Been in it for about 11 years, and only recently found slight success. Importance is consistency and balance. Make money doing something reliable first, set money aside every pay check, skip eating out, cook food at home, skip some subscriptions, etc, and when you have free time, skip the video games or doom scrolling and put time aside for the hobby you want to make into a job. Still not at the point of it being a job but 350 a month from streams across all platforms with production and mixing/mastering comissions everg now and then make it a decent side hustle that isnt rideshare
Gotta make sacrifices for this life to pay off in the end! I love this success story! Even $0.01 made doing what you love means so much more than anything else! Keep it up!
you only truely lose if you give up otherwise it's all part of your learning experience
1000% !!!!
I relate to this a hundred percent, lost a lot of friends even a few family. But I still do it cause it's what I love to do. I get what you saying though.
Some people just won't ever know what it's like! Keep hustling man! We need you!
Love the part where the dog came around to listen to the story as well
man its sad that all those things happend to u. keep going tho cuz doing what you love is really important. i really love your thoughts in this video and how honest u are, i have the same passion for music, i want to do what i love. i dont even really wanna be famous or something i just wanna do what i love yk, so i just wanted to say that just keep going, u r already helping many people by this video and by yours tutorials. much love
Only some people will get it! I appreciate the feedback though, it feels good to see other people feel the same and to see all the support we give each other! Much love to you!
thats the beauty about the friends thing, i started this with no friends, coming out of 8 or so years of addiction, running the streets, youd never tell looking at me, but i have been stabbed, shot, you name it, then i realized i was getting to the point of no return, so i stopped myself, all the good friends left cause they knew better, and you have to cut off the bad friends. Music became my new addiction. Started 8 months before ai music hit the radar, and guys if you make music, its changing, i dont think this guy understands whats currently going on. But its going to catch up with the mainstream. youll see. Real talk, maybe consider a different hobby? Music is like fashion, some people pull it off, some can study it all day and never pull it off. if i was at 8 years, i would definitely start using that MASTERS DEGREE, i wish i had a masters, but im stuck with music. cause again, dude, music is going to change in ways i cant explain. (it already is)
Exactly. I am a musician who already is inspired by AI music, although I do not use any AI software or stem separation, etc etc, I know its cheating and I genuinely love to produce music in a lot of different genres.
I am inspired by how the idea is you can generate anything, any mixture of genres and sounds, and how AI-generated albums will have a lot of variety in terms of genres due to the fact that it can do anything from jazz to country western lol. Its going to be insane how one artist will have this huge (faked) repertoire in the near future, where they don't actually know how to produce all those genres but they end up having an album that goes all these different places. I think that now is the time for artists to show that they, too, can kind of work like a computer in many ways, show their entire repertoire of sounds that you can produce instead of focusing on one single genre, and show that part of the human ingenuity of real human music.
Music is a healthy choice for most of us! Glad to see you're doing good g!
@@DonnyKirkMusic This AI stuff is getting real that's for sure!
In my humble opinion, you are doing it right. You haven't lost anything till everything is over. You don't know where you will be 10 years from now. You are investing in yourself, that can't ever be a loss.. maybe you want to check out a book called "never play it safe" by Chase Garvis..
I see it that way too! Thanks for the kind words fam! I'll have to look into that book! Appreciate you!
nice stuff. being in the music industry can be a struggle for sure, so u gotta have some insane passion for it to make it through those rough phases. but if u make it worth it, it will feel so damn good. keep up 😁
Exactly! Appreciate it so much!
Not sure how I found this…algorithm I suppose…
I hear you. I do hear you. I’m not laying anything out in the comments. That would take too long…I do hear ya…

What's understood, don't need to be explained! Wishing you the best and thank you for the comment!
mate i feel ya. been addicted to making music for the past 4 years going on 5. however ive noticed that sometime its good to go and do the hang outs and spend a bit of the money because its onlt until you step back from art you stop hyper fixating on the tiny details. it gives you something to write about too, we need new "training data" to we've the same words into a different sentence. all the greats have said they wish they enjoyed the journey more yk. i admire the passion and dedication and remember that it takes 10 yrs to become an over night success but it is good to enjoy the world a little more. Music is the human experience in sound and we cant make it rhyme if we didnt hear it. all in moderation.
Yeah man, you're 100% right! It's easier said than done, and we're all always working on finding the perfect balance! Best of luck to you and I appreciate that comment for real!
Thanks for the important learnings. But at the same time I thought "well that was obvious". But sometimes you just need to experience things on your own to truly learn it or realize it.
For sure! Some thing are definitely obvious but I wanted to emphasize to people the extent to which it happens so they know what they are getting themselves into! Salute!
2:11 a wild doggo appears!
Hahahaha I noticed that after I finished editing and I was like you know what, she gets to stay!
Real motivation
facts
My guy!
just lost/walked out on my job because the one day a week i need for my own dream company, wasn't lined up with them, take the rest of my week i just need this day. "nope"
then why would i work for you? why would i sacrifice for someone not willing to do that?
so im glad,
ill get a new job if i need but now i have real work to do.
Love to hear that! That's a dope mindset to have! Make it happen gang!
hey man good luck and you did the right thing.
@@Frodo1000000 Appreciate it so much gang!
@@inswainaudio yeah I'm subbing you, coz I have the same approach. My closest friend says she could never do it like me - no financial safety in my dream passion, but I couldn't, can't do otherwise. There is no option of failure. I sincerely believe that people who give up on music or say it's too hard or too based on luck to "win" and earn a living through passion, they don't genuinely understand what has to be done. I believe that I can do it, it's a matter of prevalence and smart approach. By smart I mean, most people who say u cant earn living through music or that its too hard, they tend to think u make music in your bedroom, randomly "release" it on Spotify and hope for the best.
OBVIOUSLY that's not the way, what the hell. My plan is to create mesmerising live performances, and also record them for people online to see and attract them to concerts/live performances. i'm not near the kind of performance I want to be able to give, but I have imagined it and i know it's possible. I can't fathom how much I would think of myself as a failure and coward if I let this dream go to do some safe shit. It's not in my optioons, during last few years I have never considered it, it's not on my list, not in my thoughts.
In the end it will all pay off , That's the way carma works .. You seem to give out an honest energy and people will see that in the end .. Lets get it
My guy! Appreciate it! Let's goooo!
Bro, I heard your music. You've got the skills down. Just focus on being more unique and true to yourself in the art you create. Best of luck! Cheers!
Yo man, I appreciate that a lot! Always trying to stay true to myself so I'll keep that in mind! Thank you again!
