It is magical how you created such a rich and dynamic relationship between the seagull and the boy, and such an ominous yet enticing world that just pulls you in at the same time consistently pushing you out with its ominous and spine-shivering ambiance!!!! Fantastic job! ✨
Very over the garden wall kind of vibes!!
Thank you so much, that means a lot! When I set out to make the film, OTGW was exactly the kind of vibe I was going for. I wanted to make something kinda spooky, foggy, and with hints of humor to cut through the general uneasiness. Even my composer took inspiration from OTGW’s soundtrack - he did such an amazing job!
"A home without people...or person....is but empty minimal....too minimal even to be lively."
--- The Ghosts of all remnants ---
This was absolutely wonderful!! The animation was so lovely but also the voice acting is just incredible??? When the old woman says goodbye and you can hear the wet sadness in her voice,… and then gulls lines are all amazing. Just wow,!
Amazing! The color work is so beautiful and it feels just the right amount of somber. And whoever voiced Reginald did a great job, his somewhat raspy delivery gave an old wise man feel to the character! It's a shame this isn't more viewed!
Reginald’s VA (and all of my VAs for that matter) were such a pleasure to work with! I couldn’t be happier with them. Thank you so much for your sweet words!!
I love how ominous and creepy yet, comforting it all feels? Reminds me of over the garden wall. Great work
this is criminally underrated. characters were all rich, story was sharp and tense, payoff was great
This really had me on edge the whole time! Very ominous and great visuals + story!
Thank you so much Emily, that’s super sweet!!
"Ominisms." Excellent coinage there.
Ahh I love this so much!!!! The dandelion symbolysm and the way you create atmpshoeres through specific color choices and your artstyle and the 80s feels I’m in love!!! Also I’m not sure if it was intentional but the boy’s glasses being a little off sync makes it so. Dynamic in a way? I don’t rly know but!!! Oh my god!!!!!!! Amazing job
whats the symbolism of the dandelions?
Thank you so much!! Otto (the boy)’s glasses being a little off sync was a purposeful decision- Besides Reginald’s ability to talk, I wanted to introduce hints of magic into the world without having characters straight up casting spells or something. Glad you noticed! 😊
0:53 love that shot of the dandelions, probably my favorite
From the beginning, when the boy returns, he realizes that the boat he came with doesn't exist. Then he encounters an old woman who has no eyes and seems like a spirit. Later, when he places his bag down, he turns back and crushes a flower under his foot. Essentially, the film wants to convey that only relationships and love remain, along with colors. So here, the boy is a metaphor for humanity, ignorant humanity. The seabird is a metaphor for the human unconscious. However, the colors, environment, home, and boat symbolize the passing of time.
The trembling glasses are a metaphor for the hasty and superficial gaze of humanity that lacks depth. The creator essentially wants to convey that humans don't look attentively. The seabird, with its mature and wise voice, is intriguing. It serves as a metaphor for the unconscious mind, which is inherently knowledgeable.
Nice short which looks like a part of a big story.
the texture in the backgrounds is so delicious. also reggie expressions♥️ stellar work!!!!!
This is really good
What a nice madam, her soul didnt leave the home,,
Ohh very ominous. A real ghost town!
I'd love to hear more about this world!
omg i love this animation! its giving me over the garden wall vibes!
Wow, that's brilliant!
I m in love with the style, with colors, animation, with the story itself, Ominous SeaGul :D

Good luck with your future projects!!!
Wowo what just happened? That was scary and i love it !
Yo this was so good, what an amazing set up, the atmosphere you built was brilliant. It felt so uneasy and off and that seagull speaks wisdom that kid should heed. I really loved this, what a great story!
Великолепная работа!❤
This is so charming! I wish this was a series!
His glasses are so particular 😂
Ohh, that raised the hairs on my arms! Incredible film. Thank you for sharing!
Why this so underrated? This is much better than other Calarts who got thousands of views. This deserves better
To be fair, the other videos have been up for 2 weeks already compared to this recent upload
THIS IS AMAZING !!!!!! THE DESIGNS, THE CHARACTERS, THE STORY I LOVE IT !!!!!! ❤❤💞💞💞💞💕💕💕💕♥♥♥♥
THANK U CASS!!!💖💖💖💖💖

This looks absolutely amazing! Great job
The little guy reminds me of Conan! I love it!❤
THIS IS SO! COOL
THANK U JINOOOOO!!!!!!
Great story and great voice acting!
Очень интересный сюжет и очень красивый стиль! Браво!
The real path was to tend the loneliness of that elderly-woman, to watch the bank and inheritors defile and gut the house-history-&-passing of their forgotten relative. I hate to think my passing, passes my work on, to those related miscreants who would enjoy my inventions.
this was amazing bud, the character designs were great, backgrounds were great, story was interesting, hell the only thing that bugged me (but I respect the stylized attempt) were the glasses. So far one of my faves from the 2023 batch. Great stuff bud.
i luv this sm
It may be that the lady who appears in the short died alone, she said this since she told the child that he would take a while and when he came back there was no one there, also the phrase that he says at the end of the short refers to the fact that the lady died alone, this is just a theory Friday 1:28am 12/05/2023
YESSSS
Me senti imerso na história, muito bom.
this is very interesting i like it a lot i appreciate the dandelion tea
I love this so much. The style, the ambience, the story, the characters, the storytelling. My one criticism would be his glasses. I love the way you make them float with out any visible frames, I wouldn’t change that for the world. But if you really want to make it look good, you need them to move a bit more fluidly with his face. They feel very jittery as they are now, even while it feels like the rest of his face moves quite naturally and I found it quite distracting. Subscribed! Can’t wait to see what you do next!
Onde é feito estes vídeos?
The style and music reminds me of the game professor layton
Thank you!! The character designs in that game were a big inspiration for me during the designing process!
Музыка по мотивам over garden wall?
waiting for the theories
What was the idea? I didn’t understand it.
So the lady was a ghost? although I also think that perhaps the child could have entered a portal, that is, to another dimension for a few moments where I can see the lady alive and when he left the house, he may have left the portal and went to the real world Or it could be that the house is a charm Friday 1:27am 12/05/2023
first
Gonna wait for someone smart to analyze some scenes and what does symbolism means?
