I use the lower and lean method with the conduit. I put my horizontal bar at 7 ft so I could reach the top without a ladder. Since my plants are on a slope that I've terraced a ladder would be dangerous. I also put my conduit over rebar that I drove into the ground for stability. I use maker pipe connectors to connect the conduit. Probably more expensive but they can be removed and changed around or disassembled for storage if wanted.
I'm in San Diego four miles from the Coast. Where are you in California? I've been trying to find a utube gardener with similar situation and yours looks good.

Hi Evelyn, the rebar is a good solution to support the vertical pieces! We drove the conduit into the ground about 1 1/2 feet in the raised bed. Smashing the ends of the conduit with a vice was very simple and the connecting bolts can be removed if we wanted to modify the structure. We are located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, not a lot of space for large gardens but we are making the best of it! Thanks for watching!

Hello, we have a picture of the clips and part number in Part #1 of the series. Easiest way to find them on Amazon is to search on “Tomato Trills Clips”. We just ordered again and bought the MGTech Store 300 pack. The sunlight really does a number on the clip plastic integrity, two growing seasons max.
