You make a sponsored video so entertaining!!! I would watch your videos even if they would be 100% advertising. That's a talent!... And what a treat for your sponsors!!!
Man the fact that Squashy, who made osu content in the past, has to explain what the game is to viewers who potentially have no knowledge of it is wild to me.
As a daily user / gamer myself who owns the strix azoth wireless…. Wo was also my first word accompanied by a bunch of shock and love. I uses pre lubed browns and they are so far different than any of the other brown switches I’ve tried. I really think pre lubed switches have a new spot in my heart. The latency and response time is far better than any other wireless gaming keyboard I’ve tested as well. I’ve had it for about two months now and I haven’t had any complaints at all. Other than it maybe a bit on the heavy side but that’s also a feature to some. It’s been amazing
Yes! Finally someone that mentioned about latency, I realised many custom keyboards (Taobao keyboards like Zuoya GMK67 ahem...) do not always put their specifications of their PCBs other than connectivity and I always wondered if their latencies and polling rates are 1000hz or on par with gaming keyboards as I've seen a small amount of pro players on the big stage that use custom keyboards too!
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I can totally relate to your concerns about latency and polling rates in gaming keyboards. While custom keyboards like the Zuoya GMK67 may not always provide detailed specifications, there are some reliable options out there. In terms of cleaning, I highly recommend the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact and versatile device that offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it perfect for maintaining a spotless environment in your desk area and beyond. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Would have been good to have him see if he could tell the difference between the asus board wireless and the custom wireless given the much lower polling rate. It was pretty clear that at this point wireless is pretty indistinguishable from wired given how much we've progressed, but I was interested to know if tbe custom scene's choice for lower polling rates is good enough or not.
Hey there, Based on your comment, it seems like you're interested in the difference between wireless gaming keyboards with varying polling rates. While wireless keyboards have come a long way, custom setups with lower polling rates can still have an impact. If you're looking for a reliable tool to maintain your desk, car, and more, you might want to consider the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it an efficient and versatile device for cleaning. Hope this helps with your query!
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I'd say gaming keyboards are still worth it if you prioritize a high-quality typing experience and additional features like customizable macros and RGB lighting. However, wireless keyboards have come a long way and offer great performance nowadays. When it comes to lower polling rates, testing different options would definitely help determine the optimal choice. By the way, have you ever considered the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for maintaining your desktop setup? It's a powerful vacuum and blower in one, perfect for keeping your keyboard and other gadgets clean!
LMAOOO .. showing a Luxury and Sports Car then suddenly drop a whack ass car there in a context of Keyboard reminds me of that 5 dollar Cadeve Keyboard xD
Ngl walked into Challenger saw that keyboard in the shop thinking it was gonna be clicky blues and got surprised it felt pretty good, now I know why it had a nice typing experience.
of course if you buy some outrageously expensive custom it's gonna be more expensive. also, AFAIK most customs nowaday have (at least the option of getting) rgb?? like even the keychron v1 has rgb
in my country vietnam there are vendors who sale custom keyboard from taobao (china) with shockingly low price, i'm talking 40 - 60$ keyboards that will put gaming keyboard into shame because they are wireless, aluminum, and per-key rgb with customizable macros etc,...
Honestly, if I'm late to the custom keyboard scene, I'll actually buy this as my first keyboard. (I already have one, so not interested :) It's mechanical keyboard features are worth more when compared to previous gaming keyboards.
Can You recommend a good budget keyboard I have a razor keyboard and it’s horrible I have been trying to find a better one for a while now but I’m also broke so I could really use your help with finding one. Also love your vids
Hey squashy, you should review Nuphy's new field 75 keyboard. It also has 1000hz, polling rate wireless. It also includes a lot of foam, and prelubed switches/stabs. It is too mounted.
I've built a few custom keyboards myself, and as nice as they are, the real issue is that I can never really find the exact configuration I want. Almost all of them are those tiny 60% things and/or designed for normal size switches, and I much prefer a full-size low-profile keyboard. Also neeeeed a volume wheel and a mute toggle button. Ticking all 4 of these boxes at once used to be easy in the day of membrane keyboards, but in the mechanical era it's nigh on impossible. At the moment I've had to settle for a Razer Deathstalker V2, and it was expensive :'(
@@thisisobviouslybait I checked various mechanical keyboard sites as well as places like aliexpress etc. even for premade keyboards like the Razer one I'm currently using. There are a very small number of the premade ones (Logitech G815/915 was another option, but isn't USB-C), and I couldn't find anything custom at all. If you have an suggestions, I'd be very grateful! Also nice username btw :)
Keychron and NuPhy make low profile. But they are both bad. Bad battery life, bad RGB, bad wireless range, bad latency, bad software, both have swelling batteries that ruin the whole keyboard. And dozens of other issues. So they might as well not exist. Furthermore, low profile switches and boards will always be noisy due to lack of dampening in the case and switches. I got a Scope II 96 since it ticks all boxes. Wireless, battery, build quality, RGB, latency, sound and moddability.
@@MyAmazingUsername Yeah, sadly neither Keychron or NuPhy keyboards have low-profile options with media keys (aside from that weird ergo-shape Keychron). As for the other bits, I don't especially need wireless though, just fullsize with media keys. And for the sound, it doesn't really bother me since I wear headphones most of the time - I just prefer the typing experience of LP keys. I get that it's a very niche set of requirements nowadays, but it's a shame there are so few options ^^
@@frosted_cupkate I agree. I started out this search looking for a low profile keyboard. But I learned that I had never tried a GOOD standard profile keyboard. :) I went directly from chiclet scissor laptop-style (Logitech MX Keys) to a Scope II 96, and the Scope is infinitely more comfortable and accurate to type and game on. You can also replace the keycaps with low-profile if you prefer the upper surface feeling of those flatter/smaller caps. As for key travel distance, low profile and standard keyboards have the same travel distance in the switches! So don't worry about that. They're identical! 3.2 millimeters on both! Meaning that your finger goes equally deep into both keyboard styles! But yeah, I agree that there's a lack of good low profile keyboards. Even if you plan to use Nuphy or Keychron wired, they both require battery to preserve their onboard settings (they get factory wiped if they reach 0% battery or you remove the battery). But then you run into the battery swelling issue (Google it, basically the Nuphy and Keychron keyboards self-destruct due to poor quality batteries). So for me, they aren't an option. In addition to all their other low quality issues.
Got this and just sent it back. I'm not a touch typist and need to see the keys. Some of the lighting effects are good but the letters on the keys are dark so even with the RGB going it doesn't work for me. The wrist pad is good but the keys still sit a little high for me. Build quality does seem good.
Do you have any suggestions of a similar sounding/feeling switch to the NX Snow? I think a big part of its sound profile is the POM bottom housing. It’s just so smooth and subtle sounding, not too loud.
I have tried both Logitech and Razer Expensive wireless keyboards playing Tekken7 and Tekken8 both are not comparable to any wired keyboard and also not close to controller, now i am thinking to make a keyboard like controller by Taki out controller circuit and connecting to a frame with keyboard keys. What u think?
Only if it use hall effect switch like the wooting he60. Having a low latency keyboard definitely will set it apart from normal custom keyboard for gaming.
I don't know, for 99% of us having that level of latency will not be felt. I feel like adding gamer to anything and some RGB is just a sales gimmick, I game quite often on my pc from FPS games to ARPG's and what i find make the biggest différance is the feedback from the switches and keys over a random latency number.
Ive been using a Razer Blackwidow Elite with yellow switches for at least 3 years now and havent had any problems with it. Sounds good, feels good and only cost ~$130. Just dont see the point in upgrading to a custom keyboard that's probably gonna cost me at least twice as much as long as mine still works.
Question, Can you disassemble the keyboard all the way down to the pcb? You're the only person who showed how to even open it, though didn't note or show it all the way down to the pcb. I would assume you just remove all the switches and it'll separate?
hey that keyboard is hot-swappable and do you know which switches fit to that keyboard? Can I just use regular cherry mx switches and will that work fine?
