This was a great tutorial. I do however feel like the band should get stereo priority over vocalists. Band members play off of each other, and many instruments like guitars and keys often run in stereo. I feel like it’s vastly more important and beneficial for them to have a stereo field as opposed to singers
Hudson Hargrove that's a great comment. I've been giving thought to that lately as we've grown with this setup. Maximizing stereo ops across the band... thanks for the thought too!
Hi, I have a question, why in the m32q app, the icons of instruments 🎸 show for each channel, but, when I type the name , for that instrument, name doesn’t appear .. if you can help with that.. thanks
Hi, thank you for the tutorial I tried to play it in my church however the app doesn't broadcast sound on my ear I can only hear sound on the floor monitor. Thank you so much.
Correct! This is a controller, rather than an audio device. This should control the levels coming out of your floor monitor, or wireless beltpack. That's it's purpose.
Hi Jeff, great video! I am curious as to why you moved from the P16 monitor mixing to the M32Q. Is there a significant difference in mixing from the P16 to M32Q other than the amount of channels you can mix?
Andrew - the was THE factor! Total control of ALL channels, instead of having to settle for 16 channels only, or groups needing to be edited by the engineer.
Great tutorial. Thanks! Is anyone in your band using the Android app? If so, do you know if you can create the quick sub folders you mention at around the 8 minute mark in Android? I'm not seeing any option to do that on my phone, though I haven't used it with my band yet. Trying to figure it all out before getting together with them. Thanks in advance.

what generation of ipad or android do you recommend?
I downloaded the app and all the functionality works except I'm getting no audio out of the headphones. What am I doing wrong?
Question: where are the headphones plugged into? Remember, the iPad is essentially the mixer for you, it's NOT where the sound comes from. So you'll need to plug your headphones into either a belt pack, or a P16 unit as described in the video.
The iPad or iPhone is not a sound source. It controls only. So no sound is heard there.
Our app isn’t working properly, the channels don’t match what the X32 mixer? Can you point us in right direction.
Hmmm... not sure what to say... assuming your IP address is matching, meaning you're talking to the board, and you're NOT in 'Demo' mode... I'm really not sure. Sorry!

marcos obiang Glad you liked it! We're loving the M32-Q app... So, as long as you link your Buses at the board (ie link Bus 1 and 2, then 3 and 4, etc) they'll be linked in the app. Once linked, you can pan in stereo. If NOT linked at the board, you'll be mono channel only.

Can use just the app and ear buds, or do I have to get other equipment?
The app controls the board bus/in ear monitor mix, so yes, you would have to have a way to receive that mix. For example, through physical connection like a P16 unit on stage, connected to the board via Cat5 cable, or through a wireless belt pack, where you wear the belt pack on stage while the transmitter is connected to the board. In both cases, you can then use the app to control your mix that you're receiving in your ears. Hope that helps.

Puxomawi It really depends on your board, but for us and our Midas, under the Network tab, you can edit and change the IP address to whatever you wish! For example, after this video I changed the IP address so it was hidden from viewers- and then in the app I just connect using that new IP address. Hope that helps?

I just watched this video for the first time, and didn't get that vibe. He's talking specifically to people involved with his church's music teams. If you've ever worked with people who have never used IEM's, let alone digital sound gear, it can be a difficult job to get them on board and fluent with this setup. I've mixed and played live sound for almost 30 years and he explained it well, to the people it was made for.
