      Ironically; I've been out of skating for almost a decade now, and I saw nothing new. Everything he's doing are things we did 15 years ago. I'm not taking anything away from him, but -- you know who's the best to ever do it? Julian Cudot; I mean dude is doing hurrican top souls into cork 900 off's. That's "new" people weren't doing video game tricks when I skated 15 years ago. This guy can't touch that.

    I was on the fence about blading again for years after getting sober. After watching John's first jump street episode I ordered a pair that night. I took another 2 years to get my weight down from 230/240 pounds back to 170. But this year I actually feel better than I did at 20 when I stopped skating. Even just solo skating around town at night in a dead town is an amazing feeling.

    Bolino is incredible talent that aggressive inline has been lacking for the last several years. Amazing comeback! The level of productivity is enormous.
    I also like their new brand. And it's really cool how the guys not only talk but also bring things to life.
    Congratulations on the new pro model! I am so proud for Billy and John to make it happen!
    It seems that a lot of things start happen in the US right now.

      Thanks Dave! I think his adoption of new trends is really exciting. Feels like the whole team thrive off each other

    • @SageRhyme
      @SageRhyme 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TomMoyse What trends are you talking about? I saw nothing new at all in this video you made here... Mushroom blading has always been a thing, he's just mushroom blading + with some old school hardcore -- which by point of fact, is what every good professional did, like Browskow/Shima/Morales..... like... what do you mean new trends?
      I'm not trying to trash you, I just don't like when people say things to hear themselves talk -- you keep saying "new trends" "mix of old and new" "new style" but you haven't showed anything new, or gave a description of a single new trend.... You're saying it, to say it -- you're not saying it, because it's true. That's not to say the skating was bad... I just have been skating since 1996 and I can't find a single new trend he's adopted.... We been doing this shit. Julian Cudot is doing new shit; and I don't think you can even call it a Trend, there are only two skaters I know that are flipping off rails.

    Wasn't expecting it to be Jon but that's because I didn't know anything about skating in the time I was out. I do have a pair of his SSMs though. Given what you've shared here it does seem like a pretty amazing comeback! Demetrious George is the next comeback to watch.

    • @TomMoyse
      @TomMoyse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Defo watch his edits. Probably one of the best street skaters ever. I had a few thoughts on Demetrious and compared the two. Bolino’s first VOD back wins 3rd best profile of the year from One mag. He drops another edit, same year arguably better than the first but not eligible for the awards. He Wins Comeback of the year 2020. 22k views combines after the edit are released for free on TH-cam (no idea the download numbers on the VOD). He’s adapting and evolving, bringing something new along with elements of what we are used to. 2021 two edits cumulative views 27k. 2nd at blading cup, 1st FMI two weeks later. Earns Pro Skate. Fully adopts new style of skating showing massive versatility, still full of tech, creativity and stunty tricks. Is not only completely relevant again but also pushing skating. I’d put him in SOTY with Dom, Levi and Nils..(probably others I’m missing). I personal put a lot of weight in ability to adapt and stay relevant at an elite level. He’s doing new stuff, he has a massive broad skill set and appeal.
      DG 1st SBS, 1st BASS, BPSO 2 + best trick. Great insta clips, skating almost like he used to. No edit due to injury (wish him a speedy recovery)(Bolino dropped 4 edits within 12 months all well received), no new pro skate. Will probably win comeback on the year if that is a category.
      How do you compare comps win?? Who else skated them? Hard one. His skating is phenomenal, but for me personally I don’t see evolution of tricks. He has his style of skating he likes it, he rips so fair play to him, he can do what he wants. But I rate adaptability more and range more - I think it has more appeal for people to be drawn into the sport and stay with it. There is still time for DG to add to his comeback achievements.
      This is how I came to my opinion.

    Finally had my time to watch!
    I'll briefly put few words, in general, just before I'll let You read the last sentence and black heart 😅
    I really didn't feel FOUR DOTS hype at first when I came back to blading after nearly 7yrs hiatus, at the begining of this year (yeah, I'm one of these comeback dudes lol) wasn't really paying attention, life paths changed, simple.
    But after a little while I was like, ok, I'll give it a try and try to convince myself. But it still wasn't my jam, just that. Jon J is doing great work, nonetheless!... although, I'll never understand the width of the soulplate, haha (I know it's widened now, but well... preferences).
    Anyway, You were one of these platforms which made me think twice about the whole movement and what has really happened over the time of my absence.
    I can tell straight away - MESMER media is the thing which I really, really enjoy to watch, John B stays in front of the whole thing of course, skatingwise, but the whole package of the team riders is just doing more than great work - there's literally nothing which really had to push or convince me to like it in full from scratch.
    Also, watching John B adopting new wave into his vocab and translating it with his touch to it - madly mindblowing - Tsar Bomb he is.
    And last but not least - You did, again, completely bonkers job with the commentary/vid. Hands down! Don't stop!
    🖤
