    Still rocking my original Ape Labs Mini 1.0 Tourpack. They've been a lifesaver for gigs with minimal setup time and outdoor events with no outlets. The W-APP seemed like an expensive purchase at the time. But without paying any extra, it's turned out to be a good investment by keeping my other Ape units updated and now it's practically a standalone controller for all my other non-Ape DMX gear!

    Ive owned 12 Ape Labs Maxi 1.0 for 2 years now and just bought 12 more of the Maxi 2.0s. I can't even explain how simple it is to set these up and let them do there thing! MusikMode is unparalleled and I also use them with soundswitch seamlessly. I highly recommend these lights if they're within your budget!! They are worth every penny!!

    I have twelve 2.0 cremes and absolutely love them. Also two 2.0 XL sticks. Will be paid off soon!

    I've used $100-ish headphones for most of my career, but finally bought a pair of Pioneer X10s in 2020 and I don't think I'll ever go back. At 3.5x the price, I struggled to justify it for a long time, but now I get the appeal of a premium headphone setup

      Before I switched to IEMs those were my absolute favourites! So solid and reliable, and great sound too.

    I would never cut corners when it comes to sound quality. Yes, lighting is also fun & important and I have the Maxi 2.0 tourpack too (and I am really enjoying those lights!), but since music is the CORE element of what we do as DJs, the thing I care most about is sound quality. To answer your last question: My KV2 speakers and my Xone 96 mixer would be definitely things I am not willing to give up easily to go with a best-bang-for-buck solution instead. It's such a joy to use them and it's such a shame the 96 never got Serato certified :(

    I’ve been using Chauvet Quad 4IP and Hex 4’s but I’m now going to buy these.
    I think Chauvet’s new mood lights are a step back not forward with lower battery life than previously, thus my change to Ape Labs.

    if they had a model under that was cheaper I would get em. Rockville is killing the game with their pricing right now

      Aka Bothlighting

  • @leesinthemix
    @leesinthemix ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ape Labs Maxi V2 Tour Pack (SIX) - £2,200-£2,500
    Both Lighting RF-4 with charging flight case (EIGHT) - £600-700
    The RF-4s also have a 25° beam angle and aren't sand boxed into a proprietary wireless system.
    It's not even a contest for mobile DJs with a budget.

    Premium Products for me are my controller, laptop and mics. New to Lighting so now looking at what options make sense. I imagine having at least 12 of these up lights makes sense or does 6 give a decent room effect?

    Holy shit $3800 for 6 of them with flight case and wifi box etc.....🙄smdh, maybe if I dj'd for a living but not for a couple weddings a year and some bratty teenage birthday parties no way. They are very nice and impressive though. Maybe in my next life 😂

    Why are LED uplights soooooo expensive when LED tech is usually super cheap? Shouldn't we be seeing $30 per light out of China by now?

    • @JamesFromCanada
      @JamesFromCanada ปีที่แล้ว

      Engineering, R&D, made in Germany, warranty, DMX, etc.
      I have a $45 sound-reactive battery powered LED light (from EuroLight, Made in China) and it's nowhere close to one of these.
      Mine is made of plastic, the lighting isn't so strong, battery gets about 4hrs per charge, doesn't have wireless DMX, generic sound-reactive shoe etc.
      The Ape Light is built SO damn good, has exceptional battery, great lighting strength, wireless DMX, beautiful wireless sound-show, etc
      You get what you pay for. You pay for not having warranty, a weaker product, poorer results, etc.
      As a mobile DJ type lighting is HUGE to any party, and its better to not skimp out like you wouldn't on a deck or speakers

      @@JamesFromCanada I have Both Lighting uplighers from China. They're 1/4 the price of these. The colour mixing capability and lumens output is EXACTLY the same.
      It doesn't matter how nice and sturdy the body looks, if you're still using the same LED engines as everyone else.
      Check out the Green/Red colour mixing in this video. It's the same as every single wireless uplight or LED par can out there.
      With Ape Light you're paying for the brand and their app (which is pointless) for most mobile DJs who use DMX with their other fixtures.

    $500 for a freaking uplight? You got to be kidding me!
    This company is like Harley Davidson. They have a nice product, but charge an exorbitant amount for it.
    It simply is not worth the money.
    As soon as another company duplicates them, they will be toast if they don't lower their prices.
    Don't believe me ...just watch😂😂😂
