Restoration of a 1978 Dodge Aspen R/T - Part 3

Cleaning up, inspecting and running the numbers on my R/T. Is it an E58 Police Interceptor engine?? Also a POR15 tutorial.

Do this car has the pretty rare top engine option. Glad you’re restoring this car because it deserves a stock restoration except bypass the shitty power choking lean burn, and install long tube headers with cat delete and true dual exhaust

I have a 79 R/T with the E58 dual snorkel 4bbl thermoquad and a 727 torqueflite 3 speed auto with the factory sure grip 8 1/4 dual exhaust. It has a sway bar on the rear axel it connects to the lower shock plates.

Look above the tank or behind the rear seat for the build sheet. Since it was only on the road for ten years most likely it there. It will tell you what all came with. Makes since they was swapping parts. I'd beat the fender onvthe roller is off that car,as well. I'd a switched them for sure being the same color an stripes

If it has posi both wheels will turn the same direction. Throw it in neutral and spin one wheel.

Why would a 1978 Dodge Aspen R/T have a 360 engine police interceptor the Police interceptor would be on the 4 doors, unless it was a Special Order that Aspen R/T would have side louvers, a rear window louver and a T top package if I am not mistaken.

So the vacuum diagram shows single snorkel air cleaner on that engine. I'm going to guess that dual snorkel came from a police car not an Aspen.
