Tip from my Gramma: When doing persnickety eye makeup tasks, like shaping brows or winged liner, do the side of your less dominant hand first. Like, if you're right handed, do the left side first. That way, it will be easier and quicker to match up the other side's makeup. Another tip from my Gramma: Always carry a fine nib fountain ink pen. Not only will you seem fancy and upscale, but it also makes for a really good defensive weapon.

I used to have short eyelashes too, but I found that a mixture of aloe vera gel, castor oil and a couple drops of vitamin E really helped me get longer and thicker lashes.

Be so careful if you try this!!! It can pull your lashes out if you clamp too tightly. Pulse your curlers instead and move them gradually up along the lashes so you get a full curl 😄
Castle oil is another AMAZING oil to put on your eyebrows and eyelashes to make them grow and it's cheap!! You just put a coat on your eyebrow hairs and a coat on your lashes and lashline!! PLEASE THUMBS THIS UP SO DESI CAN SEE! ❤️

I agree when you get older you do take ownership of your beauty. I have not worn makeup (well only mascara and eyeliner only ) before I would wear foundation, bronzer, blush concealer powder highlighter everyday. It's nice just to be me without it all. I feel more at ease and I don't have to fuss over touch ups.
I can totally relate/agree to the with age comes more confidence. In my early 20's I wouldn't be caught dead in public without my full glam face done. Nowadays - years later - I rarely do full glam unless I have the time or "feel" like doing it and most days I just do some powder, bronzer, brows, mascara and I am out the door in less than 10 minutes! It's amazing how much I have changed in a few years with my confidence! :)

I have the same dark reddish eyelids & have always been super self conscious about it, always using concealer to cover them up. I am 37, and I'm sure everyone else here is a lot younger than me but I'm a huge fan of yours. It's important to let young women know that as you get older you become more confident with your body, and your appearance. I understand completely what you're talking about with the makeup insecurity thing! In high school I used to wear mascara, eyeliner, and sometimes shadow plus also face makeup on the daily and now I feel comfortable with this type of look here (mascara, foundation, slight contour, brows) and it is something to be proud of!
This is what I need every day!! I love these more basic looks actually. I have the same disorder you do, that never-on-timeivites. Especially with that other problem of bald eye brows, we also share. TYSM!

I can't relate to the eye makeup, but I am the same way with full coverage foundation and brows. It took me years to feel comfortable and happy going out during the day with just light powder or concealer mascara and lip balm, but the first time I did I realized I was way less worried about checking how I looked on the mirror and I way much more relaxed! It's the little things haha. I love how real you are!

Dana I'm the opposite! I genuinely love doing my makeup. It's like "me time" and calming when I set aside the time, so I'm willing to get up ridiculously early before work to spend time getting ready. But to each their own!
Dana I'm like that in the morning where I completely skip makeup because I sleep until the LAST possible minute. But at night when I'm going out I take like 2 hours to do my makeup cause I just enjoy it.
Dana nah i wake up at least two hours before I gotta get out the door. It's not just about vanity, it's about personal grooming, being clean and fresh, having the time to sit and sip a lovely morning coffee, spend time with my pets and make sure i have everything organized and can leave early just in case. doing my makeup is just a bit of that time. sleep is cool but I can sleep at night. Its better to get up and be productive but feel calm and relaxed rather then feel rushed and anxious because that's when shit goes wrong and you end up being an hour late and _everybody_ hates that guy

If you count wetting my beauty blender, I take a good 6-7 minutes Just on foundation to make sure everything is blended so for her to do an entire face minus eye shadow in 13 minutes (can't count intro and outro, probably less if you take away the minute and a half she spent explaining the eyebrow stencil) is pretty short

To get a really good curl on your lashes, clamp down, and roll/rotate your curler up. It makes a massive difference!

I am honestly the same when it comes to lashes and my eyebrows. I never used to go out with filling in my brows but recently, I've been noticing some growth so I was excited too!!

yes! can totally relate to you, when i was younger i wouldn't leave the house without make up, now that im older things like that aren't important anymore...the older you get the more confident you get i love it!!

I understand completely what you're talking about with the makeup insecurity thing! In high school I used to wear mascara, eyeliner, and sometimes shadow plus also face makeup on the daily and now I feel comfortable with this type of look here (mascara, foundation, slight contour, brows) and it is something to be proud of!

I just started watching your vids and I really love that I found someone who has struggly brows and lashes and pigmented lids like myself. Its true your insecurities fade as you get older. I have been doing less makeup lately and feeling more beautiful. I love the tips in this vid to help enhance my natural features and will be using. New subbie here!

I can't relate to the eye makeup, but I am the same way with full coverage foundation and brows. It took me years to feel comfortable and happy going out during the day with just light powder or concealer mascara and lip balm, but the first time I did I realized I was way less worried about checking how I looked on the mirror and I way much more relaxed! It's the little things haha. I love how real you are!
If my entire face makeup takes longer than 10 mins, for AANNNYYY occasion, I'm annoyed. lol I will never understand how girls wake up 1-2 hours early to do their makeup in the morning, like I need sleep, anyone else?
Dana I'm the opposite! I genuinely love doing my makeup. It's like "me time" and calming when I set aside the time, so I'm willing to get up ridiculously early before work to spend time getting ready. But to each their own!
Dana I'm like that in the morning where I completely skip makeup because I sleep until the LAST possible minute. But at night when I'm going out I take like 2 hours to do my makeup cause I just enjoy it.

Dana nah i wake up at least two hours before I gotta get out the door. It's not just about vanity, it's about personal grooming, being clean and fresh, having the time to sit and sip a lovely morning coffee, spend time with my pets and make sure i have everything organized and can leave early just in case. doing my makeup is just a bit of that time. sleep is cool but I can sleep at night. Its better to get up and be productive but feel calm and relaxed rather then feel rushed and anxious because that's when shit goes wrong and you end up being an hour late and _everybody_ hates that guy

Andrea Coronado that's pretty quick consideringI know people who spend 20 minutes Just on their brows. If you count wetting my beauty blender, I take a good 6-7 minutes Just on foundation to make sure everything is blended so for her to do an entire face minus eye shadow in 13 minutes (can't count intro and outro, probably less if you take away the minute and a half she spent explaining the eyebrow stencil) is pretty short
