all the research.

It's not your fault, its theirs for forcing you to play a certain way on top of being timedx2 with that firewall.

Well if you're just trying to beat on brutal for the achievement you can just go back and do the level on hard afterward.
The view on what is hard is dependent on the player, not realism.

Perhaps because they haven't chosen to do Haven before Supernova.
Its good to do Supernova first. Having a few banshees in the mix helps with ground units.
I'm a bit late and youve probably figured this out already, but you can just click Abort Mission and select the Haven one.
But why the barrack?
So you don't technically lose your base entirely, it'll be your only structure left after the firewave.
