"A tour in Europe", yes thanks that would be nice. 😃 Nice find, haven't seen this interview before. Thanks for the translation to you and your friend. 🙂
As a Finn, listening to Estonian feels like I'm having a stroke 😂 Like I should be able to understand but I don't. I know it's probably same the other way around, and now I'm wondering whether that's how the Scandinavian languages feel towards each other as well. Mad respect for interviewing Käärijä in Finnish! 💚
As a Swede I can fairly easily understand spoken and written Norwegian, and written Danish. (Spoken Danish is harder). To me, Norwegian is easier to understand than some Swedish dialects, even. So its probably not quite the same. 🙂 I read that Finnish and Estonian separated 2,000 years ago. The Scandi languages separated much later, says Wikipedia. "In the 9th century, Old Norse began to diverge into Old West Norse (Norway and Iceland) and Old East Norse (Sweden and Denmark). In the 12th century, the dialects of Denmark and Sweden began to diverge, becoming Old Danish and Old Swedish in the 13th century."
@@nian60 As a Finn who has a Bachelor's degree in the Swedish language, I sometimes find spoken Norwegian (Bokmål, not Nynorsk) easier to understand than some Swedish dialects 😀 And I can read Norwegian (again Bokmål, Nynorsk not so much) almost as easily as Swedish. I can also read Danish quite well even though I have never studied it, but spoken Danish is another story and I really don't get their numerals at all. But as a native Finnish speaker I can hardly understand even written Estonian, just some words here and there. I think Swedish and Norwegian are much closer to each other than Finnish and Estonian. I guess you could compare Finnish and Estonian with for example Swedish and Icelandic (which is basically impossible for me to understand even though I do understand other Nordic languages).
I just love Estonian language and their finnish accent. It sounds so silly to me 😂❤️ And you are not a true Finn if you don't ever visit in Estonia 😆 Literally everyone goes there once in a while lol.
Yeah,,Käärijä on monipuolinen nuori mies, pidän hänen musiikista.👍💚💚💫〰️〰️💃💃Hyvää työtä ja vitsitkin lentää. Ja taas 'mennään Cha cha Chaa Käärijä〰️〰️🎼🎼👍KIITOS.
Such a sunny guy. I do love that he speaks Finnish, 'cause it's very difficult to find a Finnish performer speaking Finnish, the world is turning into English, it's good to bring up people, but the authenticity is lost. 🔘I am so glad I studied Finnish in my time, now I can understand it!
"sininen vaippa"=blue carpet :D omg, estonian is so similar to finnish but it's not at the same time! Estonia, our southern friend! edit: for those who don't understand finnish, "sininen vaippa" means blue diaper in finnish :D

Just FYI in case you also missed it, the outdoor concert Käärijä did in Liverpool was 20 mins. long. I only figured this out the other day. I had thought it was a much shorter gig. He introduced Aleksi as "Allu Perkele". 🤣 One uploader has the full 20 mins, and another who was standing a bit closer has 15 mins.
First upcoming international gig: 17th June: Flex Fest, Viro, Estonia. Käärijä is doing 2 gigs in different countries on the same day. 😵💫 17th June: Kesärauha, Turku, Finland.
@@kaarijasupporters Yeah. I'm not surprised he picked Estonia, I expected him to do Estonia as the first abroad gig. I am surprised he's doing it in June though. I thought it would be in October - November. Since Käärijä is now squeezing in international festival gigs in between his Finnish gigs this summer, I had a look at the Swedish festival schedule. I wonder if he will try for the Roskilde Festival in Denmark (24 June - 1 July)? 🤔 Another potential is Stockholm Lollapalooza (29 June - 1 July). Or *GASP* Glastonbury? 😳 This is only speculation based on looking at where he could fit in. But why not dream big (Glastonbury, that would be epic). 😃
@@kaarijasupporters Yes, I hope so. 🙂 Maybe they feel it is less pressure to do festivals instead of stand-alone gigs? Going to an Estonian festival feels a bit like they're dipping their toes in the water. Which is a sensible thing to do. 😊

No, we can’t. We can sometimes guess the the topic of a converstation and understand a couple of words here and there. In this interview they are talking Finnish and the original video is subtitled in Estonian.
Finnish and Estonian are very closely related languages, but most of us Finns and Estonians don't understand each other. We can catch some words here and there but are not really able to conversate with each other. I've been trying to listen to some Estonian rappers, like Nublu, but I just don't understand more than a few words. In this video the reporter speaks Finnish with Estonian accent so that's why it may sound like she's speaking Estonian.
@@kaarijasupporters thanks a lot for explanation! By the way, on that video where Alika from Estonia hugged Käärijä and tried to cheer him up after grand final they both talks on what language? Because it was definitely not English. And that video was also the cause why I made this assumption about Finnish and Estonian👀😅
