Purple is my most favorite color. I’ve got a purple phone I have purple water bottles I love purple. Funnily enough though, I don’t decorate with purple very often, or wear purple, I just like purple accessories, purple books, purple everything else lol. Love it. Purple “is my signature color” haha.
Green is my favorite color! I also just realized that I have a shirt that I always seem to wear when I take my kids to the doctor. It's periwinkle and navy striped. It's both calming and increases my focus. I call it my get sh*t done shirt
I was gifted a book on color influence in the art of feng shui. I choose my flowers surrounding my first home in 1997 using these guidelines. I use these correspondences in crafting my workings. I love your video, it adds to my established practice. Side note: I am traveling from New Orleans to Atlanta for the mystic south conference. My first Magick festival/gathering! I just love color, but I'm drawn most to the green-blues. Turquoise, teal, etc. They are so calming and comfortable to me. But I also love earthy colors, mustard, forest green, camel/tobacco, and rust are some of my favorite colors to wear.
My colour is pink since when I was a child. Two persons approached me saying that I had a beautiful pink aura around me. i can't see it, but I associate pink with motherly love, because I saw pink when I was depressed, and it saved my mental health.
I've spent a long time studying color psychology in art and biological response. Thank you for not regurgitating the same unresearched stuff that typically gets presented. If you, or others, want a great book on the topic "Color and Human Response" by Faber Birren is a fantastic book on the subject.
I'll rank my favorite colors actually; I'm an artist and many artists are kind of picky with colors in their own way: 1. Red (There are very few shades of red I don't care for, and none I can think to hate) 2. Light Blue/azure (Gorgeous color) 3. Violet/purple (It's pretty) 4. Black (powerful, go with everything) 5. White (also goes with everything) 6. Pink (it's light red, but like calmer usually. And if it's not I don't really care for it.) 7. Yellow (I used to hate yellow but now it's a really nice color in my eyes) 8. Teal/turquoise (I usually substitute this for green but as its own color it's a very pleasant one) 9. Dark blue/navy (in the right shade it can be calming, but if it's too dark on certain objects or walls it can be unsettling) 10. Gray (very neutral, but I like that it can be hued easily) 11. Green (this highly depends on the shade of green. I like olive green and pastel yellow-green, but loathe some types of dark green) 12. Brown (similar to green, it highly depends on the shade of brown, but there are more shades of brown I simply don't care for. Fawn is my favorite shade of brown) 13. Orange (some oranges are nice, but overall it's not my favorite) 14. Indigo (it's pretty but also I feel like there's a very small variety of indigo compared to other colors) 15. Magenta (see Indigo)

i might be the only one who loves chartreuse. and i also love greys.. even though she said its not really a color. i painted my bedroom Gotham Grey and i love it.
Chartreuse is really zesty and exciting!! I actually kinda like it! The yellow-greens that I don't like are the ones that look like puke... 😂 And Gotham Grey is gorgeous 🤩
Growing up purple was the 1 and only, then I went into the cooler tones for some years (blue, green, teal) , in the last 3 years I really got into oranges, red is still not the fav but I see beauty in it. Yellow I just find kind of boring to look at but when someone has a beautiful energy I think they are yellow lol I have all the colors around me in my space and I enjoying seeing them all.

I tend to stick with blue-green-violet triad plus black. Researching the colors can be very interesting. Like some people say that white gown of bride is actually a symbol of death, because during the wedding she is -- spiritually -- staying in Liminal space, almost as a dead. And only after a woman becomes a part of groom's family she becomes safe from this Liminal space. At least this works for some regions in the culture I am from.

My favourite clour is purple, usually a darker deep purple (also love the band by the same name! ) I also like red and blue. I know you couldn't cover all the colours but I was wonderi g about brown. When we moved to the country from a big city, I really felt like I wanted to be surrounded by earthy colours. We have a lot of light and dark brown wood and cream colours inside with tons of green plant. The roof is sky blue. My "witch's den" is a deep purple with brown undertones called "Insolent purple." 😅

Great video Ivy! I'm thinking I might try writing notes in specific colors for different effects like blue for clarity to help me remember things better, yellow for things I want to get excited about, etc. As for my favorite colors, they're green, orange, and purple.
I love how you are able to wade through the nonsense. I always wondered about green and now I realise that it made no sense to me because we don't have green money in the UK. I also associate colours with different feelings and it doesn't really match the typical colour correspondents so I pretty much never used them. But as I have made my own correspondences with plant spirits I can do the same with colour.

This was so interesting. For my entire life I have been repelled by the colors red and orange. They make me quite anxious. I'm sure there are emotional and psychological reasons this is so. I don't work with them at all. I love green and blue and purple. These are the colors that speak to me and work for me.
Oh yes... There are usually emotional and psychological reasons why we are repelled by certain colors. Red and orange are the two colors that seem to repel people the most because they can be a bit aggressive - especially to someone who is a bit more sensitive, maybe a bit anxious, or easily overly-stimulated. If you are a highly-sensitive person (HSP) which I find is very common in the spiritual community, then the energy from red and orange may be a bit too intense for you. Also, it's really interesting once you start looking into the chakra system! I always hated red and orange which are related to the root and sacral chakras. When I finally started to heal my chakras from childhood trauma, I found that my root and sacral chakras were the worst... They were extremely deficient. So one thing I did was start incorporating oranges and reds into my life (pretty shades that I could actually stand) in order to stimulate these chakras and move them out of deficiency. The change I experienced was incredible! So anyways, I'm being a little long-winded here. What I'm trying to say is that there's probably a deep-seeded reason why you don't like reds and oranges. It might be worth exploring! ☺️💜💙💚
Any shade of blue is my favorite but I gravitate towards blue green shades the most. The color of the ocean. Also love pumpkin orange and sunflower yellow. They make me super happy and hyper. While blue and green chill me out

I don't know how to choose a favourite colour...green...no wait dusty pink ..but then I do love baby blue or even rusty orange...and then there's red! I love fall colors too! It sounds like you enjoy colors that have a little more black and brown in them. Fall colors have a lot of depth to them. Any time you see a color that has more brown and black, there is an intensity and depth to it. So, all of it's original meanings are deepened and magnified. This definitely fits with you having a lot of Scorpio and Sag because Scorpio is all about traveling to the deepest, darkest depths. And Sagittarius is all about knowledge, wisdom, and exploring as far as one can possibly go. The blue fits in really nicely here as well! Blue is very mental which fits your need to go deep within the psyche. (I have a Sagittarius Moon that I really identify with, so I can relate here!)

Great info, thanks! I've always been a pink and turquoise gal but recently I've been drawn to green for some reason. I have green eyes and my maiden name is Green yet the only time I wanted to see green was in nature. I now have 4 green tee shirts, 3 green camis, my alter cloth is emerald velour, I was looking at green blouses online last week, and I'm sitting here trying to decide which green print material I'm Going to use to make a bag for my Celtic Goddess Oracle deck. After 60something years, I have an appreciation for green. 😊
This reaction is coming so late I know I forgot too watch one of your video. This topic is always interesting. As a lover of art, I've always paid attention to how colors can change the 'feel' of a piece of artwork. I'm still amazed how much color can change my mood. Similar to how music can. I'm not going to stand out in my favorite color picks. 😂 I too love green and purple. The shades I tend to like have changed a bit over the years. I still love that deep purple, but I've come to really love lavendel purple as I started to enjoy more pinks around me. My favorite green shades are mint green, emerald and a dark olive green. I still quite enjoy Midnight and azure blue. As well as some ahades of pink and burned orange mixed with gold. I definitely agree that our cultural background changes what colors we pick in magick. I don't associate green with money in any way. For me green comes into play when I want to do some working on things like stable growth, peace, and health. For money I tend to grab gold. (sometimes together with silver or silver if I don't have gold.) As I associate that with, well, gold, riches, money, as well as divine energy. Sometimes I might use golden yellow if I don't have gold colored candles. I love yule season for that's the time I can get all types of gold, silver, or copper candles I could dream of.

I usually wear black, grey, dark blue...sometimes a white shirt. For me I use said colors for certain things. Black: a perfect representation of infinity, absorbsion, protection, hidden abyss, it is usually regarded as no color - being devoid of everything, in many aspects it is but by the same token it is not...if you mix all colors from a pallet - you get black, so it's literally an absorbsion of all colors. Dark Blue: all things magickal, psychic, healing, intelligence, the deep unconscious. I always imagine the deep dark currents of my psyche - an unending ocean of mystery & magick. White: Purity, light, cleansing, rebirth, renewal & truth. In the light spectrum, it is also every color much like black, but it's opposite in that it is the light to our darkness. Grey: a blend of both black & white often regarded as dull, but it is in fact...the ultimate color, the best of both worlds, balance, neutrality, duality & unison. Yin & Yang merged as one! I, myself, as a goth, definitely do have a heaviness of one color or "shade" in my life. I have not worn an article of clothing that wasn't black, grey, or red in... 3 years? At least. So I'm out here to be the weirdo and say my favorite color is black. And if your a color purest and don't like me calling black a color (cause it's not) then it's orange.
I wish you could make each video like.....4 hours long? That would be nice 😂 and extremely unpractical. Anyways yes it all is very subjectice!! I find dark red so calming and comfortable. Then you said red screams "pay attention to me!" And I audibly laughed because I dyed my hair back to red laat night 😂 but that's not why, I promise! And yellows association with happiness was always so curious to me. I don't like it very much and I find yellow fairly hard to look at. I alao have a few negative conotations with it. I have summer SAD how most people get winter SAD. I just discovered this recently and it was SO helpful to learn that it even exists!! When the sun shines on me I just feel...quite annoyed and it makes me want to retreat into the shade or darkness. Which is probably odd for a leo-virgo cusp. 😅 and uh...growing up in Texas, let's just say it was EXTREMELY depressing for me. Especially because I'm very intolerant to the heat. In addition to all of that, I have this perfectly vivid memory of my abuser coming to pick my mom and I up to take ua back with him after I thought we were safe. It was just him and I outside standing in the driveway. I was only 6 at the time but I remember feeling that the energy was very awkward so I started talking to break the silence and I asked him what his favorite color. In a very annoyed way he quickly answered "yellow". I hated yellow for years, even holding a prejudice against those who loved the color themselves (I was a child lol).. As I grew older I realized this isn't representative of someones personality in that way. But as someone with PTSD I just cannot find happiness in that color. So I replace yellow with pink, red, or white. And I love that you mentioned the connotations of white and black! I always thought people associated black with negativity because of the black plague it made parts of the body turn black and you eventually turn black as your dead body rots, as do some plants and animals, etc. But again, as I grew older I realized it was a little deeper than that. Black reminds me of night which I absolutely love due to the calm energy that I feel at night. Most are asleep, their thoughts have slowed, the energy is not as congested and I find it so fantastic. So yes I highly agree that you should use colors however you feel that you ahould based on how they effect you! Get your mad scientist on and experiment with these things!! 😊❤ blessed be.

I'm full of dad jokes. I'm not sure what you mean by jewel tones... Do you mean like, gold, silver, metallic colors? As far as pastels go, usually people are gravitated towards pastel if they really enjoy soothing colors. Pastels have a lot of white in it which is going to be very sedating and cleansing. So if you have a really chaotic environment, or if you're just a person that gets overstimulated easily, then pastels are great! Because they help counteract all the noise and stimulation around us. Sounds like you enjoy feeling relaxed and mellow!

People who really enjoy going deep into their mind, their emotions, etc. are really going to be drawn to these colors. They are not only deep, they are rich and complex. It sounds like you might be less interested in the superficial and more interested in diving deep into the meanings of life. And you might find that your taste changes daily depending on what you need. If you need to feel more calm, you might gravitate towards pastels a bit more. If you feel the need to be moved, emotionally, mentally, physically, in a deep and meaningful way, then you might gravitate more towards the jewel tones!

Great video Ivy! I'm thinking I might try writing notes in specific colors for different effects like blue for clarity to help me remember things better, yellow for things I want to get excited about, etc. As for my favorite colors, they're green, orange, and purple.
I love how you are able to wade through the nonsense. I always wondered about green and now I realise that it made no sense to me because we don't have green money in the UK. I also associate colours with different feelings and it doesn't really match the typical colour correspondents so I pretty much never used them. But as I have made my own correspondences with plant spirits I can do the same with colour.
I like purple and green, however now to align to my glamor magic with my venus scorpio in my chart, I'm now embracing my black and red colors

This was so interesting. For my entire life I have been repelled by the colors red and orange. They make me quite anxious. I'm sure there are emotional and psychological reasons this is so. I don't work with them at all. I love green and blue and purple. These are the colors that speak to me and work for me.
Oh yes... There are usually emotional and psychological reasons why we are repelled by certain colors. Red and orange are the two colors that seem to repel people the most because they can be a bit aggressive - especially to someone who is a bit more sensitive, maybe a bit anxious, or easily overly-stimulated. If you are a highly-sensitive person (HSP) which I find is very common in the spiritual community, then the energy from red and orange may be a bit too intense for you. Also, it's really interesting once you start looking into the chakra system! I always hated red and orange which are related to the root and sacral chakras. When I finally started to heal my chakras from childhood trauma, I found that my root and sacral chakras were the worst... They were extremely deficient. So one thing I did was start incorporating oranges and reds into my life (pretty shades that I could actually stand) in order to stimulate these chakras and move them out of deficiency. The change I experienced was incredible! So anyways, I'm being a little long-winded here. What I'm trying to say is that there's probably a deep-seeded reason why you don't like reds and oranges. It might be worth exploring! ☺️💜💙💚
Any shade of blue is my favorite but I gravitate towards blue green shades the most. The color of the ocean. Also love pumpkin orange and sunflower yellow. They make me super happy and hyper. While blue and green chill me out

I don't know how to choose a favourite colour...green...no wait dusty pink ..but then I do love baby blue or even rusty orange...and then there's red! I'm so happy you finally made this video....so informative as always...thanks Ivy...I love fall colors, so a mix of orange, yellow, gold....however, I think subconsciously, I'm drawn to the color blue...I wonder if this is all related to astrology...I have a lot of Sag and Scorpio in my chart.
I love fall colors too! It sounds like you enjoy colors that have a little more black and brown in them. Fall colors have a lot of depth to them. Any time you see a color that has more brown and black, there is an intensity and depth to it. So, all of it's original meanings are deepened and magnified. This definitely fits with you having a lot of Scorpio and Sag because Scorpio is all about traveling to the deepest, darkest depths. And Sagittarius is all about knowledge, wisdom, and exploring as far as one can possibly go. The blue fits in really nicely here as well! Blue is very mental which fits your need to go deep within the psyche. (I have a Sagittarius Moon that I really identify with, so I can relate here!)

Great info, thanks! I've always been a pink and turquoise gal but recently I've been drawn to green for some reason. I have green eyes and my maiden name is Green yet the only time I wanted to see green was in nature. I now have 4 green tee shirts, 3 green camis, my alter cloth is emerald velour, I was looking at green blouses online last week, and I'm sitting here trying to decide which green print material I'm Going to use to make a bag for my Celtic Goddess Oracle deck. After 60something years, I have an appreciation for green. 😊

This reaction is coming so late I know I forgot too watch one of your video. This topic is always interesting. As a lover of art, I've always paid attention to how colors can change the 'feel' of a piece of artwork. I'm still amazed how much color can change my mood. Similar to how music can. I'm not going to stand out in my favorite color picks. 😂 I too love green and purple. The shades I tend to like have changed a bit over the years. I still love that deep purple, but I've come to really love lavendel purple as I started to enjoy more pinks around me. My favorite green shades are mint green, emerald and a dark olive green. I still quite enjoy Midnight and azure blue. As well as some ahades of pink and burned orange mixed with gold. I definitely agree that our cultural background changes what colors we pick in magick. I don't associate green with money in any way. For me green comes into play when I want to do some working on things like stable growth, peace, and health. For money I tend to grab gold. (sometimes together with silver or silver if I don't have gold.) As I associate that with, well, gold, riches, money, as well as divine energy. Sometimes I might use golden yellow if I don't have gold colored candles. I love yule season for that's the time I can get all types of gold, silver, or copper candles I could dream of.

I usually wear black, grey, dark blue...sometimes a white shirt. For me I use said colors for certain things.
Black: a perfect representation of infinity, absorbsion, protection, hidden abyss, it is usually regarded as no color - being devoid of everything, in many aspects it is but by the same token it is not...if you mix all colors from a pallet - you get black, so it's literally an absorbsion of all colors.
Dark Blue: all things magickal, psychic, healing, intelligence, the deep unconscious. I always imagine the deep dark currents of my psyche - an unending ocean of mystery & magick.
White: Purity, light, cleansing, rebirth, renewal & truth. In the light spectrum, it is also every color much like black, but it's opposite in that it is the light to our darkness.
Grey: a blend of both black & white often regarded as dull, but it is in fact...the ultimate color, the best of both worlds, balance, neutrality, duality & unison. Yin & Yang merged as one!

I, myself, as a goth, definitely do have a heaviness of one color or "shade" in my life. I have not worn an article of clothing that wasn't black, grey, or red in... 3 years? At least.
So I'm out here to be the weirdo and say my favorite color is black. And if your a color purest and don't like me calling black a color (cause it's not) then it's orange.
I wish you could make each video like.....4 hours long? That would be nice 😂 and extremely unpractical. Anyways yes it all is very subjectice!! I find dark red so calming and comfortable. Then you said red screams "pay attention to me!" And I audibly laughed because I dyed my hair back to red laat night 😂 but that's not why, I promise! And yellows association with happiness was always so curious to me. I don't like it very much and I find yellow fairly hard to look at. I alao have a few negative conotations with it. I have summer SAD how most people get winter SAD. I just discovered this recently and it was SO helpful to learn that it even exists!! When the sun shines on me I just feel...quite annoyed and it makes me want to retreat into the shade or darkness. Which is probably odd for a leo-virgo cusp. 😅 and uh...growing up in Texas, let's just say it was EXTREMELY depressing for me. Especially because I'm very intolerant to the heat. In addition to all of that, I have this perfectly vivid memory of my abuser coming to pick my mom and I up to take ua back with him after I thought we were safe. It was just him and I outside standing in the driveway. I was only 6 at the time but I remember feeling that the energy was very awkward so I started talking to break the silence and I asked him what his favorite color. In a very annoyed way he quickly answered "yellow". I hated yellow for years, even holding a prejudice against those who loved the color themselves (I was a child lol).. As I grew older I realized this isn't representative of someones personality in that way. But as someone with PTSD I just cannot find happiness in that color. So I replace yellow with pink, red, or white. And I love that you mentioned the connotations of white and black! I always thought people associated black with negativity because of the black plague it made parts of the body turn black and you eventually turn black as your dead body rots, as do some plants and animals, etc. But again, as I grew older I realized it was a little deeper than that. Black reminds me of night which I absolutely love due to the calm energy that I feel at night. Most are asleep, their thoughts have slowed, the energy is not as congested and I find it so fantastic. So yes I highly agree that you should use colors however you feel that you ahould based on how they effect you! Get your mad scientist on and experiment with these things!! 😊❤ blessed be.

I'm not sure what you mean by jewel tones... Do you mean like, gold, silver, metallic colors? As far as pastels go, usually people are gravitated towards pastel if they really enjoy soothing colors. Pastels have a lot of white in it which is going to be very sedating and cleansing. So if you have a really chaotic environment, or if you're just a person that gets overstimulated easily, then pastels are great! Because they help counteract all the noise and stimulation around us. Sounds like you enjoy feeling relaxed and mellow!

People who really enjoy going deep into their mind, their emotions, etc. are really going to be drawn to these colors. They are not only deep, they are rich and complex. It sounds like you might be less interested in the superficial and more interested in diving deep into the meanings of life. And you might find that your taste changes daily depending on what you need. If you need to feel more calm, you might gravitate towards pastels a bit more. If you feel the need to be moved, emotionally, mentally, physically, in a deep and meaningful way, then you might gravitate more towards the jewel tones!

I like to surround myself in color! And it truly does depend on what I'm feeling on what specific color palette I'll wear. I guess I'm a "gypsy" like that and I love how that makes me feel!
