Hey everyone, I am so glad you are enjoying this video and I plan to do more like this in the future! keep an eye out for a TH-cam post of when the next round of art submissions will be accepted! I absolutely love helping you guys out with your watercolour skills in anyway way I can! Thank you all so much for the love
I really liked this video. More please!
Yes, more of these videos!
I loved this video and learned so much. Very much looking forward to more of them!
Learning alot from your videos! Tk u
Very helpful! More, please.
Hi Emma ... ironically, this is what you’ve been teaching us along BUT when I watched the comparisons, it hit home even more! Beginners always seem to struggle with the same general things like evenly spacing things and making things in patterns. We need to trick our art brain to work around this. Fantastic idea. You are a wonderful teacher and we really appreciate you.
An excellent and authentic lesson! I love that you care about us fledglings as we embark into watercolors at an early stage. You are a beautiful, talented teacher. Thank you for caring about others and offering this lesson. 🥰
Yes, please do more of these! It really helps us see better! Thanks Emma!
This was a great video! Thank you to the artists who submitted their work - all very good art! ❤️
LOVE how you shared other artists struggles!!! great to see how you help us!!! More videos like this!!!
Yes do more of these. I learned more in this video than I have learned from watching many others. Great info. Thanks.
Emma this sort of 'watercolour clinic' is SO valuable. Most watercolour youtubers don't have that value-add. I am part of a patreon for another watercolour artist and there is nothing this personal and useful on there. Definitely one of your USPs!
This video was really helpful! Loved how you walked through all the submitted artwork and showed how to make the necessary corrections. I would love to see more videos like this. You are a great teacher, explaining everything so well.
Please more of this type, fast strokes and hopefully learning! The faster the looser I’m learning! I watch you and I think I am learning! Thanks and you are a wonderful teacher!🙋♀️🌈Karen Dirmish
I am loving your lessons. You can teach an old dog new tricks. I am 69 and just beginning watercolors. I painted with oils for years but I am so excited about this new form. You have been so helpful and you have brought great joy into my life. Thank you. I may even join Instagram just to know more. Now back to what you are teaching. Keep up the great inspirational work.
I loved example #2, not as a bouquet, but as an example of an illustrative style. Viewing her painting from that point of view, I think it is gorgeous. Perhaps that is the style that suits her the most.
Thank you to all who submitted, and to Emma Jane for clearly addressing these questions. I learned a lot that I can apply to my paintings
I like this type of tutorial where you show the struggles and then how to correct them! Very helpful!
Yes please! these are helpful and fun to watch.
You are awesome, and a natural teacher. Beautiful roses!
she is a good art teacher. Her instructions are very clear and easy to understand.
Yes, more videos with suggested corrections! Very helpful!!!
Thank you young lady I finally found a video that is easy for me to understand. Love the way you teach. ❤
Wow! Thank you so much for doing this video. Your comparisons really helped me see the difference and understand how I could make my paintings look better. This is truly the most helpful video on watercolor painting that I've ever seen and I'm so grateful! I hope you continue to do this type of video at least once in a while. 🙏 You are a wonderful teacher. Thanks again ❤
Wow! Very useful! A heartfelt thank you to all the artists who submitted their work. Emma you are so generous with your advice. Thank you for investing such effort.
That tutorial was sooooo informative and so needed for me. I was not getting the layering and shading concepts.
I learned to go from light to dark! This adds the definition and contrast that I was looking for in my work.
Thank you EmJ !!! Your teachings are so well worked through and the pieces that your other followers sent in were representative of my exact struggles with Water Color Painting right now!!! Thanks, you helped me out a great deal.
Never tire of your informative tutorials. Thank you Emma. x
Thanks so much Emma. Very helpful. You are a great teacher. Keep up the great work. 💝👏
Emma, I can see that teaching is definitely your thing. You have explained all the problems and how to correct them so well. I’ve learnt a lot from this video even though I have been painting for some time now. You never stop learning! Thanks for a great video.
YOU are such a good teacher!!! LOVE YOUR STYLE!!
This was very helpful! Please do more! Can't wait!
Emma, your blue rose drawing is beautiful! Thank you for your ideas.
Yes, please show more work submissions & struggles. This was so helpful! Thank you so much.
Thank you Sooo much Emma jane. Thank u for sharing us your talent
I loved this lesson! I am was not aware of your request. I usually watch you on TH-cam first thing in the morning. When I turned it on this morning and I was so happy to see your subjects. I struggle with leaf leaf placement and water control. I am very much a beginner but truly have learned so much from your videos. I intend to try practicing using your lessons. Thank for teaching me I can draw and paint a little for fun and relaxation.❤️
You’re a great tutor very charming .I have to add your paintings are so free and easy looking , I’m definitely. Going to give it a try 💕
That was terrific, Emma. I particularly liked the way you showed making the picture pop with ‘depth’ darker colour.
YES this is TREMENDOUSLY helpful!! Like you said there's no such thing as a bad painting, yet part of the reason I subscribe to your channel is because I love your style, and getting specific about how YOU achieve the effects in YOUR artwork is so much more useful because it's much less generic and is immediately applicable
Thank you for this informative tutorial. You are a wonderful teacher and artist. Really enjoy watching so keep them coming
Yes more vids! This is a huge help! Thank you!
You have helped me immensely! I may not be there yet but with your encouragement I'll get there. Thanks so much. Need more of this type of tutorial.
Awesome! Great learning experience. Please do more. Thank you!
Completely with you on art critiquing UNLESS you're being asked to comment about intention vs results. Art is such a personal thing - all you can offer is your interpretation of a piece, not whether it's actually good or not.
I would love to see more of these videos this one was very helpful thank you.
Loved the video. So helpful! Thanks to the artists who submitted their work. I learned a lot
Wow! I get answers to so many of doubts. I am a beginner and new subscriber to your channel and handle. Would love to see more such videos. Thank you Emma for making us better. ❤️
great and thanks to those that had the courage to submit their work
Thank you Emma. Loved this video! It was very very informative. It helps a lot to see this kind of information.
Would love to see more of these. All the artists works were great. Thank you to them as well.
Thank you again ! 😊
Emma beautiful watercolour and you are very good teacher ! thank you
Yes, please do more. Loved seeing how to correct a completed work (like the deer and violets).
Funny thing for me is, I KNOW all these concepts. I studied fine art in high school and college, and am trying to get back into it 20 years later. I never really gravitated toward watercolor back then (I was a pen & ink, pastel type of artist). I recently just took an 8-week watercolor course at a local art gallery.
Even though I KNOW these concepts, applying them is easier said than done. And not getting frustrated when you make mistakes over and over!!! Wasting paper and supplies :)
I appreciate the time you took in this video. It was interesting to include your Instagram follower's submissions. I just went and followed you on Instagram myself. Looking forward to more videos as I keep on going (frustratingly) with my watercolor. Thanks!!!
I really loved this Emma and I’d love to see more of these kind of corrective videos. Thank you.😊
Very helpful to hear your comments and then see you demonstrate how to improve. Thank you.
Love it! Like you said, all good art. Your suggestions are wonderful for all of us to see.
Yes please show us more! Its so helpful
You have definitely hit on a great way to teach! When I watch you, I feel like it's just' magic' and I can't see what I'm doing wrong.... but when I see specifically how others struggle, it reall starts to feel 'real'.
Great idea and very helpful. Lost see your finished landscapes!
Invaluable information Emma! Agree that there is no bad art, but not everyone agrees. Tough noogies , I say! Everyone has their own style. Can you please do more on composition. I’m struggling with this sometimes. Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you!
Yes yes please!!! More! I learned so much by seeing exactly what mine usually looks like and then the RIGHT way to do it. I absolutely LOVED the daisy!
Thank you Emma for the good tips and to all who submitted work. I have a long way to go but will persevere x
Yes please! That was so helpful. Thank you so much.
This was VERY useful! Please do more videos like this! Thank you!
this was a huge help to me yesterday in painting some winter floral bundles
Emma you are a great teacher!. This was a wonderful video. I really learn important things. Lerning by comparison is the BEST idea!!!
Very helpful format. Enjoyed watching you address our struggles.
Thank you. Welearn from each other. Play with our art. So we can see and learn. Thank you again.
I love your videos. They are always so clear and helpful. But this one was even more so. As other people said, I think the comparisons really helped illustrate what you were explaining. Thank you!!!
You have an amazing ability to zero in on what is keeping an artist from achieving their goals. I can see the problems, but until you point it out, I can't see how to fix it. It's a little like magic! Very helpful video. I look forward to more like this.
This was awesome. Great tips for all my watercolor problems. You are an awesome teacher.
This was an extremely helpful video. I appreciate how clear you make your instruction. I would love to see more like this one.
I really enjoyed this! It was so very helpful with a lot of tips for me as I struggle with many of the same issues. I would love to see more of these. Thanks so much!
Love your style of teaching and your art skills! Thank you 🙏 for sharing your gifts.
Thanks so much for this invaluable video.. and for all the practical tips you gave. I absolutely love watching your flower tutorials.. they've re-kindled my interest in watercolor.
Definitely would like to see of this type of video - it's always a great help when an advanced artist deals with the practical problems that beginners often face in applying (or even understanding) basic techniques.
It was very helpful to see the "structured" leaves & flowers painted more loosely. Really learned a lot! Thanks.
Excellent demos! Thank you! Would love to see more videos like this one!!
What a great video! Your approach is positive and helpful - such a good teacher.
Thank you so much Emma Jane... Sharing ur knowledge.. 😍
Yes please! More. So helpful!
Yes, please do some more videos like this. Its VERY helpful. Thank you♥️
Thank you so much Emma!!! Yes please more of these videos ❤️❤️❤️
Great video 👌, for bigger piece you can use a fine mist water bottle too, I let the water sit for a minute , spray and swipe brush around again to make sure it's nicely wet but not pooling.
THANK YOU!!!!!! Since I am new to watercolors, this information was priceless!!
Emma, thank you! A great big THANK YOU! This is so very helpful!
Great instructions! Thanks to all the artist who participated and Emma for the critiques
Your work is really great thank you .. 😍 unfortunately too many people dont know that half of watercolour work depends on the type of paper .. i have worked hard on watercolour and watching too many watercolour tutorials but now one said that i have to choose some special paper with special thickness.. and then i knew that i have to choose the right paper .. that time my watercolour paints starts to be professional 😍♥️
Yes, so helpful..some of the same issues that I struggle with. I agree that you have told us many of these tips before, but it really helps to have examples. I would love another one of these and the first thing I would submit is the issue of pooling when I add a darker value for texture on a leaf. Thank you, thank you for your patience with us newbies!
Wow! Gorgeous! I have the same issue with roses/flowers, I’m too structured. This is adorable!
Thank you Emma! This is so helpful. Please, yes, do more of these. We get ourselves into these situations and it's so helpful to know how to correct them and, better yet, to avoid them.
TThis was a great video to help artists see solutions for problems they are having. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Thanks
Yes! Would like to see more of the "struggles" videos
Love this... Thank you and yes, more video instruction for our struggles please. 😊👏🎨
Please do more like this. It really helps!
Loved it. Do more please I learn so much each time from you
Oh my HECK I love love love this video! The examples look so much like my art. Thank you for helping me take it to the next level. I can't wait to re-try the same painting in the new technique.
Seeing different artists work and how to increase color and space was great! I'd love to see more.
I think these critiques are really helpful for everyone. Thank you
Really sweet of you to do this type of video...first time I ever saw this on youtube....and extremely helpful...We can tell you were a teacher of 'beginners" once upon a time. Thanks for all you do...I have no cell, nor instagram...but this is an awesome teaching idea...kudos to you!...You have just helped a TON of beginner watercolour enthusiasts.!!!!
Love to see fixes. I think it is fun and so helpful. Giving me courage to get going!
Yes, would like to see more of these! So helpful to us beginners!
This was so helpful ! thanks to the people who’s example you used. I had the same issues.. yes please more videos like this one. Hugs
Ooo i love the second one..it reminds me of a field of flowers

Thank you, this video was so helpful! Yes, please do more like this. I learned so much.
This was such a great idea! Even though we know these things in theory, seeing the comparisons were SUPER helpful! 👍😁
