Cody Jinks "Sober Thing" plays on my mix every morning as I get ready to head to work. I'm not 100% booze free, but I'm way more sober, focused and working out.
Met jinks in hays kansas years ago, we were waiting first in line, i was wearing a corrosion of conformity shirt on. Look up and jinks is standing in front of me, said he looked out amd seen my shirt and had to come shake my hand. Felt like a rockstar. Such a humble dude.
Cody jinks is and will always be a huge part of my husband and my love story. His songs for Becky have expressed the hard and beautiful parts of love and the highs and lows of marriage in such an amazing way. From when the new wears off to she's all mine and now always running and everything in between. We've grown up with him. My husband would send me his songs while we were falling in love and there is so much raw love attached to them now. Whenever I want to go back to those feelings all I have to do is play the songs. We've been married almost 7 years and in those 7 years we've had 3 boys and I brought my sweet son shine luke into our marriage and he brought the best out in my husband and he instantly became an amazing dad for him. We recently lost luke in october to a very impulsive suicide he was only 14. Part of our healing and being present and whole for our remaining sons has been getting back to our love story so we drove to Nashville to see Cody in April after many many years of wanting to see him and spent an amazing weekend there well never forget that. It was one of the first times since losing our son that we could really smile and laugh and dance and just let go and enjoy one another. The show was sooo amazing. We're hoping to be able to go see him again in December in nashville! Thank you for putting your heart out there for us to listen to Cody! ❤
Great interview. Met Cody before one of his shows. He is 100% as genuine and as good of a guy as there is on top of being one of the best artists walking this earth.
We saw Cody Jinks play at the LoveShack in Denton, Tx for tips years before we heard him on the radio. We bought a CD because his talent and were THRILLED when we heard him on a local radio station two or three years later. The love shack has not existed for some time, but Cody and his music still does. I’m proud to be a local who participated in the inception of this man's career. God bless you Mr. Jinks. Onward!
Thank god for cody jinks, jelly roll, and others who share their vices to let the world know that they are not alone in the struggle, it helps a lot of people more than they realize.
@rosegroshek1218 I didn't say he was, I said he let's people know about the struggles, also if all he does is drink or smoke pot compared to being what he was in his youth, that's a win in itself.
When I met my GF three years ago we talked about our bucket lists, both eye balling 50, says Cody Jinks was one of mine. I knew he was playing Buckeye Country Fest but not a Luke Combs fan. She gets me the tickets for Christmas and nothing against Luke but we left after Cody. Great freaking night.
Love cody jinks. Thanks to Spotify i find myself liking mostly the bands and musicians that are not signed to major labels. King George and Hank Jr are probably the only guys I'll spend money to go see in concert. People need to support these great talents that record labels don't. Awesome interview. Thank you for having him
I saw Cody Jinks in Port Arthur,TX in 2016 and it was amazing… Saw him at the Houston Rodeo and it was the best show of my life… my favorite artist for sure!
Seen Jinks twice in Dallas (2023, 2024) and will be seeing him in December at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth!!! Change the Game is an amazing album. The sober thing makes me cry every time I hear it.
This man is authentic! It comes through in his music. I just listened to his music. I need to elaborate. I see he didn't buy into the evil side of the business like the rest. Just saying he is to be respected for who he is! Granny from Florida 👍🌴💖
Cody fucking Jinks! Hell yeah. Found Cody in 2013 right after I started rehab and gettin sober. Some of his songs were hard to listen to but told such a great story so genuinely, couldn’t help listening happy sad or mad!! Love ya brother! Take care!
David has got to be one of the most talented songs ever written and sung in my opinion. If you live in a small town like me it happens exactly like that song
Thanks @codyjinks Cody Jinks for this interview and Your awesome wife for Riding life out with you. Maybe one day you could come back with her and give her perspective..
47:04 Can confirm, worked as a cook at a bar known for serving steaks and BBQ that Cody and them played at. The whole crews order consisted of chicken tenders and salads.
I just found a channel called AI Tunestar and he posts the funniest AI country songs I've ever heard 😂 "Boots, Beers, and Backyard Bull Rides" is a good one
Madison taking ricochet shots there. He brings up that first show every time through and then turns on the house lights to see the dramatic change. I can also say that all three Madison, WI shows I went to in 2015-17 were sold out.
If you can’t play Loud and Heavy, We get by, Hippies and Cowboys, DAVID especially and not think this man is a gift to us…………you should go see a Dr fairly quick!!
Dale brisby I want to be a bull rider but I need your help. I look up to u and u are the one that inspired me to want to be a bull rider. Can u help me with my dream?
Pretty sure his hat is an ode to Lamb Of God and if it is...this dude is the absolute fuckin man more than i already thought he was. Cheers!!...son of a bitch thats cool as shit!!
Hello Dale, I'm from Brazil and I have a PhD in animal nutrition and I've been practicing team roping for a few years. I would like to do an internship with you, how do I proceed?
He said at a show in Texarkana right after the beard shave, that he had lost a bet to Ward Davis and that was the penalty. I wonder if there's any truth to that.
Well of course record companies don’t want independent artists being number one. If they let everyone see that you can be successful without signing then they would lose their cash cows.
Kinda sad to see that you can’t count. We’ve posted almost 400 rodeo time vlogs and only 150 pods. Thanks for complaining about something that doesn’t exist tho 🤙🏼

It all starts somewhere 😂 progress. I might average a beer + shot probably 12/year since being diabetic
I feel like that song describes addiction in general. I'm not 100% sober from alcohol but keep pushing.
Same here buddy, keep on !!
Love that song

I think Cody is awesome and I love his music.
He is definitely a cowboy in the world of music. He rides his own horse.
I just realized what his hat says! That album is killer! Lamb of God!!!!
Great interview. Met Cody before one of his shows. He is 100% as genuine and as good of a guy as there is on top of being one of the best artists walking this earth.
