I really recommend adding a set of the Knipex Cobra XS to your kit of small pliers. The are small, but extremely well made and very versatile for a small size but larger jaw opening potential.
@@RagedContinuumUp to you, they're similar but different enough in feel and use that it's kinda up to you to decide. A lot of people prefer the XS over the 125mm, cause they have less wobble/rattle between the two halves, are a bit easier to adjust one handed, and the jaws can be opened wider with less handle movement. They're also lighter than the 125mm, while having the same jaw size. But they don't have the button adjust mechanism, or wrapped handles, they're also an inch shorter. Could order both and play around with them, see which you prefer more. Might end up keeping both, lol! Knipex also makes a 5" version of their plier wrench...which is also awesome for edc purposes. A lot of people like that even more as it doesn't really "bite" or marr up whatever you're grabbing or wrenching on. Some get both, the XS and the 5" Plier Wrench. That, a knife, and maybe the stubby LTT Screwdriver, and you're carrying a sick little toolbox in your pockets, that can do both percision and big boy work, comfortably.
@@BigBear-- thanks for the rundown.. I think a plier wrench overlaps too much with what I have for smoothface but a cobra for the kitchen drawer and locker at work would be good additions. I'm trying to employ the strategy of buying high quality tools to supplement the existing cheap, low quality, or vintage tools that I"ve owned - maybe it's obsessive compulsion but it might just be the desire to finally get organizized
Cafus thx have a question Sir. What does 1PK on a plier mean? I ordered a 1PK 104 E flat nose but noticed there's another with 1PK 102 D that looks the same but are higher price. Am a jewellery maker not familiar with precision terms or machinery per se but would love to learn tried Googling did not pull up adequate explanations I could follow. You use easy to follow everyday English. As Indian whose third language is English you are easy to follow. Will you help me understand my tool please? What am I paying for? Shd I hve bought the 102 D pros kit? I chose the lower priced 104 E of the 1PK series.
I subbed as well. If you reply I wd know can find you. I watched this loved listening to your review. Ty. 🙏🇮🇳🙂 Aparent you love your tools much as I do
I have several pairs that were used in the operating room and I still own several pairs and scissors. Don’t see a single thing wrong with them. I love them!
Small smooth jaw needle-nose pliers are invaluable for paracord and knotting work.
I really like hakko. They're made for us electronics nerds. Many large manufacturers (klein) relabel their precision pliers and flush cutters.
Yes indeed, and yes hakko seems like a good brand but I've never owned any of their products.

Make sure you get the German or Spanish made Hemostats and not the ones made in Pakistan.
I will keep that in mind
