There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for Brian Setzer not being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The guy exudes more "rock n roll" in one song that most inductees have achieved in a lifetime.
the R n R hall of shame is a joke. Stray Cats' legacy is doing just fine without such nonsense. It took forever for that voting body of bozos to admit many bands into their hall of shame. Led Zeppelin wasn't admitted until 1995. Rush didn't make it until 2013. Both bands will be listened to and studied a hundred years from now.
Hes too good for that place . They have ABBA. But no Brian . Or Steve Mariott one of the best rock vocalists ever. To a certain extent it's the hall of shame .
Brian is one of the people keeping Old style hard rock , Rockabilly and guitar blues alive and kicking . Hes a underated musician and he really shouldnt be .
I get a lot of weird looks from other musicians when I tell them he's one of my top 3 guitarists. It surprised me too, but his phrasing, dynamics and improv skills are second to none. They're just buried in a niche genre sound that most squares consider "kitsch" or "novelty" music.
It takes a lot to carry a 3 piece rockabilly band. The guitar has to cover for lead and rhythm guitar and takes a lot of practice and skill to carry it off. He's very accomplished and it shows.
And find me any of their other favs that could consistently tour for this many years with multiple bands and continue to sell out shows. The guy is a rock solid virtuoso with a Rockabilly twist. Also, aside from maybe EVH, Page, and Reb Beach, no one has a signature sound to their guitar half as recognizable as this guy. He's been in my top 5 since I got Rock this Town /Can't Buy Me Love 45 for Christmas when I was 4?
Brian's humble dedication to his instrument is often misunderstood because of his will to put a fantastic show with his orchestra, so people are overwhelmed by what's going on around him. Not to mention he's also an incredible singer.
I for the life of me cannot understand why there aren't even MORE Brian Setzer fans other than the fact they probably never heard this or most his other music.

Wow...I've seen Brian two times with the Stray Cats and two times with his orchestra...wow...truly amazing. You would have to be dead to not be moved with this music. Brian is a truly amazing musician. His band is also...amazing!
I've been blessed to see Brian with his Orchestra about 5x. 2-3 straight nights at the Hollywood Bowl. I've always had a soft spot for Rockabilly, and when I saw him with his orchestra the 1st night at the Bowl couldn't get enough! Then I went to see him with his orchestra and he did his Christmas Extravaganza- kicked ass! When he does Sleepwalk- you're not supposed to be doing those sounds on a vintage guitar- but he sure does! Brian is one badass guitarist.
... and the Jazz elements and orchestration ... atmosphere ... All really BRILLIANT. Real nice guy too , cherish his autograph, given after a rel long concert. His musicality really awesome in so many ways.
One of the greatest guitarists of all time. And I've worked with some great ones. I love that every note, every riff is arranged in this concert. What a genius.
Big band without the piano, but playing hot-swinging tunes, and still keeping the Stray Cats vibe, with the audience of a rock/pop concert (jazz big band concerts are enjoyed sitting down), Brian is a great guitarist, both in rock and jazz idioms, and also a great performer! I think I owe some of my love for big band, as I play in the piano, from the day that I heard BSO playing Jump Jive 'n Wail.
What a power house combo the STRAY CAT has assembled! Effortless guitar chops and one of the best grooviest horn secs in history! Take it from a lifelong trumpet player. Swing it big daddy!!!
Thanks for sharing.. I freaking LOVE Brian. I'm a guitar player and know how good he REALLY IS.. Plus.. his band and his energy.. What A Great Show !!!!!!!! also.. who doesn't love his Standup Bass Player !!! Whooooot Mark!!!!!
Best rockabilly guitarist in history! Gene Vincent was fabulous, Brian Setzer is a step beyond Vincent’s accomplishments. Pure genius. I’m totally green with envy. What did I do with my youth? Not enough!

31 comments, just shows how quality musicianship and music in general have gone from consumer focus. Autotuned crap gets millions of views, while real music becomes a niche. I feel privileged to know, but sad to understand what's going on. Viva la Setzer! 👍

He’s touring with just s drummer and bass player. We saw them tonight in Redbank. It was great! Tickets were very affordable. I think we used ticket hub. It was sold out too.
Simply FANGRETSCHTASTIC! Brian and the whole band smoke the hall with this primo concert. No, need to take a Tri-Corder reading this crowd is alive & kicking.
Even if rockabilly or swing isn't your thing, go see BSO live. You'll have a great time. Not only us Brian one of the best guitarists alive, but a terrific showman.
Brian Setzer es uno de los mejores guitarristas que tiene el rock, muy por encima de gente más famosa como Eric Clapton o Jimmy Page. Además, tremendo showman.
I've often wondered the same thing. I really never hear him play a bad note. Is it because he doesn't do a bunch of finger tapping or something? The dude can really really play!

This proves the Japanese People are a better judge of music than most Americans.
What can i say about the legendary Brian Setzer. The whole package no competition. Love the Syray Cats since 1980 still do in 2023 and beyond.

Impeccable Guitarist. He is a TRUE MASTER at his graft. This entire band is number 1 in giving you there all.
and few minutes after the show started, sadness left the planet earth forever
I cry every time I watch this concert. And I've watched it like 30 times in the past 20 years. Is something wrong with me?)
