What an honor it would be for you to build a home. I'm always fascinated by your skills and knowledge. I hope your clients appreciate that their home was built by a master carpenter.
I find Shoyan's videos to be so relaxing to watch. Well produced and not distracting from his effortless carpentry. Thank you for putting your craftsmanship up on the web.
The company I work for has a Skil branded one. It’s called a supersawsquatch not to be confused with the standard “sawsquatch” which is smaller. The thing is a little freaky to run because, if it kicks back, you’re looking at a saw that can literally cut you in half lol
I love this. Im a carpenter and want to watch the artful and beautiful way you make roof systems the Japanese way. Curved lines,so iconic and gorgeous. I will look for your roof framing videos.
More beautiful work, always impressed by superior hammer work. It just takes one misplaced blow to ruin the appearance of a project and to watch your confidant, rapid hammering is a pleasure. Thank you 🙇♂️ I've found the round headed nails difficult to drive without suffering a glancing blow or two.
Young man pay attention to this Master. The knowledge he will pass on will be with you for the rest of your life. Thank you for introducing us to his work. Gratitude from the USA. Gorgeous wood Japanese Cypress
Nice video. Well explained and shown! I've been following you for a while and also look at the older videos. Think it's great how your electrical machines and your manual work bring different things to your work. I have a question. At min. 07:30 where you use the pull and chop saw. There the short board lies with one side on the saw table and the other side of the board lies on a height-adjustable part (which pulls out like a "car jack"). What is the name of the ad part? Thank you in advance. Have a nice weekend. Greetings from Germany
@@ShawnWitty you are correct, but I wasn’t referencing to what he was using. I was just making a point about a particular Japanese wood that I was thinking about.
I would love to watch the Japanese version of your videos. Can you post a link to the channel in your English version channel please. Thank you for your videos
I love your content and even though my work and videos are about smaller items, I'm a woodworker also and learn a lot watching your content...thank you. A QUESTION: What are the subtle differences between a "nureen" and a deck? Thanks you. /bow
Excellent Craftsmanship! US Carpenters are not as skillful. Joinery is rarely used on anything other than fine furniture. You are a true Master of your Craft. Thank you.
@@ShawnWitty 100% agree but its him and his skills is what I am willing to pay for. of course I do not have that kind of money, but to see how he works and the skills he would bring to on building me a house, would be amazing.
Good job with the rubber shims! The water drains this time better than the other nure-en 😁.
Hands down one of the best carpenters ive ever seen.
Check out Frank Howarth and Mr Chikadee. Carl Rogers also.
Frank Howarth the CNC operator? No contest.
Shoyan has an impressive set of specialized power tools that would make any timber framer envious.
What an honor it would be for you to build a home. I'm always fascinated by your skills and knowledge. I hope your clients appreciate that their home was built by a master carpenter.
I love the ease in which you work. No drama, just getting it done in absolute masterclass fashion. Thank you for sharing
What I would give to help and learn from this Master Carpenter. Beautifully simple and clean.
The homeowners are truly blessed to have such beautiful work done.
Beautiful work as always, quite the best I have seen in my 82 year life. I could NEVER tire of watching you work. Cheers, Don from South Aust.
Thank you for inviting us into your world. Your craftsmanship is extraordinary.
Love the look of the round head stainless steel nails. They look like rivets.

"It's not necessary to use a complicated joint." I dunno...a hidden, hand-cut dovetail seems pretty complicated to me. I love it!
I was thinking the same lol
A simple joint to me would be a butt joint with a screw coming in diagonally from each side 😂
By gaining a lot of experience in Japan, foreign carpenters can reach the same level.
However, you also need innate talent.
That's a mortise and tenon not a dovetail unless I'm high.
@@zhugeliang777the mortise and tenons are the posts with the black plastic feet. The dovetail was to join 2 pieces to make the longest stretches.
he handled the saw like it's so light
Beautiful work; simple but beautiful. Darlington, South Carolina USA
Amazing work, Shoyan. I've learned something new, every episode
That massive circular saw is awesome! I have to get one!

@@UnbreakableIcePick Pretty sure Makita also makes one. Don't know the model number though. They seem quite unsafe in my eyes XD
I was impressed by the four blades saw.
@@Hour882Die the saw to cut the tenons, yeah that is nice. How much time you save with a single pull.
It is always nice to see an older master at work..beautiful
I'm quite jealous of Shoyan's timber framing saw.
Sir, I worry about ears with all this machinery, no ear protection! Great work, thank you!

Japanese wood is so pliable it makes woodworking easy
@@ShawnWitty soft and easy to work with when planing, chiseling, or cutting. Japanese cedar is really nice to work with.

Great stuff by the way 👍
Thanks
Top Notch Stuff
The adjustable rest used next to the mortice saw around 7:30 - what is that called in Japanese? Thanks
Amazing work what else can I say
The esthetic of this last creation is very impressive !!
very good job!!!💪💪
beautiful!
Would water get into the wood joint if you would glue it?
Hey 👋. 💪
In the US, First machine is called a jointer not a planer, the second machine was a planer
What kind of paint do you use to finish the wood?
Can you fix stuff to Hebel?
why are the front posts so far from the front edge of the concrete? it could easily be a foot and a half wider.

i thought Japan uses the metric system but it seems, all measurements are done in imperial? is this out of tradition or?

Comment for algo
Either your tools are 10x sharper and 10x more powerful than mine, or Japanese wood is SOFT compared to what we use in the USA.
I believe it’s a type of pine so yeah, wayyyy softer than what we use in the US
Harder woods cut easier actually.Tools must be very sharp. Cleaner edges, more precise.
This is Japanese cypress...harder than pine.
@@ShawnWitty I'm an electrical engineer. And you are unnecessarily rude. I highly doubt your credentials just because of your ignorant attitude.
