Based on what I just saw, why do they need to be removed? CLP isn’t bad for the handrail.

Ballistol is what I typically use and it works wonders on G10 anything

They literally do….they have two versions G10 and HTP.

How often do the G10 dry out and need cleaning? Do the HTP not dry out at all?

Depends on how much you use them, i habitually re oil them every month or so. Mostly because the shitty YFS screws they come with continue to rust on me.

They're black, but can appear grey when they're dry. We also now offer FDE G10 Scales.

Why does your G10 rail scales only come in black?

    • @fmxmyway

Its because the technology isnt there yet to make G10 in FDE. The G10 is superior though to any polymere.

perhaps you know something I don’t. I have made my own G10 that can be made with either paper or denim. With denim being my preferred method as I feel it’s more robust. Other manufacturers have been making G10 with other colors for as long as I can recall. Unless their G10 is some super secret recipe. To my knowledge g10 is nothing more than an epoxy resin and a material like denim layered and compressed. . I’m happy to find out if there’s something I don’t know that you have prior knowledge of.

@@Alex-pb1iy the material you’re referring to is micarta. Laminated fibrous layers in epoxy. G10 is a highly heat resistant polymer. They are both used for things like knife handle scales, grip scales, and other instances that require a robust, machine-able material. They are not the same thing though. The micarta, especially homemade, is epoxy resin based like you said, and nowhere near as durable. G10 is much harder and heat resistant.

Yep if your using epoxy & denim it's called Micarta not G10. G10 is tougher than Micarta
