The Colt AR15-A4 is an exact clone of the M16-A4, except being semi-auto (of course). This rifle is as close as you can get to owning the mil-spec Marine version of the M16-A4, without committing a felony. These Colt rifles can be damn hard to find, and the few that are released are sold within days. The build, accuracy, and quality of the rifle are outstanding. The full 20" barrel is a nice feature. Yes, the old school mil-spec iron sights do take some getting used to. While the AR15-A4 is clearly a niche market, there is a strong demand for these classic retro, or throwback, rifles. It's really too bad Colt does not make more of these rifles. If you get the chance, spend the $1,000 bucks and get one.

Zach Zach - You are really lucky and trust me, those on Bud's Gun Shop will be gone quickly. A local Colt dealer where I live got two AR-15A4's, one in April and the other in May. Both rifles were sold in less than 48 hours after being placed on the rack. They were literally here today, gone tomorrow. If you would offered $1060 for one of these rifles, the gun shop owner would of laughed at you. Both sold at over $100 bucks over full MSRP. I am not saying I agree with what happened at all, but that is the truth and what did happen. It's all comes down to simple supply and demand that sets the price.

I have one arriving Thursday from Mr. Gun Dealer in Michigan. I'll be adding it to my FN Collectors series A4

Wish I'd watched this before I went to Toreros tonight. Saw you there and would've told you. I just asked some of the people that I've done some builds and customizations for, to sell me all of the stock parts that I took off so I could build me some bare bones, rigid ARs. Guess I'm not the only one with this idea.

Why do the ar 15 s that are reviewed on TH-cam always sound much louder and echo more than the real military videos in Iraq or Afghanistan etc which just sound like a small pop ......?

Is it possible to convert the AR15A4 to 300 AAC Blackout? With the full 20 inch barrel

I bought one that did not come with an F marked front sight and it had scratches and dings around all of the pins. Wondering if Colt has got their shit together. Anybody bought one recently?

So if it has a rifle length gas system = retro now?

Seems like it doesn't it? Colt has some ads out there touting the "retro" feel of this gun but they've been producing it for some time now. Loved shooting it either way.
