I have a 14, 13, and 5 year old. My older two clean their own rooms and have since they were 10/11. But mama comes in and helps occasionally and sometimes when they’re not home I’ll go in and clean it for them as a special surprise. They don’t expect it but they love that surprise. My youngest is actually going to be sharing a room with his older brother soon and when he does, he’ll learn to clean his room with his older brother. It just makes life easier for us mamas. We already have enough on our plate ☺️💖
I grew up on a farm in small town northern Minnesota and my mom worked full time and my dad also worked a ton of hours (he was obviously a farmer so he would pretty much work from sun up to sun down). I will say that because both of my parents were gone during the day, I have a lot of chores ~~ not only cleaning my own room but also cleaning the house, doing the dishes, washing / folding / putting away the laundry, feeding some of the animals, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow in the winter months, etc. The only thing that my mom did when she got home from work was make supper. During the summer months when I was not in school I would also have to help my dad with things like picking rocks, cleaning animal pens, unloading hay, preparing wood for burning in the stove during the winter, weeding the garden, picking vegetables when they were ripe, etc. You never dared to ever say that you were bored because trust me, my dad could find things for you to do. And I had chores that I needed to do every single day and you best bet that my parents never had to ask me if my work was done because then I would be in trouble. And I had to do all of these things pretty much from the time that I was 9 or 10 ~ some things even before then.
I love the vacuum story I do the same thing I will pull out the vacuum for one small thing and can’t stop myself from doing the entire apartment.. sometimes I feel like I am the only one..
I’m totally the same way, I bottle up my emotions and they come out at random times, and sometimes it doesn’t even have to do with what we are talking about lol.
Each and every one of your videos is motivating, satisfying and entertaining. The hard work you put in is evident yet it’s clear that this is what you’re meant to be doing because youre a natural! 😍😍

"Wiping the counters like a crazy woman..." Pretty tame life!!! Loved watching you clean your kids rooms. They are still young so clean away. When they hit highschool pick your battles. My kids were so productive and got such great grades that I felt picking at them to make their beds was a little petty. They grew up in a clean house and carried that into adulthood... for the most part.
I can't wait to get into my new house in a couple of weeks and vacuum my carpeted bedrooms. I even got the new Shark vacuum and haven't used it yet. We've been renting for 15 years and have concrete floors. I love to vacuum and am obsessed with carpet lines, lol. I always love watching your videos. Your cleaning style is a lot like mine. Love seeing how you cleaned the girls rooms and put their toys away so neatly took me back to when my girls were young. They’re grown now and I have teenage grandchildren but it made nice memories. We have engineered hardwood floors and had them in our previous house. Here in the UK they’re definitely the best flooring to have. Our original ones were down for about seven years and still looked like new and they’re so easy to keep clean. We use Method Good for Wood floor cleaner. Love your videos.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who dislikes engineered hardwood! We put that in our house when we built 6 years ago and I regret it so much. Not practical at all if you have kids and/or pets.

Cleaned my kitchen to this, but was excited to see those school bins... I finished one for my 5 yr old for kindergarten... one thing I added with a plastic, zip folder to keep with the bin so anytime you need to transport important documents from this bin for like school enrollment you throw them in it for protection and then can return them without removing folders. Mine was only $.97 at Wal-Mart.

I love your videos and I am so happy to give my opinion! I definitely think you should have the utensils on the countertop next to the oven. Put it on a small lazy suzen so you can get whatever you need easily. Put a decorative jar with those pretty matching spoons and spatulas together and leave the odd shaped, uneven utensils in the drawer, organized. On the counter, the organized look will be helpful, look nice and help keep things feeling homey without clutter!!!

I have to say I love food better in the air fryer as well! But idk how to use ours so when I want something got to go to my sister for help lol. But I prefer standard over play dough any day as well it always gets mixed up. I think it’s so sweet how your girls offered to help clean with mama!

For the boys night stands get the bumper guards for furniture. You put them on the corners of the night stands or whatever has sharp edges. We had to get that for my sister. She has dementia and she would fall a lot and hit her head or whatever and it helped. Just a thought.

Drawer dividers! You can find them on Amazon and they will adjust to drawer size. I use them in my kitchen and love them. You can get wooden ones for esthetic or plastic

Thanks for being real! So glad your kids have clutter in their rooms and you have crumbs on your counter!! One thing we did with our kids school memory box was to put all the file folders in - through 12th grade, so I don't have to go looking for them and they have matching file folders, lol!❤️

I really love the containers you made for the kids school papers. I wasn’t as organized but every once in awhile come across some school projects.
I love kinetic sand. Our kids got a bunch for Christmas. But it’s already all gone. They kept leaving it on the floor. I much prefer it over play-doh too.
So on August 5th,2021 my cat Salty past away.. It was soo sad an devastating for me .. He would always stay in the window .. He went to heaven an I miss him soo much.. but I say that to say this I watch all of your videos an sometimes the old ones for motivation if needed.. But yesterday August 13th, 2021 I decided to go to the SPCA animal shelter I like to donate at times .. but I found a kitty named Oval.. now she was too sweet not to take home .. So I did decide to adopt her.. as I sit here watching this video I didn't realize but kitty Oval sits next to me to watch it too.. so sweet love all your vids an thank you for reading my comments!! For my kitchen utensils I put all that I use more often in a utensil crock on the counter beside the stove. I hate countertop clutter too, but it’s just easiest! They’re right there for me to grab when I need. Everything else that I don’t use often stays in the drawer!
My son is 13 and I dust and vacuum his room still, he can do it for sure, but I enjoy it. He will be on his own before I know it so I love to clean and dust his room and do his laundry. Sometimes I ask him to put his clean clothes away but I enjoy it. I miss the toys all over the house and fingerprints on the doors and windows. Now he is 13 and I will take all I can get ❤️

I purchased some bamboo drawer dividers from amazon. They are spring loaded on one end. They worked out so much better in my kitchen drawers than the bins. You can adjust the width of the space much better and use the entire length or width of the drawer instead of the bins taking up real estate.
With drawers, just get drawer dividers. Then you get the organization but good use of space.
Good Morning! If you don’t mind some things on the countertop, maybe switch the knives you currently have on the counter for utensils. You can get drawer organizers for knives specifically, so they are stored safely. Then the utensils can go on the countertop, especially the ones you use everyday. I use a pretty vase to hold mine. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe try sunflower butter? Mixed with a little honey especially and it’s the most similar to PB! And most people with nut allergies don’t have an issue with sunflower seeds!

I used to be so anti playdoh/kinetic sand but it lasts 2 days before I have to throw it away🤣 so it's not a big deal anymore but we dont do slime at all!

Hi Joanna! I think the utensil drawer looks great! If you wanted to put them in a holder, if you got a nice one to match your decor the utensils themselves are actually quite pretty so I'm sure it would look nice! ❤️
Oh yes that happened in our living room chipped must be same type I bought a marker dark brown for furniture, floors worked out good literally mdf with special coating yep and if you wash floors have in hallway too.. You have to puff and if water left on it raises up the wood ahh

Yes we use our air fryer almost everyday. I didn’t want it at first. I said we don’t need that. My husband went and bought and I fell in love lol. It makes cooking dinner a lot easier for me.
Love this video! Just want to let you know that I think you have the best balance of voice over and letting the music play. Also, for kitchen utensils... I also dislike things on my counter but I do have one small cream colored container on the counter that I use for spoons that I pull out all the time for cooking. Everything else lives in the drawer and that helps to contain the cluttered feel in the drawer.

Sorry to see that happen to your floors. We just did bamboo floors this summer and I researched that the vacuum brushes are too harsh. I had to get a microfiber brush head for the Hoover stick like yours. 🤷🏻♀️

You are the best mom! I wish I could have been more easy going when I was younger. I didn't really catch on until my kids were teenagers. That's the time when you see how much is not in your control. Of course kids need boundaries, but they need to be allowed to be themselves. You're smart to catch on early.

Excellent motivation in this video! I got my cleaning done with you. As for the question of your utensil drawer: I have a decorative container on the counter for the utensils I use the most and then the ones less used I keep in a drawer. That way it’s not too cluttered on the counter.
I need to get boxes like that for my girls. Right now I have everything just in one big box LOL! Those rocking chairs are so cute. Great video
