What's your go-to riff? Help a fellow guitarist out with some recommendations! Maybe I'll play one of them at the show in the fall ;)

Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane" always loosens me up and makes me feel funky.

Inertiatic ESP by The Mars Volta
i don’t need no doctor by john mayer
I had my first show 2 days ago and this is exactly how my brain reacted
Man I’ve been there .lol
😂😂
Just get reps in,over time live isn't any different then when your practicing, as long as you stand up while practicing lol
The first time I played live I watched like 5 different TH-cam videos on how not to be nervous when playing live and it actually kinda worked.
I mean we played bad but I wasn't nervous💀
My first live show was actually opening up for a rap group. If it wasn’t for those guys hotboxing the backstage area, I would’ve been a lot more nervous for my first gig 😂
Great video Tyler! I've been a rock singer my whole life. I've done gigs for 20 people, 100 people and over a thousand people. On stage, I'm on fire. Anything and everything goes. But, when a small group of friends asks me to sing at a party I completely lock up. This video is sooooo true!! Looking forward to your new music.
It's funny, I can play a gig in front of people with no issue, but if one person says play me something suddenly I have never played before. THis is spot on... Thanks Tyler
The blend of those riffs at the end of the video is awesome. Looking forward to hearing more.
This 100% applies to me whenever I have anyone in front of me. Or if i want to play something that i at one point knew but haven't played in like a day......
Tyler, I just have to say my hat really goes off to you! Over the last few years I have watched you grow tremendously through your channel. I know the time and effort it takes to just be able to hack through some standards, or be able to hang at a jam. There is no argument you are a great player. Aside from the instrument, the time spent listening, transcribing, time learning about gear etc. you have been able to hang with some of the best people in the industry! To have relationships with Mr PRS himself, Session cats like Tim Pearce and the numerous virtuoso powerhouse players, your doing something right!! There will always be haters out there but you get to make a living playing your instrument and doing what you love. Not being a slave to an hourly wage selling your own life for less than it’s worth. We know all too well how fame and fortune can destroy bands and artists yet not many people really understand the immense amount of work and hustle that it takes to be a working musician today. This video is great. Sooooo true. Hope you are enjoying your new LP by Patrick eggle, just don’t forget to give that 594 and SC245 some lovin too.
The Hendrix Rage baby riff is one of the best things I've heard this decade
DUDE!!! I gotta say, man, been watching you for several years and the place you've gotten to with this channel is incredibly impressive. I've been a writer producer in LA for 30 years, won a few awards, had some hit shows and I have to say, as someone who knows crap when he sees it, you my friend, are not making crap! Your production values, editing, direction and acting are really pretty amazing. Clearly you've been putting your whole heart and soul into this since it started and well, it shows. Good on you brother. Thank you for this incredible channel. As a former student of the late RR, I can tell you without hesitation, he would have dug the hell out of what you do. Keep it up, man. Keep it up!!!
One of your best videos ever Sir,I know the shooting and editing must have been no half day for sure so thank you for the Stellar content and all of the hard work and time that goes into something meaningful, memorable, entertaining and uplifting.
Funny - and really well done (seriously)! I especially like the way you mock the crap out of everyone in the guitar sales and TH-cam gear review business when you imagine playing those completely different licks on entirely different guitars. Classic!
This video is absolutely quality 🔥🔥keep up the good work👍👍
This masterpiece must live on for ages to come
Chester Cornell Cobain Benington is so relatable man.
My band and I played our first bar gig a few weeks ago and when it came time to do our sound check I looked out at the bar room and saw a few people that showed up early and completely forgot how to play guitar. Good to know all guitarists can relate
Thanks for the reference to my brother... he would have been laughing his butt off! It is always an honor to hear him memorialized even if just by name! Awesome!
🍻
could you explain the backstory?
WHAT an amazing way to promote this. So freaking well done, I didn’t even pick up on it til Blaze said “can’t do it live”, I was just enjoying the vid 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely loved this. I can see so much effort went into it and you pulled it off so well. I don't even play guitar but I love your videos and your relationship with the camera that is so casual.
How is he even this good at making comedy videos geez! Love your stuff Tyler!
I know a thousand songs, but when anyone asks me to play something I can't think of ONE!!
This concept reminds me of a scene from the movie "Everything you ever wanted to know about sx but were afraid to ask" Very well executed indeed.
That was amazing. Good luck with the shows!
Perfect ending. “DO IT LIVE!”
This is practically early days Tyler with better production values. That was awesome man!
Haha. You sort of did for me what Steve Vai did for you. Thank you for mixing that blue suit with that blue strat, even if it was brief.
P.s. Ooooh, an album is forthcoming? I'm there.
This is SUPER exciting!! Can't wait to hear it, congratulations.
These video edits are amazing man always love the great content
The ending with the O’reilly “we’ll do it live!!” had me rolling……genius.
That was awesome Ty! Can't wait for the big day, I am sure it will be so cool!
Tyler production was amazing also the video in general!!!!!!! You're a rock and guitar machine, thank you for the video!
Tyler, as always fun video. Can't wait to catch the new album!
Dude, you are an amazing guitarist and TH-camr, but there is something much bigger here. This was both hilarious and genius.
Good luck, Tyler! You can do it! 🔥🔥🔥🤟
Can't wait to hear the new album!
The production quality is insane
Congrats on the upcoming album release Tyler! Loved the Back to Basics EP.
Thrilled to hear you are releasing an album, can't wait! Good luck at your opening performance!
Also, RIP to Chet's namesakes. Lost but not forgotten.
No one sings like them anymore.
Hilarous alll the way through. Extra props for using the Bill O'Reilly "we'll do it live" clip at the end.
"Chester Cornell Cobain Bennington!" 🥲
Great stuff, very entertaining and an excellent promo!
I watch your videos casually when the algorithm throws them my way, but this one earned you a sub. So funny and the playing was killer. Very original. Great job!
Oooooh... this is familiar, it's happend to me a bunch of times. I love the way you put this senario together so funny.
I've been watching your content for years and you are getting better. Keep up the great work & looking forward to hearing your new album.
Great to see you working on your performance and stage presence! That vai concert hit hard! :)
Rippin’ it up in the beginning! Editing is working for the bits so well!
this is the best video in a while. well done buddy
This video was brilliant Tyler. The music sounds great and I look forward to the release. I'll support the Album but won't see you perform as I'm in the UK and definitely can't afford a holiday to Nashville. I have no doubt it will all be received exceptionally 😊
EPIC! One of your best ever! Thanks for the fun factor!
Totally how it is. Nice to know that we’re not alone. 👍🏼
Yep. I can wail like EVH and Slash's baby in my bedroom with the headphones on, but put me in front of an audience of one or more, and I freeze up like a tadpole in an icy pond.
i like your little sketch vids. keep em comin.
Those riffs are sensational, well done
5:53 Nice self inflicted burn!
Look forward to new album
Rock on
I am laughing myself all over this video. What a great vid and it is so funny. What a mind to come up with this. Great stuff!!!!
i’m lovin the dedication to make this video hahsha
You should win an award for that one my friend!!! That was beyond great!!! 😎😎
Been a subscriber for years. This is the funniest guitar video I think I’ve ever seen. Keep it up, Tyler 😂
Good for you, brother!! Looking forward to it. I live in Gallatin so I have a chance at being there.
Ready to see more news dude.. Hope it all goes well! I can relate to this video lol. I keep telling myself more practice will ease the fears of making a mistake. Hopefully, I'll listen and just go play live sometime. You got this and an album debut at a venue is great. It means more to the fans, I think. More of a reason to show up.
Excellent video!!!
Cant wait gettin my hand on that Album friend. Keep Shreddin
Ok made it to the end and the “we’ll do it live!!!!” Sound clip revived the vid
Great episode!
Im 14, I’ve been doing worshipping at my church, sometimes I play I front of tens, or hundreds, and sometimes a bit over 2k, no matter where, or when, this will always happen 😢
Love this.
Absolutely love it
I started playing live when I was 8 in school concert band then moved up to marching and jazz band all through high school. Played bass, drums and guitar for the last 30 years in bands. I am 48 now and this still happens to me. I don't think it ever goes away. But luckily it lasts a whopping 2 seconds then its business as usual. Cool video concept btw lol.
This is such a totally *perfect* video Tyler, made me laugh so much :) I literally experienced this a couple of days ago, it's nightmarish haha
Hillarious!
This is the kind of content I subbed for, many years ago.
Spot on. Phenomenal
You know your stress level jumps up a little...when "Blaze" pokes his head in the door.
Angus Young vibes in the look when playing "live" in this video. The suit/tie did it. 💯
keep up the great content bro! We're her for it!
Brilliant dude.
You're mad talented!
even the preview of his new album(hopefully) is fire!!!!
I am really rooting for you. Hope the show will be great. Break a leg.
Love the content
You have to come and play live in denmark, i really want to see you play
HELL YEAH dude. Loved this sketch lmao 😭
That song at the end is so freakin' good! The first riff especially!
im not sure what i watched, but i loved every second of it LMAO
Lookin fit man! I see Chet has been working hard! Congrats on balancing out some string time for some gym time!
I can relate to this, and I can't wait to see the movie..
