They won't get a majority, especially as there are 35 instead of 25 seats in the parliament. If the cross benchers in the parliament, and that could consist of independents (who were the catalyst for the election in the first place disagreeing on funding), Greens (who are pretty much anti anything) and Lambie Network members (who have no policy at all on this)

What has been the breakdown of how much money a team and stadium will bring to Hobart/Tasmania? I know that Adelaide's gather round supposedly brought South Australia over 80 million last year. Perhaps the AFL could guarantee some events like a gather round which they could come out and give a prospective amount the local economy would make. All the talk about how much the stadium will cost has been absent of how much money it would bring in.
I've been expecting something like a Gather Round would happen for the Tassie team for a few years after they start which would be good. There was a report a while ago showing that the benefit of the Hawthorn Games was an extra $27m to the economy, the Tassie team is talked about bringing an extra $100-$200m a year in increased spending which is huge. I'm honestly embarrassed as a Tasmanian about how Labor and others have done this. A lot of people I won't vote for again.
Health will never be fixed to anybody's standard. Our health system is absolutely miles ahead of so many countries but after doing the sums the other night we spend twice as much on health every single year compared to when Labor was last in power plus they've built and upgraded more than ever was done and in the next 15 years over the life of the AFL funding for getting the team off the ground we'll spend about $72bn on health while only $0.6bn on the AFL stuff. It's not going to make any difference at all.
The whole thing has seemed totally half baked from the start. They don't even want to build a tiny little stadium, so every game doesn't have to be scheduled for 1pm on Sunday. Why are they considering compromising the entire competition for years, for this?! Just pull the whole thing.
The original stage 3 tax cuts had over $200 billion for affluent Australians, the big 4 banks, Woolworths, Coles collectively profit tens of billions annually, CEO's get their 5-6 figure bonuses and yet, governments claim it's not sensible economic management to build a stadium or play politics about the housing crisis. If State and federal government's and the ATO, didn't allow wealthy people to die with millions they won't and can't spend in their lifetime, treat struggling Australians like helping them only adds to inflation, Tasmania would have its stadium on schedule and safe homes for all Aussies.
Hobart has the population of Ballarat. Do they deserve an AFL team. It’s just because they’re a seperate state. But there’s so many red flags as to their viability.
Yep. The good players with options haven’t even wanted to play on the Gold Coast the past decade. And there will only be a few decent players with home ties to Tasmania.
If the AFL allow this team into the competition without the first game played at the new stadium 🏟️ then just bin it and they NEVER get a team!!! We’ll find out whether Andrew Dillon has a pair of avocados 🥑 or not!!!

If their admission in the comp is delayed, that's probably a good thing actually. Don't rush it in, and get a 20th team ready also.
