Gung Ho (1986) Sneak Previews review

Here's Jeffrey Lyons and Michael Medved reviewing the 1986 Ron Howard culture clash comedy Gung Ho on the movie review show Sneak Previews. The movie stars Michael Keaton reteaming with Howard for the second time (their first collaboration was the 1982 comedy Night Shift, which was Keaton's first major movie role). Both Keaton's popularity as an actor and Howard's popularity as a director were beginning to rise even before making Gung Ho. Keaton scored a big hit after Night Shift with his next film, Mr. Mom (released the following year in 1983 and was one of the top 10 highest grossing movies of that year). In between Night Shift and Gung Ho, Howard directed two critically acclaimed movies that went on to be big box office hits: 1984's Splash and 1985's Cocoon. Keaton and Howard would both continue on to make successful movies throughout their careers after Gung Ho.
