One of these days Jake will start the video with "Hi everyone, Jake here from all miniatures great and small!" and it will throw everyone for a loop lol
Yes, yes, yes and YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES !!! please make some more Black Seas vids ... and Desert IIWW (midwar) ;-)) many many thanks for showing and please keep up the good work
Great stuff. The same does benefit from a little house ruling especially the 3inch grapple range being knocked down to 1 and the rudder hit being modified by a skill check.
Nice video, good game. I am a fan of your Team Yankee, Black Seas and Aeronautica Imperialis game play videos. Also looking forward to Epic Civil War videos. I purchased Black Seas, Aeronautica Imperialis and Epic Civil War based on your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for doing this... I'm going to try my first tabletop game this coming weekend. I picked a naval game so I didn't have to deal with 500 minis'. I hope the club I found has this game in their stock.
oooh, I just finished building my USS Essex. Hopefully going to get the big US fleet bundle around christmas time. Thanks for the batrep, I've been looking for black seas content recently!
You forgot that point blank shots also double the damage and raking shots add additional dmg. For example 21:33 would have been 23dmg not 9. 2*9 + 5hits in front add 5dmg
I JUST discovered this game in a store the other day and immediately went to TH-cam and found your channel. I've watched 3 videos to see how smooth the gameplay is. I like the game and want it but I can already see it needs a TON of changes to be what is, in my opinion, more realistic and more fun. I don't like the critical hit system at all. I could go on and on and would love to bounce ideas around with anyone who wants to.
Hi Guys. Thanks for this, Entertaining games. Beautifully modelled ships. I like Black seas models, but I’m a bit on the fence with Black seas as rules, partly because of some of the criticisms you’ve aired. It’s ok , but I think I prefer Kiss me hardy, from the Too fat ladies. For information I recommend JJ’s Wargames blog because it’s just encyclopaedic for this era and beautifully done, so check it out, He’s a fellow Brit who has done every ship for Trafalgar, ( beautifully, including rigging tutorials, because British rigging was different) and many of the US ships for 1812. His bases are nice too and avoid the clashing and potential damage to the models. He also produces good background material and scenarios. How does he find the time? ( he is also doing a Black seas Trafalgar game at Warlord Games HQ on the 23rd October to commemorate the battle). Keep up the good work. Best Ray

Thanks! American Civil War is slowly inching ahead.
Thanks for doing this...

So, 9 months later, how has your luck been getting into table top gaming?
Great job!! What kind of bases. ??? Clear ??
Thank y’all

Thanks! It's a fun game but honestly it really easy to house rule stuff to make it a better game.
15:20 - There is a 9, just so ya know.

I've never read the other rules for this period. I am enjoying Black Seas and to be honest we've never played a game of it was wasn't entertaining.
IS that the deep cut studio waterworld mat?
I'm really early for a long video great looking miniatures
loven the battles
Where did yinz get the plastic bases?
I think I ordered them from Litko. Custom sized but I can't remember what sizes I ordered.
is it "Old Ironsides"? or is it the Constellation?
Old Ironsides is a nickname for the USS Constitution.
Great battle report - the ship models themselves have kept me from buying into this game!
Does USS not stand for United States Ship? So the one ship is essentially named the United States United States?
No, it would be United States Ship United States. :-)
The USS Constitution the greatest warship ever? Have you ever heard of H.M.S. Warspite sir :)
During a battle you will have to forgive some hyperbole :-) Though I would consider the USS Enterprise CV-6 to be the GOAT.
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall lol true :)
Still in service after 220 years....what's the warspite doing now....n what navy did it defeat the Italians....lol
The rules say you can't be at full sails if the wind is not behind you.
Not bad the ships r sails of glory quality from sprews.....
Also I would recommend the oak n iiron map which puts this one to shame
This game doesn't seem to give a great game when there is a large difference in ship quality.
