- For almost forty years, family-run Anajak Thai has kept their lights on by serving thousands of the pad thais and green coconut curries that most Americans know to be Thai fare. But there's a specialty dish from the Nakhon region in Southern Thailand that’s gotten the menu’s top marks, and that’s simply their crunchy, juicy Thai-style fried chicken. Sprinkled with shallots and served alongside sticky rice and sweet, spicy chili sauces, Anajak’s piping-hot crispy-skinned chicken brings us in for a closer look at what makes this dish such a fan favorite.

Crunchy, Juicy Thai Fried Chicken Is Made By This Family-Owned Restaurant | Fam To Table
That crunch sound tells everything 🤤
Was thinking the same damn thing 🤤
Yes I want some
I want some but I’m all the way from Australia
🐔🐔🐔
That sound was enough to sell
I like this host. More of her. She's not just tasting the food, she's "eating" the food. 🤙🏾
i mean apart from all the chicken she left on each piece lol
@@leaa1243 I'm sure she polished off the rest when she was off camera lol. She had to show a little restraint 😉
She also is very articulate and well spoken compared to other hosts and she still has a fun energy to her. Really lovely!
And she doesn’t look like there’s always a gun aiming at her from behind the camera
agreed; her analysis of the taste, textures and smells of the food isn't superficial. Unlike that constantly distracting and seemingly fake "eye-bulging" by Skyler B.
The love in that family comes through so clearly in this video. Seems like a wonderful restaurant in more ways than one, definitely a stop I will make when I go to LA!
Same here when it's safe to travel again.
This host is way better than the other ones

In Thailand, we called it Kaitod Hatyai(Hatyai fried chicken). It is a very famous dish in Hatyai,Songkla province in southern Thailand.
Ooooooohhhhh Thank you for providing the name of the dish. I'm trying to find the exact recipe
@@Harry4Potterfan watch Mark weins, he ate thai fried chicken in hat yai
hmoobmeeka I love Mark. I watch him all the time. I’ll have to check it out today. I also found the recipe on TH-cam for Hatyai Fried Chicken. I’m definitely going to try making it
As a Thai it's flourless crispy fried chicken it is very famous to eat with sticky rice and the taste is a bit salty but delicious.
this + glutinous rice = heaven
The son is amazing and so well spoken. I just loved how he described Thai cuisine being a mix between comfort and adventure! Will check this place out forsure :D
I taught English in Thailand in 2013-14 literally in the very town this lady in from, Nakhon si Thammarat. My school mentor used to stop and get this for me for breakfast in the morning once a week and I swear it’s exactly like this in real Thailand. Absolutely delicious, a popular Thai breakfast from the side of the road street food. You’re so lucky to have this on your doorstep, LA!
That crunch made me instantly drool
I love his relationship with his family. You can tell there is lots of love there.
So special to have his dad be able to see his son take the reins of the family business. Well done! ❤️ 😊
That crunch PURIFIES MY SOUL.
Crystal Lee is a good host for this segment. Please bring her back.
God help their family with the tragedy of the father having a stroke.
Thai and Vietnamese, especially the south Vietnam have some of the delicious dishes. They represent the typical southeast asian palate..sweet, salty, sour, and texture. They use a lot of garlic, onions, gingers, lime, vinegar, and fish sauce mainly for the marination.
Vietfocus I mean all of asean tbh
I’m part Vietnamese and my grandma is very Vietnamese and she cooks all the time for me a lot every time I visit her. She has amazing food and my favorite food is phó and her phó is sooo goood. But yeah I love Asian food.
@@thatsabruhmoment6999 Don't you love having grand parents know how to make different kinds of food. Food is universal. I think it is a blessing to get to eat different cuisines around the world.
@@emilychareontong3803 Maybe you are right. Food in the same region bound to have similar dishes.
south of Thailand is near Malaysia
As a LA foodie guy who lives only a mile from this restaurant, i can say that this spot is legit for their fried chicken, if nothing else. Go get this fried chicken today! You'll thank me later 🙂
Please order one and eat it for me!
I cant,I literally live on the opposite part of the map.
Do feature them on your next vlog. Looking forward for it 😺
I live in Saudi Arabia 🙂👍
I live in the UAE
Nice video but I'm in tears, I cant believe what I see, I felt like I see myself from the past, it's because of that story we share pretty much similar story. My grandparents own a local restaurant back home and My Parents was the 2nd generation, my dad got stroke and passed away in 2007 but he used to sat in the wheel chair like this restaurant owner, back in 2015 my mom got stroke too and she pass the restaurant to my only brother. Restaurant business is very very tough especially family owned. I've been there done that, so hard! Wish the best for this family! God Bless y'all!
That is an excellent and dutiful son.
@Delicious Tacos parents who raise their kids well will get what they reaped. A good child
Ikr? I was amazed. Almost every child I know around my age would dip the moment they turn 18. Glad to see his loyalty towards his family's business. Truly respectable.
She’s my favorite insider host!
Sometimes I love to eat flourless crispy fried chicken , As a Thai it's delicious to eat with sticky rice. That dish called Kaitod Hatyai in Thailand.
This is phenomenal Thai food is hands down one of the mentors of the definition of “UMAMI” sweet salty sour and spicy your the man my friend my heart feels for you loving the food world and stepping into the diagram of one of the hardest jobs and having the master keeping his eye on you can be a heap of pressure but ur family is very blessed having you around may your father have a miraculous recovery prayers for him🙏🏻❤️💛
I just fell in love with this family! They seem so sweet and kind ❤️
The most wholesome host I've seen in a while. Would love to see her on more content.
I'd tell a fun little poultry pun..
But I'd hate to get *fried.*
Bruh
Wait a minute...
e
Fried? That's a weird word to use... I think the word you were looking for is "roasted".
7/10 bait
That crunch is amazing ASMR ❤️ I started drooling 🤤🤤😋😋
I've been there a handful of times and my friend has known the owner for over 30 years. Have two friends that come from Boston every so often and that is definitely one of their first stops when they're out here. The parents are so awsome the treat you like family everytime you walk thru the door son is also is really nice!
Justin is doing an amazing job!
It is lovely to see the relationship between him and his parents.
There is love respect and a whole lot of support for each other. 👍❤️
i read the title as "LA's creepiest Thai fried chicken"
A poor wording choice.
Dead
samee skdnajd
I'd still eat it. I'm a rockstar eater!
@@RockstarEater No, you are just another generic, formulaic, boring "tuber" doing a food channel and using other channels to garner interest in your shake and bake channel.
Omg that crunch sound is golden
I love the way he laughs
So loud that everyone wants to be his friend
Thai food is the freshest tasting, most creative of all the good Asian cuisines that I've had.
This guy has a great descipline towards his work
This man is an honour to his family. Well done pii, well done.
Family owned restaurants are the best those recipes are authentic with a twist that will satisfy anyone
I love Thai food. Brings memories of my trips to Thailand where delicious food are everywhere from hawkers to 5 star hotels. Take me back .... 😭💗🙏
Food looks amazing! Great parenting. Raised a very good son. Will definitely visit.
What amazing food and what an amazing son. I wish the best for you all!!
This is the kind of son that any mom and dad would be super proud to have. Great person and wonderful son.
Justin is so well spoken. He's lovely son taking care of his family. huhu i want that crispness of Fried Chicken.

Love how humble you and your family 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗 the fried chicken looks delicious 😋 Thank you !
You are truly blessed with such Loving parents ❤️
My father isn't a big teacher but I learned everything I know about cooking by watching him. Mad respect for the son coming in and taking care of business. 🙏
The secret to having a better crunch than this is,...... burn it
Yes
Technically yes, we burn the hell out of our fried chicken, but the chicken’s still the juicier than your life will ever be
Tadtathep Thepboriruck why u so toxic bruh?

Wish I lived in LA just to taste this
The crunchiness never lie it really sure delicious! I like the host she is natural and not annoying sound.
I can vouch for Anajak. I moved to Van Nuys 4 yrs ago and one of the first things I tried was the fried chicken. Hands down best Thai fried chicken I’ve ever had
It's amazing the satisfaction one can get watching other people eating food that one will never be able to...🤣
This style of chicken is already good, but when I visited southern Thailand to eat the best restaurant that sell this style of chicken. Good Lord, it is even better.
I love Thai food .... they are just awesome 😍😍😍
LUV this Host, not annoying
I'm salivating over that crunch!
Love the family owned aspect of it. Plus the host is yummier than the food.
loving this establishment, family oriented business and of course loving the host who knows how to eat. nice!
It’s crispy but flavorless without the limited sauce provided. You should chicken out Luv2Thai in Hollywood instead.
Thai food is comfort and adventure.
The chicken looks amazing
I think Thai foods taste the best in this world, they know how to blend spices & lime. I’m not even Thai, so no bias.
YES - this host!!! More of her please. So much better than herrine or whatever her name is
Oh man! Now that is some mouth watering food🍗🍗🍖🍗🍗
What a great son! Keeping, improving the family legacy!
Wow definitely a must try. Seems like a Beautiful family. Will be passing by LA and will make a stop there .
The mom and dad are so adorable!!!!!
The food is not boring, looks delicious!🤙
is it just me or is this guy's voice hella soothing
Kaitod Hatyai ( Hatyai fried chicken), you can find it in Thailand everywhere especially in the flea market. It’s very cheap and have different parts of the chicken as well. Also, it is originated in Hatyai province, Songkla city which is located in Southern Thailand. So if you want to eat an authentic taste of this chicken, I would suggest you to go to Hatyai once in a lifetime to try this out .
What an amazing son!!!
Wow, how crunchy.... I would like to have those fries. I'm getting bored with kimchi
Too bad they don't do delivery to North Korea😂
@@Wong_Wei lmao
Props to their son. He may not even want to do this, who knows, but they definitely raised an amazing child.

Remarkable
I need to try this, next time in LA!
When his mother said: 'these are usually sold out before he has one'
Confirmed. This some good shit
Fired Chicken is very famous and normal dish in Thailand and you can find it in every corners, they have their own recipe mostly are delicious because if not good enough no customer coming to you.

@Raymond Cunningham I do
Ok
Idk why I love the family and their vibes ❤️
I eat there before! Though I didn’t know they were famous for their wings lol. They serve SUPER spicy food though
Wow so crispy😋
This resonates deeply within me. As a first-gen Thai-American that grew up in the family restaurant as well, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to fill the intimidating pair of shoes my parents have set for me.

Her voice is really enthusiastic
"No one is higher than the sweet sauce." That confidence comes from crushing 10s of thousands of willpowers everywhere
I fell in love with this mysteriously beautiful lady who is commenting this chicken by watching bite into that chicken like a valkyrie ... Omg..
One day I will come from India to get this crunchy chicken in my mouth
BTW great food
In Malaysia, we called the dish, ‘Pulut Ayam’ - literally means sticky rice and fried chicken.
Really want to visit. It's so hard to find a Thai restaurant that really make you feel like you're in Thailand. Most only serve the curry, Pad Thai, fried rice, and a few more. But none had make me miss my homeland like this one. And i haven't taste it yet.
That's gorgeous Hatyai fried chicken!
Yummy! Who's craving for some fried chicken now?
Chicken looks phenomenal and Crystal is a fun host. Definitely want to see more of her.
that crunch is mmmmmmmm
