We don't need to work as in Christ all has been to the believers. Humanity struggles with working trying to obtain what is theirs already because of unbelief. That's the Fall of Man. We put off the old man and put on Christ daily. Genesis 2-3; Colossians 1-3.
So many Christians (maybe ALL of us at one time or another) become convinced that we are required to do things FOR God; and Jesus never said that. He called us to die to us and live IN and THROUGH Him. We come to Him with our failure and mess AND our successes which are also nothing compared to God's glory, and we absorb HIM, our Father, Our Love, our Power, our Strength, and we walk in the Holy Spirit. We are CHILDREN learning from Daddy, letting God Himself disciple us. We have no grades. It's not like school where we move from one grade to another with markers that say we achieved something. We WALK and learn and listen and speak with OUR FATHER WHO LOVES US.

I fasted for 10 or 12 days and as I was reading The Holy Bible, the words came alive to me. Afterwards one of my relatives walked in and I saw her in the spirit I saw that all the name brand bags she was purchasing was to fill the emptiness in her heart. So I decided to go into my bedroom to pray for her, and as I prayed and opened up my mouth, The Holy Spirit fell on me like fire, and I started to speak in tongues. I've never been the same person after that, JESUS is LORD.

The two verses of the song obviously represent a conversation between anyone and God. What I really like and found interesting is that Anna represented God in this song, which is amazing because God, besides the fact that he has the qualities of a father, he also has the gentle, comforting, soft qualities of a mother. And Corry is the one who is pouring out his feelings to God even tho in today's word men are expected to be tough and women are expected to be more sentimental and expressive. This song resonates with me so much. I can’t help but burst into tears every time I hear it. My little brother, who is 14, struggled with bad depression, and it seemed like it would take over him. The anxiety I had during that time was the worst, and sometimes it comes back and fills my head with negative thoughts and “what if’s”. I found myself walking on eggshells. I couldn’t sleep until I knew that my little brother was okay, and I still find myself in these situations. “I’m stuck inside my head most of the time.” Those replies from Jesus relieve me so much. “When you feel like giving up, I never did.” I pray for my little brothers every night. (I also have a 7 year old brother.) During that dark time, I kept saying to myself during prayer, “The enemy will not claim my little brother. Jesus will win this battle. God will win this battle.” Here we are, a month later. My little brother reached out to our youth group leaders, and they lifted him up unlike anything. He felt loved. We performed worship at our childhood friends’ father’s new church this past Easter Sunday, and he was happy because of the Holy message being spread as well as the positive feedback we got from the audience. (That boy LOVES music. His powerful voice and piercing guitar make him unstoppable.) Things are great. My family and I are well, and my brothers are great. God is good, and I know He will continue to guide my brothers in His direction. I know I’m not perfect, far from it, actually. The Lord knows I love my brothers beyond anything. I just pray that whenever either of my brothers have problems, that they would share their burdens with Him instead of the world, and that my musically inclined brother is used as a vessel to lift up people who went through the same things he did. That is really beautiful and you are an amazing sibling. I lost my little brother to suicide 13 years ago and I wish I had done more to help him. It’s so hard to have regrets. I’m not saying this was where your little brother was headed but you did the right thing by never giving up on him and praying. Prayers works. When you published the video of Dear God, I was in the middle of my conversion, your song helped me so thank you very much Cory! I cry almost everytime I listen to this, but mainly for one reason: my wife. She' shad such a hard period the past year, even moving further away from faith. I begged God every day to help me assist her spiritual "comeback" and be there for her as much as possible. A few weeks after that video came out, I took our two children to grandma, turned on this video on our TV, said to my wife: "sit here, listen to this song, I'll be outside." After 5-6 minutes I came back in and ...what a sight! She's crying like a baby. She didn't say a word to me, just hugged me and continued crying. The following weeks I have been gently reminding her that God is so close and loving her, I invited her to pray with me more often, to go to confession and mass more often etc. We're trying to find time to go to Međugorje soon (which I feel will work miracles to her faith), and now she's much more stable and happy, which is clearly noticable. She's definitely back on her path and I can't wait to exerience God's hand in her/our future. Why am I writing this? Because this song STRONGLY reminds me of that time she was suffering and it's such a positive song because it stands for overcoming hard times - because our God is with us. I am so humbled that I am helping God with her. And I want to say that "Dear God" is almost a symbol for God's triumph in her life! Thank you Cory so much.

I think the reason why I still get stuck in my past is because I still hadn't loved my way through it. The thoughts of the past still come up and I never actually get through it. To whoever reads this, maybe whatever you keep dealing with is there to produce the character of Love that God created you with.

I've been struggling with my Faith. There was a time that I was burning with it. I fell into a hole of sin. This song brought me back to Him. It was made for me. I asked God years ago to make me His. To use my heart to change the world. I wasn't prepared for the struggle and the trial that comes with. I wasn't prepared for the growth. 2020 has been hard and it’s brought out the worst in many of us. Remember, His grace is enough. You have been forgiven. Forgive yourself and go forth and forgive others.
His grace is not enough; we are obliged to work with the grace of God. Unfortunately, a widespread misinterpretation of Paul's letters in many churches and Bible communities has led to a distortion of the gospel among a great many believers. That many faith communities and churches take the words of Paul as a free pass for a life without works of neighborly love and observance of the 10 commandments of love is a false doctrine. The true meaning of Romans 3:28 "We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." can only be deduced from the historical context of this sentence and the context of the words, since this passage seems to contradict the words of Jesus and the apostles in *umpteen other places* in the Bible. In the end, however, it is not a contradiction at all, since Jesus and the apostles speak of *the works after conversion,* but Paul speaks of *the works before conversion.* In effect, the Jews had the conviction that in order to be saved, one had to be taught the Law as a child and keep the Law *lifelong* and perform the works of the Law *for life.* Thus, all the Gentiles would have been lost, because they were of course not schooled in the Mosaic Law and therefore could not keep or fulfill it at all. For the Jews, the Gentiles were therefore godless and lost in sin. Paul was an apostle sent out to minister to the Gentiles and wanted to make it clear that no matter how sinful the Gentiles were before, all will be forgiven if they become believers in God and accept the sacrifice of Jesus and follow Him from then on. What they had done wrong up to that point was erased, as if they were righteous and had never sinned. Moreover, that Roemer 3:28 refers only to the unconverted can be deduced from Roemer 3:24-25. 24 undeservedly justified by his grace, through the ransom that is in Christ Jesus. 25 God has set Him apart publicly as a restitution through faith in His blood as proof of His righteousness for the remission of *sins previously committed.* Thus it can be deduced both from the word context with Romans 3:24-25 and from the historical context that Romans 3:28 was addressed to the unconverted Gentiles and *claimed validity only for pre-conversion sins.* For this is *the only way to explain* the contradiction with James 2:26, which states that *faith without works is dead.* Ultimately, however, there can be no contradictions in the words of God, since *God does not contradict Himself after all.* The solution is that the words of James were for the converted and the words of Paul were for the unconverted. This means, then, that the sins of the past are forgiven and the person who accepts and receives Christ *becomes righteous without works of law through grace,* but *remains righteous* only through the observance of the 2 primary love commandments and 10 love commandments which must then be performed, whereby even a failure to love one's neighbor is a violation of the love commandments. This interpretation also applies to Ephesians 2:1-10 and Galatians 2:15-16. There, too, it refers only to previous sins before conversion. Paul's letters or words always fell only in this historical context. That means we must give our lives for other believers. We are even obliged to lay down our lives for our brothers. *If that is not a work of neighborly love?!* In this respect we are obliged to work with the grace of God, otherwise no eternal life.

This is such a beautiful song with raw, heartfelt emotion. But the conclusion of the lyrics is so sad. Our salvation, our peace, our security in Jesus has nothing to do with how hard we try - it's 100% God's grace that saves us and sustains us, and the wonderful message of the gospel is actually: "My child, stop trying, cause Jesus has done it for you".
My husband and I were literally talking about some struggles we've been going through financially & with some family TODAY; it started coming between him and i....we are literally best friends, our communication is literally heaven sent and the grace of the Lord is always upon us any time there's an "altercation" between us....we've recently started "backsliding" and we noticed the stress and tension coming between us and I know it's because we haven't been in communion with our King as often as we were months ago because of "life"....it almost feels shameful and almost like we're unworthy of coming back to the throne boldly to ask for forgiveness and run back to Him when in reality that's all He wants....I hadn't even been listening to my worship playlist in a whole month and then this song pops up from me clicking my playlist, it played randomly and wow did it speak to my Spirit heavily. We are NEVER too far from our Father God, He is NEVER waiting with His arms crossed and with an upset attitude waiting to tell is "it's about time" or "oohh NOW you want to come back?" No No No....He is THRILLED to have us back...and that's literally what i felt right now, His love being poured onto my spirit and so happy to have me back....I'm back Lord, forgive our frail & weak human flesh for we know the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. This song resonates with me so much. I can’t help but burst into tears every time I hear it. My little brother, who is 14, struggled with bad depression, and it seemed like it would take over him. The anxiety I had during that time was the worst, and sometimes it comes back and fills my head with negative thoughts and “what if’s”. I found myself walking on eggshells. I couldn’t sleep until I knew that my little brother was okay, and I still find myself in these situations. “I’m stuck inside my head most of the time.” Those replies from Jesus relieve me so much. “When you feel like giving up, I never did.” I pray for my little brothers every night. (I also have a 7 year old brother.) During that dark time, I kept saying to myself during prayer, “The enemy will not claim my little brother. Jesus will win this battle. God will win this battle.” Here we are, a month later. My little brother reached out to our youth group leaders, and they lifted him up unlike anything. He felt loved. We performed worship at our childhood friends’ father’s new church this past Easter Sunday, and he was happy because of the Holy message being spread as well as the positive feedback we got from the audience. (That boy LOVES music. His powerful voice and piercing guitar make him unstoppable.) Things are great. My family and I are well, and my brothers are great. God is good, and I know He will continue to guide my brothers in His direction. I know I’m not perfect, far from it, actually. The Lord knows I love my brothers beyond anything. I just pray that whenever either of my brothers have problems, that they would share their burdens with Him instead of the world, and that my musically inclined brother is used as a vessel to lift up people who went through the same things he did. I’m not saying this was where your little brother was headed but you did the right thing by never giving up on him and praying. Prayers works. When you published the video of Dear God, I was in the middle of my conversion, your song helped me so thank you very much Cory!
I cry almost everytime I listen to this, but mainly for one reason: my wife.
She' shad such a hard period the past year, even moving further away from faith. I begged God every day to help me assist her spiritual "comeback" and be there for her as much as possible. A few weeks after that video came out, I took our two children to grandma, turned on this video on our TV, said to my wife: "sit here, listen to this song, I'll be outside." After 5-6 minutes I came back in and ...what a sight! She's crying like a baby. She didn't say a word to me, just hugged me and continued crying.
The following weeks I have been gently reminding her that God is so close and loving her, I invited her to pray with me more often, to go to confession and mass more often etc. We're trying to find time to go to Međugorje soon (which I feel will work miracles to her faith), and now she's much more stable and happy, which is clearly noticable. She's definitely back on her path and I can't wait to exerience God's hand in her/our future.
Why am I writing this? Because this song STRONGLY reminds me of that time she was suffering and it's such a positive song because it stands for overcoming hard times - because our God is with us. I am so humbled that I am helping God with her. And I want to say that "Dear God" is almost a symbol for God's triumph in her life! Thank you Cory so much.

This last part hit me because Forgiving someone is an act of love. I think the reason why I still get stuck in my past is because I still hadn't loved my way through it. The thoughts of the past still come up and I never actually get through it. To whoever reads this, maybe whatever you keep dealing with is there to produce the character of Love that God created you with.
Imagine someone you loved constantly lied, ignored you, cursed you, or never thanked you. What if you died for them and they didn’t care? That’s what we do to God but He will never stop loving us. ❤

I've been struggling with my Faith. There was a time that I was burning with it. I fell into a hole of sin. This song brought me back to Him. It was made for me.

2020 has been hard and it’s brought out the worst in many of us. Remember, His grace is enough. You have been forgiven. Forgive yourself and go forth and forgive others.
His grace is not enough; we are obliged to work with the grace of God.
Unfortunately, a widespread misinterpretation of Paul's letters in many churches and Bible communities has led to a distortion of the gospel among a great many believers.
That many faith communities and churches take the words of Paul as a free pass for a life without works of neighborly love and observance of the 10 commandments of love is a false doctrine.
The true meaning of Romans 3:28 "We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." can only be deduced from the historical context of this sentence and the context of the words, since this passage seems to contradict the words of Jesus and the apostles in *umpteen other places* in the Bible.
In the end, however, it is not a contradiction at all, since Jesus and the apostles speak of *the works after conversion,* but Paul speaks of *the works before conversion.*
In effect, the Jews had the conviction that in order to be saved, one had to be taught the Law as a child and keep the Law *lifelong* and perform the works of the Law *for life.*
Thus, all the Gentiles would have been lost, because they were of course not schooled in the Mosaic Law and therefore could not keep or fulfill it at all. For the Jews, the Gentiles were therefore godless and lost in sin.
Paul was an apostle sent out to minister to the Gentiles and wanted to make it clear that no matter how sinful the Gentiles were before, all will be forgiven if they become believers in God and accept the sacrifice of Jesus and follow Him from then on.
What they had done wrong up to that point was erased, as if they were righteous and had never sinned.
Moreover, that Roemer 3:28 refers only to the unconverted can be deduced from Roemer 3:24-25.
24 undeservedly justified by his grace, through the ransom that is in Christ Jesus.
25 God has set Him apart publicly as a restitution through faith in His blood as proof of His righteousness for the remission of *sins previously committed.*
Thus it can be deduced both from the word context with Romans 3:24-25 and from the historical context that Romans 3:28 was addressed to the unconverted Gentiles and *claimed validity only for pre-conversion sins.*
For this is *the only way to explain* the contradiction with James 2:26, which states that *faith without works is dead.*
Ultimately, however, there can be no contradictions in the words of God, since *God does not contradict Himself after all.*
The solution is that the words of James were for the converted and the words of Paul were for the unconverted.
This means, then, that the sins of the past are forgiven and the person who accepts and receives Christ *becomes righteous without works of law through grace,* but *remains righteous* only through the observance of the 2 primary love commandments and 10 love commandments which must then be performed, whereby even a failure to love one's neighbor is a violation of the love commandments.
This interpretation also applies to Ephesians 2:1-10 and Galatians 2:15-16. There, too, it refers only to previous sins before conversion.
Paul's letters or words always fell only in this historical context.
This means, then, that the sins of the past are forgiven and the person who accepts and receives Christ becomes righteous *without works of the law by grace.* But whether he remains righteous depends on *following Christ in works of neighbor love,* which can be deduced from 2 Peter 3 14-16, where Peter even explicitly pointed out in 2 Peter 3 14-16 that Paul's letters are difficult to understand.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, *without spot and blameless* in his sight. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote unto you; 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; wherein are some *things hard to be understood,* which the ignorant and unstedfast *wrest,* as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
This means, then, that the sins of the past are forgiven and the person who accepts and receives Christ *becomes righteous without works of law through grace,* but *remains righteous* only through the observance of the 2 primary love commandments and 10 love commandments which must then be performed, whereby even a failure to love one's neighbor is a violation of the love commandments.
And that discipleship in works of neighborly love is even *necessary for eternal life,* follows explicitly also from 1 John 3:14-17
14 we -- we have known that we have passed out of the death to the life, because we love the brethren; he who is not loving the brother doth remain in the death.
15 Every one who is hating his brother -- a man-killer he is, and ye have known that no man-killer hath life age-during in him remaining,
16 in this we have known the love, because he for us his life did lay down, and we are under obligation to lay down our lives for the brethren;
17 and whoever may have the goods of the world, and may view his brother having need, and may shut up his bowels from him -- how doth the love of God remain in him?
That means we must give our lives for other believers. We are even obliged to lay down our lives for our brothers. *If that is not a work of neighborly love?!* In this respect we are obliged to work with the grace of God, otherwise no eternal life.

This is such a beautiful song with raw, heartfelt emotion. But the conclusion of the lyrics is so sad. Our salvation, our peace, our security in Jesus has nothing to do with how hard we try - it's 100% God's grace that saves us and sustains us, and the wonderful message of the gospel is actually: "My child, stop trying, cause Jesus has done it for you".
My husband and I were literally talking about some struggles we've been going through financially & with some family TODAY; it started coming between him and i....we are literally best friends, our communication is literally heaven sent and the grace of the Lord is always upon us any time there's an "altercation" between us....we've recently started "backsliding" and we noticed the stress and tension coming between us and I know it's because we haven't been in communion with our King as often as we were months ago because of "life"....it almost feels shameful and almost like we're unworthy of coming back to the throne boldly to ask for forgiveness and run back to Him when in reality that's all He wants....I hadn't even been listening to my worship playlist in a whole month and then this song pops up from me clicking my playlist, it played randomly and wow did it speak to my Spirit heavily. We are NEVER too far from our Father God, He is NEVER waiting with His arms crossed and with an upset attitude waiting to tell is "it's about time" or "oohh NOW you want to come back?" No No No....He is THRILLED to have us back...and that's literally what i felt right now, His love being poured onto my spirit and so happy to have me back....I'm back Lord, forgive our frail & weak human flesh for we know the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
