From USA and he covers them. He also makes me sandal from the fabric. Absolutely Beautifully. He was at the old Central market. I hope I can find him next time I visit. The young people have great ideas. African people can do and make anything. They are super intelligent!!! I love Africans. In USA the shoe makers does not want to repair shoes. Hey! We had a local cobbler who used to take so long in finishing repairs, only to learn that he was subbing the repaired shoes to others!! Esp during special events like Christmas when ppl needed high heels/shoes to go clubbing!! He'd later repair agn & give it to the owner; of course for his fees!!Crafty devil! 🤣🤣 I'm sure Kwame is an exception 👍🏾He's one of the unsung heroes in our communities. Thanks Jasmine 😘

In my high school days , I was asked to write a composition imagining that I was a shoe . My essay therein that I composed was a big fat man who had me as his only pair of shoes . Lo and behold I soon began to wear out that he took me to the cobbler for mending and I am still with the cobbler , Kwame .

Kwame’s work reminded me shoe repair shops back home in Pakistan in my youth but now a days it’s rare to see them since markets are flooded with cheap Chinese footwear. These skilled workers are admirable since they do a great service to their communities. Wish governments can offer them some sort of social security or pensions when they get old and no longer can work.
