I just really love how close to reality ur med school vlogs are. Nowadays kasi, people on social media are really romanticizing med or any allied health courses a lot without knowing WHAT REALLY HAPPENS BEHIND THE AESTHETIC OR EXCITEMENT. I totally agree with u na kapag nasa health related yung course, nababago yung buhay, priorities, and goals completely. U r spending less time outside and more in front of ur desk. Nababago yung definition nung fun. Tapos it is not always about how aesthetic it looks and how inspired u are kasi most of time u'll really find urself crying kasi ang hirap intindihin ng lectures and parang di mo talaga maintindihan, dami breakdowns especially ngayon na online with no real patient interaction and the struggle with lab courses like paano gagawin yung isang procedure sa bahay lang without the equipments so macchallenge talaga. Then ofc, magkakaroon na ng self-doubt but at the end of the day, lumalaban parin kasi gusto natin ginagawa natin kahit sobrang hirap niya talaga. Kaya it really breaks my heart to read the news and how our healthcare workers are being treated rn :((

I assure you that it gets better as you progress through your med journey. When you're left all alone to deal with emergencies and referrals, with the proper training and knowledge, there will come a time that you will surprise yourself because you will be capable to pull through, make the correct assessment and treatment. The best feeling is when the patient gets better and that's when you realize that you're made for this moment and God put you in that situation because He knows you are the perfect person for the job. The best part is, these moments don't happen only once, but again and again, constantly reassuring you that you're in the right path and trying to remove all the self-doubt that Impostor Syndrome always brings. Hang on, young doctor. It will get better and I hope you stay long enough to experience those wonderful moments in the future.

On her early part of medical schooling, she wants to be a Pediatrician like me but as you progress onto clerkship especially if you’re on your internship rotation your prerogative changes primarily it’s because you’re being exposed to different rotations of Medicine and several factors will change your decision on what specialty you’re going to push thru 😉
