I'm elated that the show is recognizing our history and that James and Jackee are educating the viewers and other. Thank you my brother and sister!!! Right on!!👊🏾✊🏾👏🏾🙌🏾💪🏾
...this was such a joy to watch and rewatch! I definitely appreciate Jackee and James dropping all the science as well aa the writers for bringing more of our rich history to Salem (i'm sure some of the ancestors stopped there during the Great Migration)!
Dear Mr Reynolds and Ms Harry, I do hope you read this. As a child growing up in the 70s (born 62) I had the good fortune (financially) to receive a magazine about the slave trade. My parents were good honest and hard working people and I know, now, this would not have been in their budget. Anyway, the point being, I couldn’t continue with the subscription 😞 it was horrific reading. The cruelty still remains in my memory, in particular, the way the ships were packed with the poor victims shackled, even vile spike type metal collars, literally head to toe with no space between them. It horrified me, I still struggle to accept supposed human beings did this to other human beings, I fail to accept ignorance as a defence. We watched the TV programme Roots which was equally as distressing, but I shall forever be grateful to my Mum and Dad for their generosity in allowing me, at a young age, to share the shame of our predecessors. Stay safe, stay well and Grandma Corset Rocks. What a beautiful historic fact. I’m delighted a day has been granted for the memory of your families past and for the future generations to share. . 😊❤️❤️❤️
This is something that should definitely be in the history books. They never taught us this in school when I was in school in the 80s and 90s NEVER!🤦🏾♂️
OMG than you so much for this DAYS. I know many of your "traditional viewers" have very strong opinions against this but I'm glad you're doing the right thing in acknowledging this day and the history behind it
This was so fascinated, educational, and insightful love these 2 talented actors. Jakee use to play on Another world this anybody remember that. Jakee is funny hilarious.she is A added 💎 to dool!
Thank you for sharing this with the viewers. I knew some of the history but not the significance of things like jumping the broom. I look forward to watching the wedding.
Thank you for sharing the story of your family's experience. I'm so glad you will be finally getting married. Looking forward to more from you both on Days. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for sharing your family's history . I've enjoyed your portrayal of Abe since you first started on Days and I hope you continue on the show for years to come.
I'm so proud to see such upstanding iconic people like James and Jackee present this amazing representation of our African American history💕 Days has stepped up the bar for us as Africa Americans.. I've been watching days since I was 4 and always loved the biblical named characters on this show. I've been more drawn to Days ,than any other soap..James was our longest standing Africa American actor ,and I loved him and Rene Jones. However, we needed Abe's family to grow ,and I'm so glad to see that has happened..As a Texan, I'm so Proud that Juneteenth is now recognized as it should have always been. Be blessed😇
Thank you so much for sharing this! Thank God for Abraham Lincoln who corrected this terrible wrong on humanity! Can't wait for Abe and Pauina's wedding and how they are tying this in to Juneteenth!
He was trying to end the war and though Lincoln was half Black he could have cared less about the slaves but the economy. If he could have preserved the economy without the freedom of the enslaved people would have stayed enslaved. He was not a nobleman
Thank you for pointing out the exception of imprisonment in the 13th Amendment! So many blindly say that it abolished slavery, but that exception is significant and has been used systematically as a way of locking up and oppressing BIPOC people since the its passing.
I never knew the actual meaning of it because my almost daughter my doctor grandmother's daughter was born on June 19th anineteenth and she never liked it she didn't like having her birthday like that and I never understood that and talked got over and I investigated it and everything but but I would have been honored and I would have been proud to have my birthday on that day mine's may the 15th so it's a month early
Interesting, though,I'm from Barbados,I didn't know all of this stuff until now, when I was much younger growing up watching Days with my late mom I mostly knew Abe as the only black guy on Days
I think 'Juneteenth' is a stupid name. I'd prefer 'Abolition Day' or 'Freedom Day' or something like that so it properly honors the occasion. Juneteenth sounds dumb and ignorant.
Thank you for sharing your family's history . I've enjoyed your portrayal of Abe since you first started on Days and I hope you continue on the show for years to come.
Beautiful speech james and jakee
Thank-you James for telling your family history, & Jackee for history of your family & Juneteenth.
Amazing interview with James and Jackee
I'm elated that the show is recognizing our history and that James and Jackee are educating the viewers and other. Thank you my brother and sister!!! Right on!!👊🏾✊🏾👏🏾🙌🏾💪🏾

Beautiful content-loved watching Jackeé and James give us a history lesson that is needed!
African-American history is American history and unfortunately most Americans are ignorant about our own history
Ignorant goes a long way. Hahahahaha
Nobody gives a rat's ass about you professional victims.
Now-THAT IS POWER! Great answer, and the TRUTH!

I love James and Jakee! JJ. When Jakee first came on, she is what kept me watching DOOL. Almost gave up on this soap.
Thanks soo much for Sharing!! 💞💛💚💜💙
Absolutely fabulous.
Great video!
Thankyou so much for sharing this❤
Thank you for sharing.
It’s this Finally Going to happen. Yesss
We as a people should always thank God that we have our own history 🙏 we should 🍾 🍾 every day that we are Free!!
The best Days for me were The Lawrence Alamain days. Hope the writers will bring him back soon!
well not always the writers choice to bringing on people that's the EP who does that
Love you guys!
Yes!!!!!

I’m so tired of them interrupting Days of Lives!
For a Dog Show?
Really
Omg! How horrible James! See, I was never taught anything like this in my (Caucasian) History class.
same here as a Caucasian but hopefully that changes with this being a federal holiday
This is my point I hated this program only until jackee and when sometimes Marla Gibbs visit keeps me watch
Don’t watch then.

Oh Lawdy! Am dis mean ah beez gettin' dat rent monies soon, fam? Ah gotz dat repamarations comin' dis way fo' ah beez oppressed an sheeit, cuh.
The timing for a wedding is horrible. What are the writers thinking?
What do you mean the timing is horrible?
They got married the week of Juneeenth, hence their actors talking about it. You didn't watch the damn video, did you?
@@themadweirdo5843 this hasn’t happened yet & someone was just murdered. Everybody has not even been told. You have watched the show lately, right.
@@celticdw1983 watch the show and you’ll know.
@@beachgirl6565 it's in this week's preview, hence why I said what I said.
