@@notme2day Last time that happened we had pretty much "we promise to give up all of our leverage, compromise, and meet you half way" which lead to all of those problems as D's sat on their thumbs and going along with rules like can't appoint a justice in the last year of office unless an R is next to the name. Or "let's get rid of the single payer aspect before this even gets a vote in finance committee" with the ACA. Which turned a decent idea in to endorsing the problem while making it slightly less hostile to life.
I have the same hope but gosh darn is an extra dose needed to break through the expectation of a fumble. Any amount of endorsing "bipartisanship" with policy will inevitably result in a Republican worse than Trump within 4 years because the plan will be destined to mediocrity, poisoned by people we have to admit are enemies using the power of government to destroy itself, which makes people pendulum away with the "just try the other guy" effect that "centrists" falsely claim credit for attracting with their 50% less garbage than Republicans plans.

Thank you for asking! Contact your local office of the Democratic party! Even though I live in a GOP majority state, I found the democratic party well organized, very active, and highly motivated.
And yes, there is something for everyone to do, whether they realize it or not. I'm painfully shy and introverted, so not going out of my way to meet strangers. However, I have a covered truck, so the Dems put me to work hauling and storing campaign supplies. None of us can do it all, but each of us can do something.

We have been brutally traumatized by the Trump years and the fallout from the constant misinformation, fear, hatred, and divisiveness of his movement. We all feel cautious, but we are definitely feeling the hope! It. was stunning watching the joy erupting throughout the night at the DNC -and then seeing a video of a lackluster, depressing, dishonest Trump airing his grievances and disinformation and insults yesterday. Trump does not do campaigning, he does camPLAINING!

Joe Biden deserves some real credit for the current unity of the Democratic Party. Over the past several years, he has managed to work harmoniously with its various factions towards shared policy goals. In my view, he is one of the most underappreciated presidents we have ever had in the U.S. and deserves our gratitude for all he has accomplished and for putting country before ego.
Joe Biden makes the world's most difficult job look easy. In Washington politics, the more experienced a person is, and the better they do their job, the less obvious it is they're doing it. Things they want to happen just come about as if by magic.

Kudos to Colbert for asking the Israel/Gaza question more than once. He handled the protest very capably. But neither Jeffries nor Pelosi gave satisfying answers. They're sticking with a political line rather than saying what they personally feel. Somebody has to speak more forcibly about the tragedy that is Netanyahu as a leader in Israel. And we cannot continue to supply weapons and money if we're serious about a two state solution.
I wholeheartedly agree. It feels to me like they’re appeasing their biggest donor (AIPAC) until Harris/Walz win the election, and as many of the downballot races that are needed for a supermajority are won. Because they need that money to campaign in all the races, to win. Cynical as that may sound (and it’s only my opinion), that’s unfortunately how politics works.
Netanyahu must be stopped, and forced to the table for talks. Cut him off, and just give aid.
He is a thief and the Israeli public knows this. Once the peace is secured the Israelis have expressed their desire to get Bibi out of office.
