Travellers need to get down from the flight through stairs and get into a bus to raech the terminal for baggage collection and to exit

Travellers walk directly to the flight, get into the flight through stairs. Little hard if you have any carry on baggage. But it would be a difefrent experience.

Where is the local bus station located as you come out the terminal to go to Thira??

I am not quite sure exactly, but we did see several buses once were out from the airport. Mught be for Thira, Oia and other places. One thing its clear, that its a small airport and not that hard to find any facilities once we are out.
