I am 74 years old. My daddy loved Elvis, both the man and his music. Back in the day some of the smaller newspapers would publish Elvis' acts of kindness that few ever knew of. Daddy would gather us kids around and read them to us. I remember one in particular that touched me. I was too young to recall dates and exact details but I've not heard it mentioned among his many acts of kindness and would like to tell what I recall. Elvis saw an elderly black woman walking and struggling to carry her groceries. He stopped and asked her if he could help. She gratefully let him put her groceries in his car expecting nothing more than a ride home. He took her to a car dealership and bought her a brand new Cadillac. She was overwhelmed and thanked him crying tears of joy. Elvis told her she would never have to walk again struggling to carry such a heavy load. Daddy put the newspaper down and looked us kids and said, If you grow up to be half as kind as this man I will consider myself as being a successful father. I've had a rough time the last 20 years being the sole caregiver for my daddy, my husband and my 2 brothers. I couldn't save them but I gave everything I had trying. I've been really down since losing my youngest brother in 2015. I came across your video tonight and can't explain how it lifted me up. Your spirit recognizes Elvis' spirit just like my daddy recognized it and how he taught me to recognize it. I feel like I have a family again. Thank you.

Talked to an old head about Elvis the other day. He saw Elvis in concert. Said after about an hour, someone walked out from back stage and whispered in Elvis's ear. He said Elvis covered the mic with his hand, but from where this guy was, he still heard him. Elvis said "These people paid good money to see me, and I'm gonna stop when I feel like it!" He said Elvis sang 3 hrs after that. Hahaha, GOAT!

August 16th is always a sad day for Elvis fans, but at the same time we celebrate the man he was. The impact he had on the world is amazing. At the candlelight vigil this year there were 15,000 people. Think about that, 46 years and his fans are still in love with him. Name me another artist that people travel from around the world to pay their respect to every year on the day of their passing. He was loved for his music, but what keeps everyone in love with Elvis after all these years was Elvis the man, the generous charismatic and loving man he was.
Thank you Helene and Ray for this beautiful request and reaction. Ray you did him proud. I have loved watching you fall in love with Elvis over the past few months. Its people like you that will help keep Elvis memory alive for generations to come.

I grew up on Elvis music. My nana was a huge fan but my momma has always loved his gospel music. They both loved all sides of Elvis's music. Elvis was and is the main reason why I started singing in church, just singing in general. He influenced my life, my style of dress and my love for music and singing in general. I'm not very good at singing but thanks to my hero I have confidence to get up on front of people and sing with all my soul. Thank you Elvis.

Beautiful tribute! Elvis changed my life for the better too, I grew up listening to him and watching his movies in the 90s when girls my age were all about the Backstreet Boys and Nsync, I was an Elvis girl but it wasn't until this year that I took a deep dive into his music and his life and I really started listening to him and seeing him as the heart and soul he is and he brought me back to life where I felt dead and numb from severe depression and a huge mental breakdown that ravaged my mind, heart and soul and trying to pick up the pieces the last two years I am better but was exhausted I was just a shell of a person with no passion just meh, so listening to Elvis really listening to him brought me back from the dead inside this year...I love this man, he has become my friend and big brother and mentor and I never got to meet him but I know him in my heart and soul!
Thank you Ray for your reactions of Elvis they are my stress relief and always bring ne a smile I'm glad to know how many people have been affected by him as I have.. God bless you and yours Ray!

Does anyone know of any other entertainer who people gather together for a tribute either 1 day or a week like we do for Elvis?? It has grown over the years to what it is today...Graceland is the 2nd most visited attraction in the U.S.A. second to the White House.

    • @mikem957

Nope. Linda Thompson said on Tuesday that no other entertainer has as loyal of a fanbase as Elvis does. That is true. MJ fans never gather in thousands for a candlelight vigil. Elvis fans have done it for 45 years.

Paul Simon went to Graceland as he had that song in his mind, Graceland. As soon as he got to Elvis’s grave, he just cried, because he saw how much Elvis was loved and touched the lives of millions. He then went on to write Graceland.

"A connection that goes deeper than just the music"...
You got it exactly right. Whether you're from that first generation of fans, the current, newest generation of fans or everyone in between, we all feel that deeper connection with Elvis. And the more you know, the more you love him.
Ray, I've always said I feel certain that he would get a kick out of you & your sense of humor. I now feel certain that he'd fully appreciate the work you're doing & understand what you mean & what you say.
I also think that what you're describing, the feeling you have for Elvis, has to do with your tender heart.
Elvis had a tender heart & he would see that same trait in you. I believe he would recognize you as a kindred spirit. Regardless of time, place, dimension or plane of existence..he would recognize you.
Maybe he already has. Maybe he will one day, on the other side. But there's a silver thread that connects kindred spirits. It's already there.
I pray Elvis is happy, healthy & whole where he is..& fully aware how much he is still loved & how much we miss him.
Thank you for this heartfelt tribute. We love Elvis. And we love you too, Ray.

Thank you Relvis for this special presentation on the anniversary of Elvis’s death. His death always hits us to the man who inspired us and continues to do so. He loved gospel and knew he loved God. He loved us. That is what separates him from many . I’m not sure if all entertainers loved their fans as he did. Perhaps they do but I don’t appreciate their love. My granddaughters love him and saw Austin Butler play Elvis and learned about why he died, not how he died. They have been profoundly affected by his contribution to history and his sheer power and non deniable handsomeness. May you RIP Elvis ❤

He is magic and there is no other explanation. He was not a saint but he was a special man. He knew he was sick and didn't stop because he didn't want to let his fans down. He had a work ethic that was like his generation. He was never above others he wanted to friends and family. He felt he had to be a success for his family and his twin brother. He never stop believing in God and country. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was a good soldier and American. Thank you for this wonderful tribute.

I’m rewatching all your reactions of Elvis because I get it. I feel that connection also and I can’t explain it. I just remembered the day he died. I felt a piece of me died that day too. The world stood still that day & I couldn’t wait to get home from work so I could bawl my eyes out. I was a Nurse, age 25 & I could not believe it. What a sad, sad day that was. They wouldn’t allow us to tell our Cardiac patients in case they became too emotional, so I had to pretend nothing was wrong and allowed their families to tell them. I have a 6 foot Elvis in his leather standing up in my room. I look at him and smile every time except the day Lisa Marie died. That day I cried like a baby thinking he lost his baby & then I recalled they were together. May they both RIP. God bless you Ray and Elvis too. ❤❤❤😊🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

To have watched the progression of your admiration and love for Elvis, your quest for knowledge and your willingness to take the time and dive deeper into the complexities of Elvis has been inspirational to watch. Your reactions have made me smile, laugh out loud and cry. I appreciate your willingness to be vulnerable to us, and, speaking for myself, we love you for it. It says a lot about the man you are that you can be so in tune with yourself as to be affected by the powerful message within the soul of Elvis Presley and his music and his life. He is his music, he is the message in each song, he is the phenomenally kind and generous, loving and caring human being that never forgot his own struggles and losses of his life thereby ALWAYS giving back!!!!!!!!!

During a hard time in my life, I used to listen to this song, over, and over with headphones. I would hear every breath intake, and every minute sound Elvis made during pauses. I still amaze at the vocal beauty, and spiritual energy he gave that song. Now, so many years later, many of his performances touch me the same way, but this one will always be special. Thank you for sharing!

You’ll never walk alone takes me back to 16th august 1977 when it was played at the end of tv broadcasting in England. Gives me chills every time I hear it. What a man, what a voice , what an absolute gift from God he was. For us, he gave his all and like John Lennon said “before Elvis there was nothing “. Thank you for this reaction. I miss him, yet I never him. That’s a powerful impact to have on someone. He was truly a genius at his craft and that’s why he’s still loved and remembered 46 years on. God love him 💙

I have been a fan since birth. I was 13 when he died. It was like losing a family member. I am still not over his death. I listen to Elvis everyday. Now we have lost Lisa and that hit me hard as well. I loved her as if she was a family member too. Elvis sang Gospel music like no other. It’s his Gospel music that I prefer to listen to. He was a wonderful man. No one will ever compare to him, in looks, talent, charisma & style. He had it all.

Thank you Ray for this beautiful tribute. Elvis, like all of us, was only human. We all make mistakes, even Elvis. The one thing we do have in common is our love for God and Jesus. I tink think of Elvis as a disciple, showing and spreading the love and joy of Jesus. We can all be disciples. 🙏❤

You are so right. I love to see the Elvis reactions from the young people who gave him a chance and now see what they were missing. At this point I think he will never be forgotten. He is just getting bigger.. There will never be another entertainer that makes people feel so much love with just his presence. I am 68 and I became a fan when I was 6. I was looking for cartoons as a six year old and stumbled across Elvis on the tv screen. I never stopped loving this guy. He is an addiction like a really good drug...and it makes me feel good. Thanks for your videos. I am proud of you.

Hey R’Elvis, thank you for taking the time to make this wonderful tribute. Elvis was 100% U S MALE. A true patriot, served his country, loved his country and every one of his millions of fans. When he went to Germany, he was overwhelmed by all the love and support from German fans. Same when he visited Paris, same when he landed in Prestwick,Britain for a single hour, the fans heard he was there and flooded to see him. He always worried he’d be forgotten. On the 46th anniversary of his death, we are all seeing that he’s far from forgotten. He’s still an inspiration, he’s still holding his own in the music industry, cut throat at the best of times. 15,000 people were at his Vigil at Graceland. You have connected with Elvis because you are an intuitive and curious person who appreciates pure unadulterated talent and joy. It’s a joy to all of us old time Elvis Fans, who’ve loved him from the 50’s onwards, to see the new waves of all age groups, picking up the baton to keep his legacy to the world ,alive and relevant. Once an Elvis Fan, always an Elvis Fan!!! So although he was technically an American citizen, he is actually a gift to the whole world. He’d be humbled and proud and very happy to meet you. He always appreciated hard work, talented individuals and would be so happy to have inspired your work. 🙏👌💕🕺
