- So I had to choose a new game to play and there was the option of Diablo 4 or Path of Exile. I chose path of exile because it was free, keep in mind I'm playing on xbox one s which may be Why the graphics aren't optimized. So far I like it, there's a lot to learn but I was very impressed with the skill tree.

You aren't wrong.
Being able to search text on the skill Tree is a super helpful feature. For instance, if your character is based on doing fire damage, you can search skills that just deal with fire damage and try to unlock those skills on the tree.

I’ll list several helpful points here for you, thanks for being so involved in the comments:
1-As everyone said this is the Passive Tree, not a Skill tree. It encompasses every single class start position, so it’s impossible to use all of them. You’re not supposed to. The game is balanced around the maximum 140ish points you can get, and it’s up to your gear+tree to make an effective build. It’s complicated and basically impossible to make a good build yourself without years of practice, which is why 95% of people follow build guides. Being honest, you already sorta messed up by going down both sides of the start of your tree rather than focusing a path down just 1 side.
2-As you’ve probably seen, your active skills come from Gem items, which slot into any item, weapon or armor, to give you that skill. Support gems also, which need to have a link or a link between them and the active gem. It’s ok for other gems to be in between, as long as you can draw an uninterrupted line between them. What supports you use is very important.
3-Gear. Maximum life and elemental resists (capping 75%) is very important. Weapons, for non-spell users, is also important. For those, check the base values of the damage and attack speed at the top of the weapon, which the mods below it affect
4-Personal opinion: console Poe is a strictly worse game compared to Poe on pc, so if you have any sort of PC, play Poe on that, you’ll thank me years/months later once you realize why. You’ll need even a crappy pc anyways to run an important 3rd party program for builds creation, and for using the trade website outside of the game.
Thanks for the tips, I actually haven't played much more of this game since this video was posted. Since it's still getting such a good response I'll be doing some more livestreams of the game this week. I would love to play on pc most of the time but I need to upgrade my rig since my pc would be overloaded trying to play and stream at the same time, so I usually stream console games.

they are all dividied into their respective character/classes tho, you can missmatch but im ranger and i mostly put points into the bottom right.

But if you are playing still you should know u can twist the skill tree with unique jewels depending on your liking.
I did not know that, I'm going to get back into it and make a strong character just before POE 2 comes out then I'll give that a try.
Thats a passive tree not skill tree.
The graphics aren't good because a) it's an old game (a competitor to the then controversial Diablo 3, designed to be more faithful to the original Diablo 2 design philosophy), and b) you're not playing the real (PC) version of the game. I have never seen the console version, and holy... the UI looks shockingly awful. Even in beta, the game didn't look that bad on PC. PoE 2 will have graphics more similar to D4, but once you get into the endgame, the difference will be hardly noticeable anyway.
This is on xbox one, it actually looks a lot better on ps5 and of course the pc version is usually the best, I have a good laptop but I'm usually using it to host the stream and then I play on console. At some point I will build a gaming pc for the channel but I'm still trying to build the channel up so one thing at a time.
@@jameydengineer Understandable. I'm not trying to diss on you or anything, just that the GUI/HUD in this version of the game is absolutely hideous.
This was my first time seeing it, and I was shocked how it looked like a cheap mobile game.

D4 is, at it's essence, corporate avariciousness from Activision disguised as AAA dev hubris from Blizzard. Freedom isn't free, but at least it's part of the program in POE.
That's true, just look at Overwatch 2 where they did the exact same thing, they've ruined 2 hit game series in a single year. They've been going downhill ever since the Diablo immortal announcement.

I have a good laptop but I mostly use it for streaming and editing, it would definitely look a lot better than console though. I need to build a proper gaming pc at some point.

Convenience in my case but yeah it apparently looks way better on pc, but that's the case with most games.

You will NEVER fill the Skill Tree, because you're not supposed to. By the time you reach max level (100) you'll have used about 15% or so of the entire Tree.
The reason for such a big Tree is that it is SHARED by all classes and for flexibility. Every class can play any build, the only difference is WHERE those classes start on the Passive Skill Tree (some start near the Intellect/Minions/Spell Damage passives... some start near the Bow passives... and some near the "Tank"/Melee passives). The only problem is that you'll have to "waste" a few passive points at first, but as soon as you've made your way to the part of the Tree that you want (or that your guide tells you to take), you're free to do whatever you want.
That kind of sucks you can only fill about 15%, The tree clearly branches off and there are a bunch of ways you could go with a build, I've only played a few hours at this point.

@@jameydengineer Filling 100% would actually hurt your build, to be honest. There are some passives on the tree that can actively hurt builds (but you're expected to build around them). For example, Chaos Inoculation sets your maximum life to 1 but makes you immune to chaos (poison) damage.
@@jameydengineer Yeah but is there any ARPG that allows you to fill your tree? I am 99% sure there isn't, not even diablo lets you fill your whole skill tree...
The skill tree doesn't seem as daunting when you realise that different classes start at different sections of the tree. Different sides of the tree relate to different classes better than others. Fantastic game. Have fun man
because its not skill tree. there is no skills. Its passive tree. These are very different things.

Yes it was explained to me that you choose a path and stick to it rather than treating it like a skill tree, thanks for checking out the video.
You are not supposed yo fill the entire tree, each class has a starting point, and you start your path, taking what suits your play style.
But this is just the very basic skill tree. There are more at the end game.

yeh the crafting will be more interesting…. but just take times and a few leagues to try out… it’s good there’s so much variety and … if it’s too much u can always farm for trade instead.. until you feel like crafting in another league. still better than d4. since, in this way… there ain’t trade nor crafting variesties option to choose in d4. ❤

I actually can't forget about POE because for some reason youtube gives this clip a few hundred views a day and it's my most viewed video by a lot. Also it's a pretty good game, I did some livestreams playing POE recently and I'm planning on doing more and playing POE 2 when it comes out in November.

GOD I HATE THE CAMERA IN POE. It seems like such a fun game but I just cant get past the tilt of the camera, its just to much.

It sure is but apparently you're supposed to pick a path and follow it if you want your character to really get OP, which I didn't know when I first played.
Literally the first thing I thought.
I tried to get into PoE years ago, but couldn’t get past the fact that your inventory can only hold like six and a half items that you have to Tetris in there.
Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the hell (no pun intended) out of Diablo 4, just as I did the previous three.
To each their own, though.
